  1. I agree. Roenicke pretty much alluded to that in his press conference after the game today. The injuries obviously don't help, but it's not an excuse for not winning games. Like today for instance. Should've easily won that game. This team wouldn't be much better even without the injuries. They just aren't playing well enough. That's all there is to it.
  2. Kottaras apparently only had a hamstring cramp. I guess we'll see if that's true or not soon.
  3. Keep in mind that we scored 16 runs the last time we put out a lineup like this, lol. But I still agree.
  4. I have a hard time believing that Izturis, Maysonet, and Ransom would do any better than Bianchi. So might as well try him out. Nothing to lose really. I don't really believe that any of them are far better than each other either though.
  5. Pretty much. Might as well pick up Bill Hall while we're at it. That would go with the trend.
  6. He is actually, lol. But anyways, sounds like Ramirez should be able to play tomorrow, which is good.
  7. Per Mike Vassallo on twitter. That was quick. I'm guessing they acted that quickly because of Ramirez's elbow injury as well. he'll probably miss a few days. Need the extra IF right away. The Brewers just can't catch a break. Looks like Ransom is getting thrown right into the fire.
  8. Brewers Hart 9 Morgan 8 Braun 7 Ramirez 5 Lucroy 2 Weeks 4 Ishikawa 3 Izturis 6 Gallardo 1 D'Backs Bloomquist 6 Roberts 4 Upton 9 Kubel 7 Young 8 Overbay 3 Bell 5 Blanco 2 Kennedy 1
  9. Sounds like Ax either cut off his hair, or is going to cut it off soon. Made a comment about donating it for cancer awareness like AJ Hawk did.
  10. No, the only rule is that guys have to stay back in the minors for 10 days after they are optioned. Unless there is an injury. There's no rule for how long you have to be up for. Could be a day if you want it to be.
  11. I agree. Maybe I'd feel differently if we had a win streak going or something, but right now it's getting old.
  12. Fiers tonight in hitter friendly Las Vegas with 25 MPH winds blowing out to CF, 7 IP 5 ER 4 H 2 BB 7 K. He set down 16 in a row, and 20 of 21, after a shaky first inning, in which he gave up 4 of his 5 runs. Looked very good the rest of the game though. Pretty good performance given the conditions and the park he was pitching in.

  14. I'm with you on this. Buzz it all off. Change it up.
  15. That's why I think he'll only be up for 4 days until a starter is recalled. He's basically the only real option right now on the 40-man, so they're just going with him for an extra arm until Tuesday. That's really the only logical explanation for this move in my opinion. If they were calling up a reliever for the whole time Estrada is down, there are plenty of guys more qualified for the job.
  16. Doesn't he have to be up for 10 days now at least? Or does that rule only apply to guys having to stay in the minors? No, that rule is for after someone is optioned back to the minors. They have to stay down for 10 days unless someone gets hurt on the MLB team.
  17. I just posted a new topic on this, but McClendon was recalled. That pretty much seals it for me that it won't be Parra. My guess is McClendon is just a 4-day fill-in until a starter is called up on Tuesday. He was the easy choice since he's on the 40-man roster already.
  18. Just saw this from Mike Vassallo on twitter. I'm guessing McClendon is just up for bullpen insurance until Tuesday. Then they'll send him back and call up a starter. Makes sense since he's already on the 40-man and no corresponding move was needed. He'll likely just be the emergency long-man. Have to think they would've made a move and recalled Henderson or someone else if they were going with Parra in the rotation. This pretty much seals it that they'll call up someone else to take that spot.
  19. I agree that Thornburg probably should just stay in the minors unless he's going to just stay in the rotation the rest of the season. For a few starts it may not be worth it to go with him over Fiers or Peralta. If he came up and stayed as the #5 starter, then it would be worth it. Still have to do what's best for the team though. It'll be interesting to see what they choose to do.
  20. Weird, or John Axford weird? That's a good point too. This is definitely something that I'd expect him to do. Still weird, but I guess not as much for Ax.
  21. I agree, that logic is ridiculous. If he's the best guy for the job then just call him up. There's absolutely no good reason not to. If they think he can handle the job now better than someone else then he should get the call, plain and simple.
  22. I agree. It's definitely weird. That's the first thing I thought when I saw it.
  23. This is what he might look like now. http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/317/037/97434356_display_image.jpg?1280254601
  24. Yeah, he tweeted this out last night. Just said #RIP with that pic under it. I think he's fooling everyone though. Probably cut his hair and arranged it like his facial hair to throw people off. Never know though. Maybe he cut everything off. Ax with no facial hair and a buzz cut would be weird.
  25. Fiers and Thornburg are both starting today, so both will be on their regular day on Tuesday when we need someone. Have to think it'll be one of those two. Mainly because Peralta has been struggling too. I think they have to DL Estrada right away though and call up Henderson or someone else to help out the pen. Then just dump Perez on Tuesday to call-up whoever is taking Estrada's place.
