  1. I'll be the one drinking a beer. Is that enough?
  2. I love it when the idiots are shown up by the crazy old men in like the 2nd inning, then the crazy old men proceed to berate then for the remainder of the game. you know my dad? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. you totally make the guy buy you a beer, but you forgive the $10 bet.
  4. or you could just yell "yosted!"
  5. So, a hypothetical question for all you men: if you MUST see a female commentator, would you rather she be extremely unattractive and really know what she's talking about, or be drop-dead gorgeous and have the baseball knowledge of a 2-year-old? Honesty is encouraged. Basically, what I'm getting at is - what do you think the role of female commentators is? Are they there to provide a pretty face for a mostly male, heterosexual audience, or to give a little bit of color commentary and get interviews from players, like any male commentator would do? As an aside, most male sports commentators I've seen are not attractive at all. Unfair.
  6. i prefer to test people's facebook stalking skills. Find me. I dare you. It's actually not that hard.
  7. name tags remind me of work. and work conferences.
  8. some of us are facebook friends, so we'll recognize each other from pictures. If people are afraid of walking up to "strangers" we could post our pics in the thread if we want. I'm not that shy, especially after a few beers. Maybe I'll just start walking up to people and asking "hey are you from bf.net? no? you should be."
  9. mustard + relish = ick. ketchup = yum!
  10. I've gotten so used to spring training in AZ where you can make it to every single game in less than an hour (except silly Tuscon, which isn't worth the trip). Knowing that it seems to be a good idea for the team, for me personally the thought of having to drive 5-6 hours to see a spring training game stinks. I'd probably consider not going to spring training anymore.
  11. This happened to me at Thursday's game. The guy really was sounding like an idiot, and the girl just kept nodding, saying "mmm-hmmm." I've learned never to correct people, or even give answers unless the question was directed specifically to me. Lots of people don't like being corrected, but even more guys (especially drunk ones) don't like being corrected about sports by a girl. My dad, on the other hand, will correct anyone. He gets a pass because he's a crazy old man.
  12. So can you get him to give us all drink specials because we're such fun brewers fans? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  13. Does anyone have anything else to add to this thread? I'll be done reading for class on May 3 (hooray!) and I want to pick up some baseball books. I'm not really interested in statistical analysis...I liked Moneyball and I enjoy reading about the business side of baseball. I'm also a little light on my baseball history knowledge so I"ll probably have to pick up some of the historical books already mentioned. Last summer I picked up Ninety Feet From Fame - a bunch of short stories about players that just missed being famous because of injuries, circumstances, other great players, etc. It took me forever to read, but it was very interesting.
  14. I'm still a pretty solid cereal eater. But I've moved to Kashi so I feel like it's healthier and it keeps me full longer. But every once in awhile apple jacks are great. Peanut Butter Captain Crunch is the best. cereal. ever.
  15. I'd like to add that I do think she's a good commentator. She knows her stuff. I even heard her say "clutch" today.
  16. I've never been a fan of nacho's with barbeque sauce. They have something like that at Harry's on Oakland. Very disappointing.
  17. Sometimes I think faster than I type. I used Tostitos brand white queso, mixed that with the salsa and sausage...then spooned that over the chips and added more cheese. I actually thought about taking a picture but I was too lazy.
  18. Push through until Friday. BFnetters + alcohol + baseball = glorious.
  19. I ditto Don. I have a drinking "problem"...once I start it takes awhile before I can stop.
  20. I think the bouncer at Zim's might require you to wear pants.
  21. So, a bunch of us in the in-game chat decided that it would be fun to watch the game at a bar on Friday. We're going to meet up at Zim's, which is located at 770 N Milwaukee St. in downtown Milwaukee. They have a bunch of HD tv's...not a bad seat in the house. http://www.zimsbar.com This is not a brewerfan.net officially sanctioned event - just a bunch of us getting together. Who's interested? Game is at 6:10. Show up whenever you want. Stay as long as you want.
  22. Yes, you are the reason players fail to reach their potential. Stay away from the prospects I'm not a big believer in curses. I doubt you need to worry about it.
  23. the guy that does that is the guy you probably don't want to hang out with anyway, IMHO
  24. It's Saturday night and I'm doing absolutely nothing. I'm actually kind of excited about this. It means no hangover in the morning
