    Let's hope Doug gets Wilson Betemit soon to play 3B. He'd look good in this lineup. It was just reported that talks are going on, so it could go down soon.

    Yes, please. I hope Doug gets this done soon. He'd be a great option at 3rd base. Switch-hitter too having a pretty good year.

    Love the new lineup, except that Morgan should leadoff over Hart. Makes more sense. Hart hits great in the 2 hole, and Morgan is used to being a leadoff hitter. Oh well, at least it's a step in the right direction. Just need a new SS and 3B, or at least one, and we're good.

    Melvin really needs to do something quick about SS and 3B. Can't go the rest of the season with a black hole in the 6 and 7 spots. Although, Yuni is actually hitting better than McGehee right now even though he's the one more likely to be replaced. Either way though, both are terrible.

    Yeah, the Mets front office is probably furious about this, lol. I love it. Melvin got a steal here. It's nice to not have to worry about that anymore. Just use Ax and K-Rod based on how the situation dictates.

    Well, this is an interesting twist. I bet the Mets are pissed, lol. I do like being able to use him how Roenicke and Melvin see fit though. Either way, it's a great 8th and 9th inning tandem. And even if Ax struggles, at least there is no worry of having to switch over to K-Rod now either.

    Yeah, I don't think the demotion helped at all. He was pitching great at the time, and now he doesn't seem to be himself. Either way, they can't go on with him being the only lefty in the pen. They either need to bring Stetter back when he's healthy, or acquire another lefty.

    And again Braun looked to be struggling jogging home on that hit by Fielder there. Hopefully he's just winded from the altitude.

    Not saying I agree with not skipping Narveson, I just highly doubt he will.

    Highly doubt Narveson gets skipped. Roenicke has stuck with the same rotation most of the year, and hasn't skipped him at all. I don't expect him to start now. Maybe in September in crunch time, but not in July.

    I agree that SS is a big need, but saying that not replacing Betancourt negates all the pitching improvements is way overblown. Without pitching we would go nowhere, and be nowhere. Winning starts with good pitching, which is why a reliever was top priority. A SS will put us over the top in my opinion, but it's certainly not a make or break situation either. I think Doug will bring a SS in, so I'm not worried.

    Roenicke is an idiot if he lets K-Rod close any games. Ax has earned the job, and should remain the closer. It's complete stupidity to let K-Rod get even close to 55 games finished.

    Anyone who thinks K-Rod will be the permanent closer from now on is not very smart. There's absolutely no way they are willing to pay $17.5 million for him next year. Ax will close for the rest of the season unless he completely falls off. Then they'd give K-Rod a shot. There's no way they give him the role otherwise though.

    Doug said on 1250 this morning that the list doesn't include top guys like Thornburg. So I think everyone can calm down about that now.
