  1. Agree to disagree. Having done both, a scoop is NOTHING like taking/reading a line drive in the outfield. Time off the bat vs. out of the hand is a big difference as it is just on the surface of the argument. You also have to figure in the distance you're working with as well. I don't buy it at all. Bottom line, Hart is good at it. But just throwing random Joe Schmoe is dangerous, in my opinion.
  2. Try scooping a tailing ball coming at you at 80+ MPH and tell me that it's an easy position to pick up. Hart is a good athlete, that is why the transition was seamless. In my opinion, the Brewers were lucky that one, he picked it up so fast, and two, he is pretty darn good at it. In fact, when someone makes it look as easy Hart did, people often say anyone can do it when in fact, they can't.
  3. Paul one thing you need to realize is that this gives the opportunity for Brewer fans across the state. If it was limited to area bars as it used to be, I would have a minimal chance of being able to go. I have now been to 3 in a row and will go to my 4th this year. It's a great time. I have gone through the lottery every year. There are definitely tricks to doing it and I always make sure my browsers are up to date at least once a year. I guess I would be interested to know who else had problems with the virtual waiting room? I did it this weekend with the Twins website to score some Brewer tickets in May and it worked fine. I've never had an issue with the Brewers either?! Prices were definitely higher this year, but I trust our management to work in good faith to increase payroll, which they have proven they are willing to do when the turnstiles keep clicking. Just my 2 cents.
  4. I ended up with 4 loge and my wife had 4 terrace reserved. Both groups were together. Not bad.
  5. Last year I was able to get four together. They were decent seats in the terrace.
  6. I won the lottery. Second year in a row. Best lottery to win in my opinion!
  7. I was at the Pfister this past week when the Nationals were in town. Everyone was ignored. I talked with a nice security guy on Friday afternoon and he told me that most MLB and NBA teams stay at the Pfister. We stayed at the Hyatt and I would have a hard time believing that teams would stay there anymore. The Pfister is clearly a nicer place.
  8. My friend who lived in KC swears by Oklahoma Joe's. He loves his food too.
  9. What was interesting today on ESPN radio was Jonathan Coachman. He referenced knowing many people who take PEDs (obviously from his WWE days) and he stated that no one on Earth is smart enough to know how to beat the levels of testosterone in your system. For example, it's hard to get on a schedule where you know you will have levels in your body one day, and not the next. So, even if you DID know you were being tested on a Thursday (which you don't) you couldn't be totally confident in not having elevations in your system leading up to the test, much less making them disappear on a Thursday. He said coupling that with the fact that these guys don't know when they're being tested, he believed Braun, in his gut based off of his knowledge of how the PED game works. Coming from a place where roids run rampant, I liked what he had to say about Braun.
  10. Twins tickets went on sale today, and as expected the Brewers series in June went REALLY fast. Has anyone on here already secured tickets? Target Field is a beautiful stadium and I look forward to hearing really LOUD chants of "Let's go Brewers!!" I'll be there Friday and Saturday.
  11. I have heard this several times since the desicion was announced. No one knows the truth of this for sure other than MLB (and any players that possible won their appeals). Jimmy Rollins has tweeted that there have been other players that have won their appeals. I think we could all agree that this is the first 100% without a doubt KNOWN overturn of an appeal; thus why I said known.
  12. Their omission speaks volumes. This is the first person in known MLB history to win a drug appeal. If this was a Yankee or Red Sox player they would dedicate an entire 30 minute section to them, just as they would if Braun lost his appeal.
  13. I flip on ESPN just now and here is what I see in pictures, not the crusty sidebar that says, "Breaking: Braun clears suspension"....Jeremy Lin, Tiger Woods, Dick Vitale. No story to create with Braun, I see.
  14. I had 104, row 4 but got kicked out for some reason. Had to settle for outfield terrace reserved. At least I know I'll be in the gate on Opening Day!!
  15. I was one of the lucky ones I guess. I filled out for Opening Day only. Hopefully this process is smoother than when I did it on the Twins website for the Brewers series last year.
  16. I was kind of wondering the same thing. Also, we need to remember that just because we found out about the failed drug test before we were supposed to, it doesn't change the facts or the process. Yes, there is hope that Braun will still be able to overcome this but we don't know if it is any more hope than any other player had at this stage of the game. This has to put MLB in a very awkward spot. If Braun doesn't get a 50 game suspsension after a failing a drug test, many will think MLB's PED policy is a joke. They have worked very hard to clean the sport up and now they have an MVP fail a drug test in his MVP year. Actually, I don't think there's an issue here for MLB, the 50 game deal will be implemented or MLB will come out with a damn good explanation why Braun was able to be the first player to successfully overturn this. If a physician prescribed something to Braun and Braun asked "is this OK to take" and the dosctor told him yes its not on the banned list how much "research" does the player have to do before taking anything artificial? (just curious). Does MLB have to give an explanation as to why Braun would be exonerated? This is supposed to be a confidential process. I find it hard to believe that they have NEVER overturned an appeal, yet we haven't heard of it. Although in my opinion it's irresponsible, I wouldn't be surprised if Braun was found not guilty and MLB didn't offer an explanation.
  17. Great post. For more than one reason.
  18. Spoken like a true guy who hasn't had to sit through multiple seasons of Sutton being your home market broadcaster with Grace as the color guy.Just 5 years with the Brewers. You're missing the point. Those idiots feed off each other. Sutton wasn't nearly as bad with the Crew as he is in AZ.
  19. Or yelling like a guy calling a game for a team that just hit a grand slam in the playoffs.Spoken like a true guy who hasn't had to sit through multiple seasons of Sutton being your home market broadcaster with Grace as the color guy.
  20. This is where Sutton is yelling like an idiot in the booth. (If they were doing play by play.)
