  1. This picture looks like if Khris Middleton and Kevin Durant had a child.
  2. We've officially clinched a better record than the Nationals
  3. Now the play-by-play guy wonders if Urias struck out on that check swing…ON THE FIRST PITCH OF THE AT BAT Edit: whoops, he said strike one, not strike out. My apologies play-by-play guy whoever you are
  4. I’m actually becoming somewhat amused at how consistently these guys are mispronouncing almost everyone’s names
  5. It sounds like he is trying to pronounce it with an Asian inflection, which is very cringeworthy
  6. A legend and the soundtrack of Milwaukee summer…but sadly it’s tough these days to follow a game on the radio with Ueck on the call
  7. Well I think this is clearly wrong. He's 24 and if you even our small samples in either direction by just looking at his overall career stats, he has 689 PA hitting .250/.327/.472 with a 108 wRC+ His approach right now is definitely not cutting it though. I should have added a “right now” at the end of that first sentence but with his only average or above tool/s being tied to a bat that can no longer make contact, he’s among the least valuable players. Yeah, he has evidence that he can hit in the big leagues, so I am far from giving up on him. Closer than I was 2 months ago sadly...but still far from it But "right now," I am hard pressed to think of a worse two-month stretch - by any everyday major league player, in all phases of the game - than Keston's Hiura's 2021 season to date. Certainly can't think of any Brewers off the top of my head that played both this regularly and this poorly...and that's saying a lot. I know some might point out Counsell's 0-45 or whatever it was, but he didn't play and get 4 ABs everyday. And his defense and baserunning weren't atrocious. The only other name that comes to mind is Chris Davis.
  8. I am hopeful the Brewers are going easy on pitch counts early in an attempt to really unleash their pitchers in September and (hopefully) October. They sorely needed another bullpen arm to emerge given their obvious plan for short pitch counts these days. And JP has been so huge in that role.
  9. Well it is a 1 run game and his spot is up with a runner in scoring position so it makes sense. Maybe I’m just jaded, but at this point there’s no one on the bench I trust to drive in that run. I’d rather have another inning of Woodruff on the mound.
  10. Hiura is not currently an MLB player. A lot of people seem to think they need to ride it out and let him work through it at the MLB level. I am not one of those people.
  11. 2nd worst team OPS in the NL coming into the game (tied with Pitt). So many black holes in the lineup. Imagine if we could pair some batters with this pitching staff.
  12. 3-2 pitch with your best hitter at the plate. You’re basically trusting him to not swing and miss at a fastball. Thankfully for us, that’s exactly what happened. I don't like the possibility of a final out at third. Especially with good hitters still coming up. And with happ's speed a single likely scores him from second anyway Yeah I don’t disagree at all, especially with an ace on the mound in a 1-run game, you don’t want to risk running into outs when scoring opportunities are likely to be scarce. Just saying I can see a justifiable logic, even though I agree that I wouldn’t have done it.

  14. I’m a Bill fan, but the schtick of “I can’t believe the batter took that pitch, and it wasn’t called a strike” on two-strike counts is getting old. It’s well known that umps these days are objectively graded on their calls, and long gone are the days of rewarding a pitcher (or punishing a hitter) for a close two-strike pitch. It’s either a ball or it’s a strike, as it should be.
  15. Random observation since he was the only one to actually drive in a run that inning....but interesting to note that Travis Shaw has a negative WAR this year. Had a couple early big hits and everyone seemed ready to declare him back to his old self...but he actually has a lower WAR than JBJ this season.
  16. I hate the Cubs as much as the next guy, and can’t stand their normal whining. But to be fair, that was a big call, and a pretty bad one. Bottom 9, no outs, 1 run game, and the first batter just walked. A strike there changes the dynamic of the at bat, the inning, and expands the zone up for a pitcher who makes a living getting outs by getting guys to chase high in the zone. I don’t think it made or broke the game, and agree the Cubs are probably overblowing it. But it wasn’t a small thing either.
  17. Never been so excited by an inning in which a reliever gave up an absolute meatball homer. Williams looking more and more like 2020. Very encouraging, and still have the lead for Hader.
  18. I’m hard pressed to think of a stretch of a worse baseball by a Brewer than Keston Hiura is currently having.
  19. At this rate at least I might be able to save some money on that Spectrum cable package I just signed up for
  20. Would a no-hitter tonight get Haines fired? Because I’m actually kind of rooting for it at the moment for that reason.
  21. Ok I know I’m supposed to ignore 2020. So when am I allowed to start getting nervous about 2021 Yelich? (Yes I know the answer is “not yet, and nowhere close to yet.” But 5Ks in 9 ABs...can’t help but bring up bad memories)
