  1. braun's approach makes me sick to my stomach
  2. If I go to a game with 4 or 5 people we play the "Dollar Game". I don't know if that's what it's actually called or what, but basically you start with one dollar, and if the brewers get an out you pass it to your right and add a dollar. If they get on base you take the pot. Also, at any time you can say "FOUL BALL" before the pitch, and if you're right, you take a dollar out of the pot, and if you're wrong you add one. It's pretty good when everyone's got a few beers in them and it's a blowout.
  3. Manny Pack Parra... Corey reminds me of a daddy long legs... also ryan braun runs like he has no bones maybe we could work that in?
  4. When FSN proves to me they can manage to put the camera on the batter for every single pitch during a game I'll consider watching any other program that airs on that station. Until then, Sportscenter has some idiots giving analysis, but it's still the best show of it's kind on TV. And Scott van Pelt is a funny, funny man.
  5. My dad hates pretty much every player the brewers have ever had except shouse, hart and kapler, and has some terrible nicknames for a lot of them. Derrick Turnblow Eric "Gag Me" Gagne Rickie-Ticky-Tavy Prince "I'm a terrible" Fielder Jeff Soup-Can. Turnblow is kind of growing on me, even though I like Derrick. All I've got is Bill "Do-It-All" Hall and I used to call TGJ "4-3" but if he keeps hitting sleazy bloop singles at this rate I might have to reconsider
  6. Prince with no homers through 12 games or Braun with no walks? I'm going to have to go with Braun. At this point I don't know why opposing pitchers are even throwing him anything to hit with runners on, as his approach really looks awful thus far. Prince has too much power for this drought to go on much longer, but pitchers are going to figure Braun's Francoeur-esque approach pretty soon. He's proven last year that he can make some adjustments and hopefully he does so again this year, but he's too good of a hitter to waste at-bats by swinging at junk.
  7. If you're including this year's production in the discussion, which I admit is more than a little premature 12 games in, Rickie is hitting .213 with an OBP of .338. If he plays 140 games (a modest projection assuming health) this year he's on pace for 35 homers 35 steals and 152 runs. If Phillips isn't shaded towards 2nd on that play a couple days ago and Rickie hits that 400 foot out a few days ago 3 more feet to the left I feel like this topic doesn't even get started. The years past are what I think we need to be judging Rickie on, and he's only played in about 100 games each of those three years. If you project his numbers in each year to about 140 games he's a 20/30 guy who routinely has an OBP 100 points or more higher than his BA. And these are all in years where when he actually was on the field, he was far from 100 percent healthy. The only thing holding Rickie back has been injuries in my opinion. The average leadoff hitter last year had a .277/.341/.427 line, and the average 2nd baseman had a .272/.341/.418 line. I'll take Rickie's .234/.374/.418 from his injury plagued 2007 over both of these, and we haven't seen the best of him yet. Defensively Rickie isn't good by any means, but we have been seeing improvement year to year, and I don't think sayin he'll be an average fielding 2nd baseman is outrageous. Offensively I'd be willing to say Weeks is already a top 5 second baseman, so the only area I'm even worried about him is on the defensive side.
  8. So is Cueto's stuff just filthy or are we just trying to pull everything? Gameday sucks.
  9. Watching something good happen for the brewers on gamecast is like having your buddy call you from a party to tell you how much fun he's having
  10. I remember watching that cold pizza interview after school one day and laughing out loud about 5 different times. "Well that was in Coors Field which is a really tough park to hit in, the sun's in your eyes and the air is really thick." What I'm going to miss the most is definately the soundbites he provides. He's got that fake "aw shucks" thing going on that Brett used to do back in the day.
  11. I'm just hoping not to see the wave in a one run game today. A sweep would be nice too...
  12. You know the one I'm talking about. The guy rocking the stache and throwback jerseys every home game right next to the visitor's dugout. You see him on TV pretty much every time a right handed batter is up or we score a run. I love that guy. I feel like he's a guy who has a story to tell, and hopefully someone here can enlighten me as to who he is. p.s. first post, but I've been reading forever.
