  1. The Seahawks also led the league in PED suspensions the year they won the Super Bowl.
  2. You would have thought winning Super Bowl XLV 3 years into his starting QB tenure would have endeared Aaron Rodgers to even the most die hard Favre fans ... apparently not.

  4. Here were the predictions I made before Week 1. The team’s health probably accounts for most of the difference between their 13-3 record and my 9-7 prediction. Not dropping a close game to the Lions also helped. That seemed to be a characteristic of recent underachieving Packer teams.

  6. I hope the snow lets up before tomorrow’s game. Weird things can happen in bad weather. Given the Seahawks’ injury woes and the Packers’ relative health, I’d prefer to face Seattle straight up without any interference from Mother Nature.

  8. I’m really happy for McCarthy ... wish is weren’t Dallas, but he deserves to be coaching in the NFL. Regarding the shortcomings of the Packers from 2015-2018, I agree there’s plenty of blame to go around; however, I place the majority of it on Mark Murphy for not recognizing the signs of cognitive decline in Ted Thompson when they were obvious to most fans. I also consider the struggles of the defense from 2011-2018 to be an organizational failure that should have rolled up to the CEO. I wish Murphy would have given Thompson the gold watch treatment a few years sooner.
  9. Mike McCarthy’s playoff record with Aaron Rodgers is 9-7. Sean Peyton’s playoff record with Drew Brees is 8-7. Virtually identical playoff records, each with a future HOF QB and a Super Bowl win, yet most NFL fans hold Sean Peyton in higher regard. Why is that?
  10. Since they could easily be playing the seahawks or eagles next week, I'll go with the under I honestly counted the Vikings out. They are my least favorite team and I found myself rooting for them because local sports talk radio would have been insufferable this week with all the Taysom Hill / Jared Cook talk.
  11. Someone better check whether they practiced on new years day...
  12. At the very least, he saves you a roster spot or two because on gameday, he’s effectively QB3, RB3, and TE3.
  13. Over / Under on # of times announcers mention Taysom Hill was released by the Packers next week: 3.5. Over / Under on # of times BF.net posters mention Taysom Hill was released by the Packers next week: 33.5. I’m not looking forward to the Jared Cook comments either.
  14. The Dallas Stars recently fired Jim Montgomery after a year and a half, despite a pretty decent record. He apparently just checked himself in to an alcohol rehab facility (good for him for trying to get right). Assuming he sticks to his treatment, I wonder if the Badgers would touch him? Montgomery won a NCAA national championship with Denver in 2017. Another name Badger fans should keep an eye on is Dave Hakstol, the former North Dakota and Philadelphia Flyers coach (currently an assistant with the Maple Leaves). He made the NCAA tournament in all 11 seasons as head coach at UND and left on good terms when he took the Flyers job. The only knock on Hakstol is that he didn’t win a national championship at UND, despite making the Frozen Four 7 times; however, his successor won a natty in 2016 with Hakstol’s players.
  15. The irony of watching the At Home with Baker Mayfield commercials during the playoffs is that Baker Mayfield is at home during the playoffs.
  16. Except Freddie wasn't the interim HC in 2018. Freddie was the interim OC & play-caller. 1st time regularly holding those roles in his life. The Interim HC was Greg Williams and he didn't receive an interview after that 5-3 finish. Ahhh ... thank you. I wonder if Gregg Williams is forever tainted by the Saints’ Bounty-Gate scandal?
  17. ^^^ I had no problem with the Browns retaining Kitchens after he went 5-3 as the interim HC and earned the players’ respect. But given what transpired (the t-shirt was a bad look), I agree with moving on.
  18. Normally, I back the coaches in these short tenure situations, but I suspect Kitchens was the players’ coach. The players asked Dorsey to retain Kitchens after the team showed improvement in 2018 and Dorsey obliged. Dorsey trusted the players, the players failed Dorsey, and now Dorsey is free to hire an adult.
  19. I’m guessing the Patriots didn’t spy on the Dolphins this week. Really makes you wonder ...
  20. Who saw the Browns regressing this year? 7-8-1 to 6-10. Ouch.
  21. For a guy who hasn’t been under much pressure, he sure hasn’t looked good.
  22. Is there a worse #1 seed in history if they pull this comeback and Seattle wins? I can't think of one. 2010 Falcons we annihilated in the divisional round is a contender. I think the 2010 Falcons were a good team. They just ran into the 2010 Packers who were peaking at the right time. How clutch was Tramon before half?
  23. I’d settle for just a stop.
  24. [sarcasm]Do the Packers get a bye if they win? FOX hasn’t been very clear.[/sarcasm]
  25. Man, if they can just get within 7 and make it a game ...
