  1. Rates to zero ... yikes.
  2. New financial goal for 2020: Keep job.
  3. I read an article yesterday about some jerk in Tennessee who drove around Tennessee and Kentucky with a U-Haul and bought 17,000 bottles of hand sanitizer to resell online at an obscene profit. I don’t have a problem with someone selling their existing surplus items for whatever price the market bares, but hoarding hand sanitizer during a public health crisis is just next level idiocy.
  4. Here’s what bugs me about the WIAA Girls’ Basketball Tournament: The teams were already in Green Bay. Some had even played a game. Thousands of people brought their out-of-town germs to a county without a single Coronavirus case (knock on wood). The damage was done. At least play the games.
  5. Disney+ released Frozen 2 a few months early. Kudos to them for throwing parents a bone.
  6. Same here. I was hoping day care would close to make our decision easier. My wife and I are pretty fortunate in that we could both work remote and watch our 3-year-old for a few weeks. I’m planning on working 4am - Noon while she watches our son. Then we’ll switch and I’ll take care of the boy while she works Noon - 8 pm.
  7. I always have a about year’s worth of paper products on hand because I’m pretty frugal and stock up when Target runs their ‘Free $15 Gift Card with $50 Purchase of Household Products deal.’ That being said, I have no idea why people want to be able to wipe their butts for 5 years when they probably only have enough food to last 2 weeks. Mob mentality, I guess?
  8. What’s your objective? If it’s to speculate, I’d go with the iShares Silver Trust ETF (ticker: SLV). The transaction costs on trading physical gold and silver will eat into your profits. Do you have sales tax in Alaska? It’s a killer in Wisconsin for trading physical precious metals. You pay a 5% premium to buy, but you don’t get it back when you sell. The state keeps it.
  9. I don’t travel much, but have seen a few articles suggesting travel insurance doesn’t cover pandemic. Then what the heck does it cover? I thought it was supposed to protect individuals who saved up to take a ‘trip of a lifetime’ from this exact situation.
  10. COVIN-19 will probably kill the XFL revival. Trivial, considering it can kill actually people, but Vince McMahon purposely took 3 years to get it right and I appreciated the league for what it was. Some football is better than no football.
  11. I haven’t dipped my toe in yet, but came close yesterday when Disney, Target, and P&G all got below $100. However, it looks increasingly likely that some folks may lose their jobs in the coming months. That really takes the fun out of what merely seemed like a ‘great buying opportunity’ a few weeks ago.
  12. [sarcasm]The NBA is cancelling games in response to a virus to ensure the health and safety of its players? That’s literally the premise of Space Jam.[/sarcasm]
  13. Trivial in the context of today’s news, but ... North Dakota is currently the #1 team in the country and they’ll likely have the Frozen Four cancelled. What a bummer.
  14. I called this two weeks ago.
  15. Gift cards that expire. I thought there was some legislation that prevented gift cards from expiring, but recently discovered an old Kwik Trip gift card of mine was losing $2.00 per month due to inactivity.
  16. Did anyone else have issues with Robinhood this week?
  17. [sarcasm]If the Bucks win the Finals, does Larry Sanders still get a ring?[/sarcasm]
  18. Anyone else find it odd that silver was down last week?
  19. Wouldn’t it be the Bucks’ luck to have this year’s NBA Finals cancelled due to a Coronavirus outbreak?
  20. Notre Dame playing Big Ten hockey upsets me. That is all.
  21. I’m not going to speculate on individual stocks until the Dow goes positive for a day ... and even then, I’ll be cautious. Just a hunch, but I think this is the tip of the ice berg.
  22. I got stuck behind someone at Piggly Wiggly who was writing a check in the express lane ... sorta defeats the point, doesn’t it?
  23. Once players figure out he can’t coach, he’s not going to be able to recruit either. At least Eaves won a natty.
  24. And they found the grass to be Brown... Not having a meddling owner is a huge advantage. The Packers’ front office might not be batting .1000, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they’ve been a Top 5 franchise throughout the salary cap era.
