  1. Ah replay, where we can waste 5 minutes and still get the call wrong
  2. That's a fair ball...why have replay for so many minutiae then limit it here?
  3. Vogt's bat is not good enough to justify starting him as much as we have with that noodle arm. Please hit a dinger tonight and prove me wrong, Stephen.
  4. Yeah I get that Craig is playing R vs L matches with his lineups of late, but would prefer to see more Manny than Vogt
  5. Marlins played it smart by trying only during the middle game of the series. Looks less suspicious that way, split the thrown games apart.
  6. I'll second AT&T, but disagree on Fenway. Love the history and feel of the ballpark, like watching a game as it was decades ago while I felt they updated it to the point it was actually quite comfortable. And the area surrounding the stadium is lively and atmosphere great. Fenway may actually be my favorite. For least favorite I'll leave out the stadiums that weren't built specifically for an MLB team (Tropicana Field, Metrodome is all time worst place I've been to watch a game). Otherwise I'll say Great American Ballpark...just not one single interesting thing about it.
  7. There's nothing I didn't like, just nothing that stood out about it to me either. It deserves credit for the setting, it's a great view. I guess it's just that without the view, it's just a ballpark. And if we're factoring in the setting in general, the area and atmosphere around the park was pretty dead when we went. No ill will towards the park, I don't dislike it, just other parks I'd put above it on my list.
  8. Sometimes I get annoyed by all the PNC love. Yes, the view is great. The ballpark? Meh.
  9. Agreed...but the only way for that to happen would be for us to sweep the Pirates in 3 and them to get swept by the Rays in 2. That would be neat, though unlikely.
  10. This, and without our best pitcher too. After the Reds series it was put up or shut up, and the team has responded big time winning 7 of 9 including a sweep of the Cubs in Wrigley. That's a big deal. If someone else could actually beat the freaking Cubs even once in a series we'd be talking about how this team is surging toward the playoffs.
  11. Cubs don't play today so we actually have a chance to gain on them in the standings!
  12. Can't think of another Brewer quite like him, at times so bad and unable to even make contact on meatballs it's laughable, then will go a week where he carries the offense. Seems like a guy at least worth keeping another year, cause if he actually figures it out he could be special.
  13. Keep it all in perspective too. No one was planning a road trip to Miller Park this weekend. The population of the greater Milwaukee area is around 1.5 million, so over 1% of the people in the city of Milwaukee went to the game on 48 hours notice. And even more will be there tomorrow and Sunday.
  14. They didn't sell all the seats in the stadium, in fact they opened up extra seats because the ones they did make available sold out in under an hour. I mean geez, we are 10th in attendance in the smallest media market in baseball with a team that wasn't expected to compete.
  15. Shaw has been just as responsible as anyone else for the offensive slump. Since August 1st: .207/.302/.380/.682 Hard to score runs when the middle of the lineup doesn't produce
  16. I definitely don't... But as much as I dislike Garza (can't believe I'm going here...), he does occasionally have a decent start. Though admittedly, not lately. But it feels more likely he goes out and is decent and we don't have to pinch hit every other inning than that 7-9 different guys all pitch well. Why not at least trot him out there first, and at the first sign of trouble be ready to pull him quick. And if there is no trouble, then bonus! I mean, we let Guerra pitch in a tie game, and he's been worse than Garza.
  17. So are we going to do this bullpen day every 5 days until season end? 2-3 more times? I guess it's going ok so far...but I don't like it.
  18. I'm just going to throw it out there, and I'd guess it won't be a popular opinion...but I am not opposed to trading Chase Anderson this offseason. Especially (maybe only) if we somehow acquire good MLB starting pitching in return or in another trade. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy and would be more than content having him in the rotation next year. But I'm just not sure I believe that he's as good as he's been this year. He gives up a lot of flyballs and his xFIP is the highest of his career this year, explained by the fact his HR/FB rate is by far the lowest in his 4 MLB seasons to date. Maybe he is missing bats better, but I'd expect there's some luck involved in that as well, especially when Miller Park is your home. For comparisons sake, Junior Guerra had a very similar ERA, FIP, and xFIP in 2016 as Chase has this year with an almost identical HR/FB rate. If Stearns can work magic to somehow capitalize on Anderson's big year and sell high while still restocking the MLB rotation for next year, count me in.
  19. Feels like every off day lately - whether for the Brewers or for the teams we are chasing - has resulted in us losing a half game in the standings. Here's hoping that changes tomorrow.
  20. Arcia and Perez? On a more serious note...I'll go with Votto and Rizzo
  21. I've had enough of trying to play guys out of position. Out of Thames/Aguilar/Sogard/Villar, it's not like too many of them are so hot that we can't find space for everyone that's raking. Put OFs in the OF and play the hot bats between 1B and 2B Edit: I'm very ok with Phillips playing OF
  22. I was pretty excited about seeing what the Brewers could do with Nelson/Anderson/Davies in the playoffs. Hard to imagine a deep run if they got in with Anderson/Davies/...Woodruff?Suter?Garza??? I'd happily watch them try though
