http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/125783133.html "The longer I play him, the longer 'Yuni' sits out," said Roenicke. "I don't want 'Yuni' sitting out too long. I still want him to have the opportunity to get it back together. We'll see how tonight's game goes. I may have Josh back in there tomorrow or the next day." As for future plans at short, Roenicke said, "It's who is playing better. I don't know if it's strickly 50-50 (in splitting time). Oh joy...Slightly encouraging, but very discouraging at the same time. The fact that he even thinks Yuni can get it together, or ever had it together, really bothers me.
I've never gotten the 6:40 local start times for Arizona, and I'm pretty sure they've been doing that a while. Basically every other team starts at 7:05 or 7:10 local time on week nights. Anyone know the reasoning? Really makes no sense at all considering how hot it is there and essentially guaranteeing 25-30 minutes more of the game being played in daylight hours. Wonder if it has something to do with the age of the population there? Seeing as they shut the roof this time of year, I doubt the weather is a factor at all.
As far as Green goes, I don't think the correct word is that they CAN'T risk calling up, but that they WON'T. I just don't see Melvin doing it, or he probably would've already honestly.
Completely agree with everything you just said. I know everyone is infatuated with Green, but I just don't think it's a good idea to throw him into the fire in a pennant race. He might be the answer next year, but not now. I would love to pick up Betemit or Dobbs for the rest of this year.
Betemit .285/.345/.415 McGehee .221/.276/.310 Regardless of career stats, Betemit would be an upgrade over McGehee for the rest of the year. Or call up Green. Either is better than McGehee. He sucks.
Yeah, technically that is the SS's play there so I don't blame Wilson for going after it. McGehee had it in his glove, so he should've held on. Either way, one of them should've called it.
