  1. If they want to match the Baltimore streak they'll have to do it all on the road... next 6 games are at PNC, and then they have 3 more at MP. Does anyone know what the record is for consecutive home games won against a particular team?
  2. 3 vs AZI (2-1) 2 @ PIT (2-0) 2 @ CIN (1-1) 3 vs CHI (2-1) 3 vs FLA (2-1) 3 @ STL (1-2) 3 @ HOU (1-2) 3 @ MIN (0-3) 3 vs STL (3-0) 3 vs CIN (2-1) I'll say 16-12 they'll keep up their hot streak into mid-may before having a stinker of a road trip to st louis, houston and minnesota, before bringing it back with some revenge against st louis and cinci.
  3. Yesterday afternoon Jeff Suppan came through not only on the mound, but also once again at the plate when he singled to lead off the 5th inning before he was eventually sacrificed home on a Corey Hart flyball. This got me wondering if they're doing something different with the pitchers during batting practice or something. Obviously its still a small sample size, but our 5 starters are putting up a very impressive batting line: .250 BA / 0.250 OBP / 0.417 SLG, which includes a homerun by Gallardo, a double by Suppan, 4 RBI's and 3 Runs scored. I guess my question is, are the pitchers taking a different approach, and if so what are they doing different, or do we just chalk this up to a small sample size.
  4. Sorry, but?I can't help thinking of Dwight Schrute whenever anyone?says they're 99% sure.
  5. I think you're being sarcastic here, but I'll bite anyway. Beane would be a horrible manager (if he'd even take the job) since he's too emotional and intense. According to Moneyball he'd be so much of a wreck during games, that he couldn't stand to watch them live, so during the games he would either pace around the clubhouse or he'd be in the weight room working out. And his only link to the game would be his cell phone or PDA or something that would give him updates on the box score.
  6. "If I didn't know who Braun was and saw him walking down Water or Old World Third I would think he looks like the biggest tool in the world. Luckily for him, I'm a huge fan and he could dress up every day in a pirate costume for all I care. "
  7. I know its not good, but does anyone know how many times, a team has come back from down 0-2 to win a 5-game series? The optimistic fan side of me says, if only they can win the next two home games, they'll have CC going on regular rest for game 5, and then anything can happen. The other side says not to get your hopes up. Regardless, if they want a miracle to happen, they'll need to get a few more hot bats for some contageous hitting.
  8. well..... if he was running at 20 mph, and threw the ball at 94 mph, could the ball then go 114 mph? My head hurts now.
  9. I was just trying to verify this, and couldn't with a quick scan of his bio, but I seem to remember that when he was scouted, he could have been brought up as a pitcher. I'd be willing wager that his throws can reach the low to mid 90's. Maybe someday, he'll be put on the mound and we'll find out.
  10. I used to know a guy who was UWM's mascot "Victor-E", and he would always tell me how nasty the costume would get. The suit was a sweat-box. He shared the costume with a few others, and they would always get the costume dry cleaned after each use. He said the nastiest part was the head, which they couldn't dry-clean, so all they could do was spray half a bottle of febreeze in it.
  11. I remember hearing somewhere about a third baseman who tried out with a major league team (friend of a friend of a friend type guy....would have played in the minors), and that they'd time their throws from 3rd to 1st, and if it wasn't at least 80mph they wouldn't even consider him.
  12. Those imitation sausage costumes look pretty lame.... you'd think they could at least put some effort into the costumes if they're going to mock them.
  13. I just got a parking pass at MP this afternoon, and I believe I got the whole story from what seemed to be a reliable source (at the brewer's ticket office). It sounds like they anticipate that they'll sell out of parking passes, in which case, you wouldn't be able to pay for parking at the gate on gameday. However, if the parking passes don't sell out, they'll let you pay at the gate... its not like they'll refuse your money if they have an empty space. So if the question is "Can I pay for parking at the gate on gameday?".... at this point, with parking passes still not sold out, the answer you should get is "Maybe, but probably not"
  14. I sent an e-mail to my ticket rep, asking for a clarification, but I'll probably just get a parking pass anyway tonight, so there's no chance I'm turned away at the gate (even though I'll be getting there shortly after the gates open).
  15. I just called the brewers ticket office also, and they said that they will be selling parking on game-day, and that a parking pass was not required (at least for general parking).
  16. I'd have to throw Mitch Stetter in there also.... being the one who'd be brought in to try to strike out the side with runners on base. I specifically recall a game earlier in the season when Turnbow loaded the bases with no outs, and Stetter came in and shut the door allowing none to score with 2 strikeouts and a foul-out. The guy I was next to said "I think Turnbow owes Stetter a beer"
  17. I am curious as to how MLB works on merchandise. Does the MLB get a percentage of the licensing and then split that equally over all the teams? Is it every team gets there own sales for themselves?good point, I'm not sure how the profits are split up, but it seems to make sense that when you buy a jersey at the fanzone in MP, the brewers get much of the profit from that sale. I suppose it might be a different story when you buy a jersey at J.C. Penny's.
  18. I received mine middle of last week. Check which delivery option you selected... there were 3 options:1. The default option was "Print tickets at home", for which they'd give you a link to print each of your tickets in your confirmation e-mail 2. U.S. Mail 3. Will call. option #1 was $2.00, and options #2 & #3 were $4.00, if that helps you recall which you selected, but it should be on the confimation e-mail also.
  19. Sweet... way to be optimistic... lets run with this (and then complain about the small ball thing when/if they lose)
  20. There are two things we can do to get CC resigned: 1. Buy tickets 2. Buy merchandise Mark A is a businessman, so he's going to look at what CC brings in vs no CC. If signing CC long term sells x number of jerseys, y number of tickets, and gives the brewers the equivalent of z wins a year over his replacement, which increases post-season chances by so much, and if all this + how much CC raises the value of the team + the increased revenue from TV contracts is greater than CC's salary, he will sign CC. Though it does look like Mark A is willing to take a calculated risk where the Seiligs would stick to the safe route.
  21. sweet... make sure you at least say hi... I have seats 11 & 12 and I'll be wearing my white Prince Fielder jersey. I'll also be partaking in an "all-day tailgate", which will include the viewing of Harvey's Wall-Bangers on a laptop in the parking lot.
  22. We couldn't have done it without late inning heroics by Bill Hall and Ryan Braun in St. Louis! We couldn't have done it without CC Sabathia being acquired a full week before the all-star break. We couldn't have done it without early success against Chicago (winning 4 of 6 in Chicago in April and May) We couldn't have done it without Solomon Torres deciding not to retire. We couldn't have done it without Gabe Kapler coming out of retirement. We couldn't have done it without sweeping Pittsburgh not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR TIMES. We couldn't have done it without winning the first 7 games after the all-star break.
  23. I think Suppan should start game 1. He struggled against Philly last time out, but that doesn't mean he'll struggle again, so I think you need to go with the veteran in this instance. Gallardo will get his chance in game 3 or 4.
  24. On Saturday I'll be in Section 431 Row 1
  25. Just ordered mine also. Got Terrace Box for both series... I was surprised to get row 1 for both though (431 for NLDS and 420 for NLCS)
