  1. Every year I try to collect the 5x7 cards that the Brewers give out at their their "On Deck" or "Winter Warm Up" events as well as Autograph Fridays. If you can have any of these and can help me out, I will gladly purchase them or trade heavily in your favor. I have hundreds of extras as well as tons of autographs that I can trade if you can fill any of the holes. My email is mark@grunske.com. I can also send you a list with photos of each of the cards if you are unsure what cards are what year. Thanks for any help you can provide: Need the following: 2009 Autograph Friday Logo Card 2009 Winter Warm Up Mark Attanasio Bill Castro Brad Fischer Trevor Hoffman Stan Kyles Alex Periard Willie Randolph Ed Sedar Dale Sveum 2008 Autograph Fridays Need signed cards of: Branyan, Durham, Torres, Yost 2008 On Deck Bill Hall JJ Hardy Ben Sheets Need signed cards of: Chavez, Gagne, Mota, Nunez, Torres 2007 On Deck/Autograph Fridays Dennis Sarfate Corey Koskie Marcus Hanel 2006 On Deck/Autograph Fridays Have all cards........Looking for a ton of autographs 2005 Autograph Fridays Need about half the set, please let me know if you have any to trade/sell 2005 On Deck Bernie Brewer JJ Hardy Rick Helling Mike Maddux Vinny Rotino Ken Sanders Sausages Ricky Bottalico Bob Brainard Jim Powell Darron Sutton Bill Schoreder If you have cards from 2003 or earlier, please let me know......
  2. Something tells me that at the signing at the MOA, he will only sign like an advertising card/photo for the clothing line. Just a guess, but that is my hunch!
  3. A bunch of signings coming up. Don Money and Mike Caldwell at Waukesha Sportscards on Saturday, Lary Sorensen will be signing at Gonzaga Hall this Sunday. Gate X has a ton of Brewers coming up including Buck Rodgers, Mark Brouhard, Dick Davis and some guys from the 70s.
  4. My guess is they might do a "mystery bobble" for the last one of the year, and then have it be a 600 saves Trevor Hoffman bobble. Doubt you want to advertise a 600 save bobble before he gets them in case he gets hurt and it doesn't happen..........
  5. Depending on price, I would be interested in the following: 74 Hank Aaron Braun Huntsville Variation Huntsville Krynzel
  6. I will take the Fielder HR Celebration shot Do you have another of the Braun/Fielder HR derby?
  7. My point is that the alternative version of bobbles generates interest and in some way, shape of form ends up generating more income for them. I have always purchased a couple of extra tickets hoping to get one and then I treat some family members or friends to the game. If there were no alternative bobbles, then I wouldn't do that. My guess is (only a guess) is that the company that produces them has their "lowest price" at a production run of 5000 bobbles. So for the Brewers to order roughly 40,000 "regular" and 5,000 "retro" they all cost the same. So, for the Brewers, there is no additional cost to hand out a limited edition, but the fans all get excited about them, so they gain in that way. I may be totally off, but if I were their marketing director and I saw people pop their boxes as soon as they walk into the ball park and then get excited about something they got for free, I would be thrilled knowing I did my job well. Well it may drive collectors crazy (me included, I have spent thousands of dollars on Brewer bobbles over the last decade) it gets people excited and out to their games which is their goal. Bobbles don't always need to have an alternate version to sell out the ball park (Braun sold out, Melvin not even close), but it sure doesn't hurt!
  8. The alternates are what fuels their ticket sales in my opinion. It is a bit like gambling. If you watch people enter the stadium, the first thing they do is pop the boxes open to check to see if they got one. Then they "high five" each other, etc in celebration. It is a marketing teams dream.
  9. Got my bobble signed. Very cool promotion. Based on the small crowd for an all-fan giveaway (when is the last time that happened, except for maybe one or two of the mini bobbles) for the Melvin bobble, I assume this means no go on the Gord Ash bobble next year. Damn!
