  1. I think his career statistics might disagree with you. I hear ya. He probably should have blocked. In his defense, he played wide receiver (and basketball) in college. He was a marginal NFL tight end, but a very good athlete. Nodakfan doesn’t fault him for trying. It’s better than standing around watching. I’d be fine with any current Packer tight end fielding the ball in that situation (except Sternberger ).
  2. At the risk of digging up old wounds, the Falcons onside kick fail paints Brandon Bostic in a better light. If I’m a fan of the receiving team and a TE has a chance to cleanly field an onside kick, I want the TE to try and catch it 10 times out of 10. We’re not talking about a lineman or LB. Bostic was a professional pass catcher. I wish the outcome were different, but I don’t fault him for trying to recover the ball (even with Jordy right behind him).
  3. I put my 4 year-old son on the Packers’ season ticket wait list after he was born. Since then, he’s moved up from ~134,000 to ~130,000. I doubt he ever makes it to the top, but it’s fun to get the postcard every year and laugh about it.
  4. I have a Dorsey Levens rookie card from my youth where Levens is wearing a #48 practice jersey, but I don’t recall him ever wearing anything but #25 for the Packers in a game.
  5. I caught a clip of Rodgers on Pat McAffee’s show after Rob Demovsky tweeted about it. The bit about uniform numbers was amusing - they had a laugh about uncommon uniform numbers that are put into circulation for training camp due to the glut of extra bodies. That got me thinking - what ‘long shot’ Packers have been assigned a different uniform number in the offseason or preseason only to ‘upgrade’ later? Desmond Howard immediately comes to mind. He wore 22 in the preseason and then switched to 81 before Week 1. An astute Twitter user pointed out that Donald Driver wore 13 in his first preseason before switching to 80. This was before it was common to see WR numbers in the teens.
  6. From NFL.com: Since 1933, teams are 440-1 when scoring 39+ points without a turnover. The Falcons now own that dubious distinction.
  7. ATL just standing there expecting it not to go ten yards or something. I don’t think they wanted to touch the ball due to its spin.
  8. That Cowboys’ onside kick. SMH.
  9. My FOX affiliate is giving me bonus coverage of the Cowboys and Falcons. The only thing that can top a Packer win is a Packer win followed by a Cowboys’ loss!
  10. I wonder how Jerry Jones feels right now. I didn’t see it. What happened?
  11. I’d prefer Boyle here. Hopefully Dillon will get some carries.
  12. I mean, if you took away any team’s two best plays, how would the result look? Point taken, but those 2 quick TD’s limited the Lions’ ability to run the ball. They were worth more than 14 points in the intangible sense.
  13. Grrr ... can’t rest Rodgers and Jones now. What would this game look like without Jones’ 75 yard run and Sullivan’s pick six?
  14. I’m caught up to the DVR and the stoppages are unbearable.
  15. I don’t get the Dak hype. He has a Top 5 OL and a Top 5 RB. The team uses first round draft picks on WR’s. His last 3 seasons have been 9-7, 10-6, and 8-8. But he wants as much money as Patrick Mahomes? For the Packers’ sake, I hope he gets it.
  16. That’s what I was thinking. Gotta save some tread on Jones, especially if they score here.
  17. Poor Matt Patricia. The stresses of NFL coaching have pushed him from ‘dad bod’ to whatever shape that is.
  18. Crazy to think they had a first down at the 18 and wound up outside of field goal range.
  19. I knocked on wood as soon as I heard that, but it didn’t help.
  20. Getting a lead will force the Lions to pass.
  21. I don’t have great feeling about this one. Without Clark, the Lions will pound the ball between the tackles. AP gets another 100 yard game against the Packers. I think they still pull it out, but it’s closer than it should be.
  22. I always forget about the 15-1 team, but that has to be right. That second year when we lost to Denver was the year we lost to the 0-9 or 0-10 Colts and probably cost us HFA. I’ll have a hard time picking the Packers when they visit Indy in Week 11 because of the clunkers they left there in 1997 and 2012. They also lost there in 2004 to a prime Peyton Manning - making them 0 for 3 in their last 3 trips. That 1997 loss sticks with me as the most unexplainable Packer loss in my memory. Runner-up would be the 2014 loss to the Bills that put the NFC Championship Game in Seattle instead of Green Bay.
  23. I probably understand the salary cap better than the average NFL fan, but I have no idea how the Rams can keep signing everyone. Initially, I thought they were spending to help put down roots in LA and sell tickets in their new stadium. Now I’m just confused.
  24. EQ to IR. TE John Lovett and DL Willington Previlon are the Practice Squad elevations.
