  1. He was battling an ankle injury. His start was in jeopardy in the first place. So he probably got removed for precautionary reasons.
  2. I guess they just answered our question about whether or not Catalanotto can play 2nd anymore.
  3. Melvin really needs to start working the phones. Either that or give Tim Dillard a shot.
  4. Hopefully teams stay interested into the off-season. I would definitely think about trading him then. As of right now, I don't feel like it's a good move. We probably wouldn't get the starter we need, and I don't see Gerut being as good everyday in right. If we have time in the off-season to find a good replacement in right field that would be good. Maybe a Hardy/Hart package could get us a really good starter and prospects.
  5. They had to test the grittiness and gamer quotiant of Catalanotto before they gave him Joe Dillons number. Actually I was referring to Brad Nelson, but fair enough.
  6. Actually that was the worst inning since the last time Julio pitched.
  7. Wasn't Catalanotto #20 when he first came here? He is now #27. We all know how great the last guy to wear that number was.
  8. Of course we all know that Catalanotto and Gerut will both homer to get us back into the game.
  9. I no longer like our chances in this one with a 2 run deficit and climbing, and two of our biggest bats out of the game.
  10. Why Julio? I would've went with McClung in this spot. Maybe Coffey if he planned on Villy and DiFelice the next two innings. Doesn't make sense at all to me. Then he sat and yet Julio further blow it like Yost always did. Hopefully Coffey works his magic here and gets us out of this mess.
  11. Well nice job squashing that inning by Braun and Hall. Hall swings at ball 4 twice, then Braun swings at the first pitch. Just great. Should've sent Kendall home on Hart's single.
  12. I think there are literally less than 1,000 fans in the stadium tonight. Hopefully their new ballpark will attract fans. It actually looks really cool.
  13. 4 @ FLA (3-1) 3 @ATL (1-2) 3 vs COL (2-1) 3 vs CWS (2-1) 3 @ CLE (2-1) 3 @ DET (1-2) 3 vs MIN (2-1) 3 vs SF (3-0) 3 vs NYM (2-1) 18-10 24 HR (Fielder: 10, Braun: 8, Cameron: 6)
  14. I was as frustrated as anybody with all Sheets' injuries, but I just felt that it was right to give him an ovation for his time with the Brewers. Geoff Jenkins played horrible in his last year with the Brewers, but still got a standing ovation in his last game. Sheets deserved the same.
  15. My point is that Ben pitched good for the majority of last year, and he was a big reason why we made it to the playoffs. He tried to gut it out for the team in his last game, and then got booed for it. That just isn't right.
  16. Totally agree with this. The fact that the fans booed him in his last game really upset me. He showed a lot of heart and guts to try to go out there and get a big win for us. When it didn't work out, the fans showed no respect to him at all, especially after everything he did for this organization. I'm not saying that no fans respected him, because I was cheering for him, and I'm sure others did as well, but most booed him in that last game. I don't blame the guy for wanting out of here. I absolutely wish him the best wherever he ends up, and I will always be greatful for what he did for this team. Without him, there would've been no playoffs last year. He was a big part of this team when they were bad, and a big part of getting us back to respectability.
  17. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/29/sports/baseball/29hoffman.html?_r=2&ref=sports Very good read.
  18. Overall, I have been very impressed with Mat Gamel. His entire approach to the game so far has been remarkable. Especially due to the fact that he is so young and considered a top prospect. You would expect some of those guys to come out and be arrogant, and think they are too good to play hard. Gamel comes out and plays hard in all facets of the game, and he plays for the team to win. I know that he is only hitting .174, but his approach at the plate is very impressive. Other then a few swings at balls in the dirt, Gamel has shown patience at the plate, and has shown the ability to hit balls hard to all fields. He has gotten some bad luck with outfielders making nice plays, and hitting balls right at guys. I have really enjoyed watching him play. I think his offense will pick up once he starts to become more comfortable defensively. I think it's remarkable that he is putting out all the effort he needs to, so he can become an above-average third baseman. I didn't see that same effort with Ryan Braun for instance. I hope Mat Gamel stays here all year, because it is a joy to watch someone like him play the game.
  19. Zambrano needs some anger management. Where is Jack Nicholson when you need him? But seriously, I find this hilarious and not at all surprising. I was wondering how long it would take for his first outburst of the year to happen.
  20. Yep they countered, but luckily Macha was smart and used McGehee.
