  1. It's just bleachers vs fold-down seats.
  2. They brought out 2008 Postseason signage when we made our second trip on Friday. I think they were $40 each. Wow we bought a bunch of stuff for us and others as well, so I'd have 30% off. We might have to go back today. Thanks for the heads up.
  3. Yup, that's a CAFO. And it's definitely poop. One of the many reasons we try not to eat meat from CAFOs anymore, and choose to support our local small farms that raise grass-fed beef.
  4. I didn't know you got a discount in the fanzone if you spent more than 100! Shoot. If anyone watched Channel 12 WISN news last night at 6 (maybe 10 too), SgtClueLs and I were shown browsing through the memorabilia with our friends. I haven't seen it yet, but friends told us about it. Sgt just went to see if anything new came out today...and it didn't. Prices didn't go down either. Looks like the "everything must go" mentality from last year is gone. The Hurricane jersey should fit you, right Laura? He's kind of a little guy. You should see Aaron in the Spurling jersey - it's hilarious.
  5. Well, you've converted me with this post (with the roster as it stands). I don't have anything against Rivera, but I also didn't consider the 3 catchers option. However, how do you think he would feel about being "demoted" from back-up catcher to 3rd catcher? He'd probably end up catching even less games than he did this year.
  6. It looks like it's on the fast track to approval, but I am not excited about this. CAFOs (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations) produce nasty waste that gets into the water supply, and sometimes into the meat. When I started researching this, I found out there are almost 200 CAFOs in Wisconsin. ick.
  7. This afternoon they added 4 seats from county stadium. They said they were the last ones they had available. $500 each.
  8. amazing that they built poor sight lines into a new ball park.
  9. TH's blog quotes the 4 out of 5 starts. He caught 90 last year and 86 in 2008. 4 out of 5 starts is 128, and the last time he got close to that was in 2005 (132 starts). My guess is the 4/5 starts doesn't pan out. edit: 132 starts, not 133
  10. At least we know what his at bat song will be
  11. I thought we didn't give up draft picks for Type B free agents, since we ended up in the bottom half.
  12. Deal is done, per twitter from Tyler Barners
  13. Per Tom Haudricourt and Tyler Barne's tweet. He'll be our #1 catcher. Club option for 2011. Rumored price is 2.15M.
  14. Adam McCalvey has Zaun pegged as a brewer link
  15. If you got in early, there wasn't a line to check out until about 9:30ish. After that, the wait was easily 30 minutes just to check out. You'll all get postseason gamedays for free in your checkout bag! Glad I paid for those during the playoffs....... Sgt picked up Spurling and Kremblas batting practice jersey for $25 each. Cheaper than a replica, right? Sheets batting practice was selling for $500. I stocked up on baby stuff for friends and family. That stuff is way overpriced during the season.
  16. Hawing, many of our offices at UW-Milwaukee require students to clock into kronos on a certain computer. Then there's a report that can be run in SAP that lists any exceptions to that IP address. Any additions/changes to the timecard have to be done by the supervisor. Could be an option.
  17. I had a full-season package in the terrace reserved, and I had the exact same seats for the playoffs. When additional tickets were released, I was able to purchase 4 seats in section 121 (Saturday) and 19ish (Sunday) and sold my terrace reserved seats. It seemed that many people were not happy with the seats they were originally offered, but then many of us upgraded or helped out friends with the additional seats were released. Friends with a 20-pack in loge (1st year) were offered terrace reserved seats pretty far in the outfield. I'd also mention that the additional seats were offered at a very reasonable price. I believe my field level seats were $50-$60 each.
  18. Have you looked at the long-term stay hotels? I stayed at the Homestead hotel in Mesa my first year (2007). It was $500 for the week.
  19. I guess I was thinking this way you don't really have to rent a car or find your way around the Phoenix area (although it's pretty simple to get around). You also have built in social activities every night with baseball fans in the hotel. Again, not for me....and I do wonder if they'll sell it out in this economy.
  20. Brewers Enterprises is offering a Spring Training package - the Brewers Roadcrew - if you don't want to go to the trouble of planning your own trip. Our trip will be longer, and much cheaper....but this might be a good deal for new folks that don't know the ins and outs of spring training. Link
  21. Architectural renderings of some of the changes to the park are available here.
  22. put them in a plastic sleeve, and reuse the sleeves?
  23. Just heard back from my rep - he's not 100% sure that the lot name changes are going to last more than the 40th anniversary season. But, he's checking into what they're doing with the old signs. Giants Lot Brewing Company (SgtClueLs' beer-brewing friends) sure could use one of those Giants lot signs.
  24. Perhaps they'll sell the signage at the December sale. I already asked my ticket rep if I could get my hands on a Giants lot sign.