  10. I was at Mayfair on Sunday and Jeff's had no advertising at all about the signing in their shop unlike other signings they have had. I thought that was real interesting.
  11. He is going to be signing his bobble at the "raffle ticket" booth along the third base side of the stadium prior to the game next Sunday. I think that is pretty cool of him to do.
  12. Waukesha Sportscards has some of the big heads (saw them in there today) , though I am not sure which ones. You should give them a call. 262-544-0959
  13. Please let me know as well
  14. Yo Italian Fielder in his HR Derby jersey and holding the trophy 1970 Brewer for the 40th Anniversary of the team. (Tommy Harper, Ken Sanders, Dave Bristol?) After that who knows.........Parra, Looper, Cameron, Lopez, Counsell, McGehee, Coffey (bobble body or legs for his run in from the bullpen) ..........new players..........yikes Maybe time to do another classic guy (Oglivie, Vuckovich, Lezcano, etc)
  15. I have been collecting it since 1977. Send me some pics and I will tell you if you have anything good.
  16. Well said Brewcrews! We need to not ruffle the Brewers feathers. They give us a fair amount of opportunities for autographs, more than any other team I am aware of. While we don't always get what we want, the alternative could be having no opportunities! The Brewers actually deserve a lot of credit for sending these cards out. Think of the time it took. Granted, it is good for PR, but they just could have blown the whole thing off if they wanted to.
  17. As usual I was unable to make the Block Party. If anyone got a Chris Smith or Frank Catalanato 5x7 card signed (or unsigned) I would love to work out a trade or purchase price. Still looking for a Chris Narveson from the June block party. Will be very generous in your favor if you can help me out.
  18. Did anyone get a Chris Narveson 5x7 card from the year's block party that they are willing to part with? I would try to make a sweet deal in your favor if you have one (I have an extra autographed JJ Hardy I could trade for it). I am also looking for a Ray Durham 5x7 from last year's block party. Will pay $20 for that card if you have one.
  19. Hello! If anyone is going to the block party on Saturday................ I can't be there as I am out of town, but would love to work out a trade if you can get me a 5x7 photo card (the one they give away) signed in blue sharpie or unsigned......it doesn't matter, just would like to get the card for sure, and an autograph if possible. Hopefully some one might be able to help after they get their Hardy, Hart or Yovanni! Not looking for commitments, but if you are going and can get one when/if you are done, let me know! I will be back in town on Tuesday, and may not have internet access between now and then. Thanks Mark Mark
  20. I have two terraced reserved for Saturday available.
  21. I wasn't lucky today, so I need to find a Trevor retro. Have many retros/alternate jerseys to trade: Cooper, Gantner, Fielder (08), Hardy, Hart, Fingers, Thomas (I think), Weeks, Capuano, Hall, D Miller and some of the mini bobbles of the 82 guys. Also have lots of "regular" jersey bobbles to trade as well if you want to do a bunch of mine, for one of yours.
  22. I don't really like exclusive contracts either, however there is one upside in my opinion, autographs are at least available! While I can attend autograph Fridays, an occasional block party, and some other in person signings, many times I would like to get multiple things signed (each year I try to get signed sets of things like the 5x7 autograph friday cards, topps heritage team set, yearbook cover, 8x10 of each new player, 5x7 card set from "On Deck", bobbleheads, etc) and the "1 per" at these events make it tough to do. If these free events still exist, and paid signings exist, I think we have the best of both worlds. Those who want to keep it inexpensive can get a few things signed, and those who try to collect a lot of different items each year can work on their stuff (for a price of course). I would much rather have the chance to say "no" to a price, than never having the chance to say "no"!
  23. Just a thought......................Trevor Hoffman and Hells Bells in a couple of weeks? What do you think?
  24. Tables were still set back. Blue Sharpies were there! I got 4: Yovanni, Kyles, Stetter and Nelson. A friend of mine got everyone but Yovanni! Love Auto Fridays on spring games. Lines will get way to big come the summer!
