  1. Fricken Booger was praying openly for a Vikings win. I don't really agree and I think Booger is generally awful. I thought tonight was one of his better/more impartial games. Tonight’s call was fine. That doesn’t change the fact that he openly campaigned to invalidate the result of the GB/DET game on MNF.
  2. We ‘gifted’ them 3TO
  3. C’mom - you’d take Dak over Aaron Rodgers? He has the best offensive line in football, Zeke Elliot as his safety blanket, and a better pair of wide receivers in Cooper and Cobb ... and is still only 7-7. Plus, in addition to the better record, Rodgers also has a better passer rating. Would you still take Dak and Cousins over Rodgers?
  4. Love how the MNF crew is making excuses for the Vikings without Cook. Like Aaron Rodgers ever had a legit RB while he was in his prime.
  5. A little behind on the DVR ... but the irony of Anthony Barr getting hurt against the Packers
  6. I went back and re-watched that play. There maybe was one extra guy on the field to celebrate the turnover, but it didn’t impact the play. I hate seeing stuff like that penalized unless it’s egregious. On the second drive of the first half, the Vikings also played the sound of a clock striking midnight on second down (not 3rd or 4th). But seriously, I hope the organization gets find for playing their horn during the play.
  7. Anyone else notice the Vikings blew their friggin’ horn: 1) After the Jones fumble while the play was still going (pretty sure you can’t do that) 2) After the Vikings threw a challenge flag on the Lazard no catch (not even after the play was overturned, but right when the flag was thrown)
  8. [sarcasm]Booger again ... awesome.[/sarcasm]
  9. I was living in Vikings’ country in 2009 and their fans were insufferable. They were convinced Favre was going to deliver them a Super Bowl victory and that he would go into the HOF as a Viking (even though that’s not a thing). They ordered custom #4 jerseys with ‘Thanks Ted’ on the nameplate as if TT had somehow bungled the QB situation in Green Bay and gifted them their QB of destiny. I’ve never rooted harder for a team to lose. And TT handled that situation masterfuly by hanging on to his QB of destiny and using the pick they acquired from the Jets to trade up for Clay Matthews.
  10. I watch Favre throwing that INT for the Vkes against the Saints "This is not Detroit this is the Super Bowl!!" That sound bite has always confused me. Was the announcer implying Favre’s mistake was so bad, it would ordinarily only be made by a Lions’ quarterback?
  11. Moot point ... Saints have put up 10 unanswered.
  12. Yes, a better NFC record. But that would be equalized if the Saints lose to an AFC opponent (Titans) and the Packers lose to another NFC opponent (Vikings).
  13. I was looking at it yesterday and got down to strength of victory tiebreaker, I didn't look it up but I think Saints must beat us there if they lose this week and win next while Packers do the opposite. The Saints currently have a better SOV than the Packers (0.475 vs. 0.432). I assume beating Detroit wouldn’t help much, so the Packers still probably need to beat Minnesota to get a bye. (At least I think that’s how it works).
  14. What’s the tie-breaker situation if the Packers and Saints both finish 12-4, assuming the Packers lose to the Vikings and the Saints lose to the Titans? I know the Packers have held a tie-breaker on the basis of their better NFC record, but a Saints loss today to an AFC opponent (and subsequent GB loss on MNF) would put them on even footing again. Edit: After a little research, I think the Saints would get the bye on the basis of a better strength of victory (currently 0.475 vs. 0.432).
  15. The way the Saints use Taysom Hill is the way I thought the Patriots would use Tim Tebow (as a 3rd QB/TE/RB and ST guy). Just think of how much easier it is for the Saints to set their game day roster. I wonder if Tebow was ever offered such an opportunity with the Pats? He could have won 3 rings as the first modern ‘super-back.’
  16. The FOX pregrame just ran a story on the Colts’ defection from Baltimore. I recall the 30 for 30 special from 10 years ago, but otherwise was far too young to recall the event first hand. A few thoughts: 1) If a state tries to seize a privately owned team through eminent domain, I’ll automatically side with the owner (even if they’re a greedy dope). 2) My hometown of 250,000 (pop. of Brown County around 2000) funded a major stadium renovation with a 15-year 1/2% sales tax. What the heck was Baltimore’s problem?
  17. No matter what happens on Monday, I’m happy with this season (please remind me of that in the GT). They were bad last year and now I can say with confidence that the 2019 Green Bay Packers are definitely ‘less bad.’ Much of what’s already been said regarding this season’s narrative is true. If they beat the Vikings and go 6-0 in the North, they might be a contender. If not, they’ll face questions about their strength of schedule and alarming yardage differential all year long.

  19. I’ll probably get around to the sequel trilogy if my young son ever develops an interest in Star Wars. If I understand Wikipedia correctly, the primary antagonist in Episode 9 is the same as Return of the Jedi. Does that strike anyone else as really lazy? It minimizes the significance of Vader killing Palpatine, which is also Anakin’s redeeming moment (rejecting the dark side, giving his life for his son’s).

  22. I feel bad for Crosby. I thought it was his year. Although since the Packers have been so efficient in the red zone, he’s only had 17 attempts (going 16-17). Conversesly, Will Lutz is 31-35.
  23. At 11-3, this team has exceeded my expectations for 2019. They may leave a lot to be desired, but winning > losing.
  24. Patience.... that comes next week. Back-to-back playoff killers? Wonder what the line will be for the Vikes game? I'm guessing the Vikes will be 5 point favorites or so. I’ll guess Vikings by 3 ... it will be very close (edge to the home team).
  25. I know this team leaves a lot to be desired, but they’re 11-3. Even if they go one-and-done in the playoffs, their cap is relatively healthy (unlike the Vikings) and they sill have a full compliment of draft picks next April (unlike the Bears).
