  1. I say leave Hart at 1B, and re-sign him. He's got a few good years left in him. Maybe just hold onto Gamel as a bench player in case. Maybe get him some starts at 1B, 3B, corner OF, and DH. There's really no reason Gamel should come back in and be the everyday 1B after how Hart has played there. Leaving Hart there makes it easier to upgrade the offense. Outfielders are a lot easier to come by.
  2. Hernandez is already there. He was in uniform yesterday. This was covered in the thread on his signing.
  3. This is scaring the crap outta me. Even if he gets out of it, I still hate the decision, because I have to go through this circus act. I would've felt at ease with Greinke out there.
  4. Ax against the middle of the order over Greinke is a horrible, horrible decision. Not wanting Greinke to blow it is a stupid excuse, because Ax may do it anyway.
  5. Greinke better go 10, whether we score a run or not. He's only at 100 pitches. It would be typical Roenicke to pull him for K-Rod or Ax and then cause us to lose the game.
  6. I really could care less about Maysonet and Perez being DFA'd. Neither are really needed, and will probably clear waivers and get to Nashville anyway. We could've just gotten rid of Izturis instead though and not really noticed the difference. I'm fine with Hernandez as an innings eater, he'll probably do better than the guys we've had in that role since Estrada moved to the rotation.
  7. Yep, alphabetical order. Braves, then Brewers. The Cardinals better buckle up, because they're up next.
  8. That seems plausible. Him being thrown right into the rotation seems highly unlikely. Maybe Hall heard him wrong on that part.
  9. Yeah, even if he's coming in as a long-man, it's gotta mean Marcum is out for an extended period of time. They seemed set to go with Fiers in that role. Maybe it means Fiers is sticking in the rotation, and Hernandez is long-man. Vice-versa wouldn't make sense, they'd just go with Thornburg if that was the case. They'd probably rather have Hernandez in the pen, and Thornburg starting in AAA, which actually would make sense.
  10. This is really random if it's true. Not sure why we would even need him in the rotation either, unless Marcum is out for a long time or Estrada is heading back to the pen. I'd rather just leave Fiers or Thornburg, or both, in the rotation. Doesn't make any sense.
  11. Punk did pin Kane to get the win at No Way Out, so that logic says that Bryan is the #1 contender.
  12. Did we really need a separate topic for this? Lol. He sucks, so I'm glad he got DFA'd. About time. That's about all there is to say about it.
  13. Giants fans have evidently been voting for Cabrera a ton, but Braun is still well within striking distance. It's gonna be a close race. Probably won't matter though honestly, because Kemp will drop out due to injury.
  14. I could see it ending up that way, but they also made it seem like Big Show was heading to the title picture with his promo last night. Unless he's going after Sheamus and not Punk. Not really sure what else would be considered "bigger things". We'll just have to wait and see I guess. Plus, there's still Bryan and Jericho and Orton will be returning. Will be interesting to see what they do for storylines.
  15. Well, he didn't necessarily need to go on the DL with Conrad being DFA'd. Two more moves will be made this weekend when Izturis and Ishikawa return, and Marcum's DL stint could be backdated. I guess we'll see if Roenicke says anything today.
  16. Has anyone heard anything further on Marcum's injury? I figured we would've heard something by now.
  17. This is awesome! Really excited to watch tonight's game now.
  18. Wait, who said he was getting examined by a surgeon? I hadn't heard that. All I heard was that he was getting examined by the team doctor, William Raasch.
  19. That's what I'm thinking too. If this was just going to be 1 start or so, it wouldn't follow normal Brewer protocol to call up someone like Thornburg to make it. That's a good point. That's why I said earlier that it would likely be Parra. It surprises me that it could be Thornburg. Makes me think that Marcum is headed for the DL.
  20. Roenicke has given us all hope now that it'll be Thornburg, but then he'll turn around and crush our hopes and dreams and announce that it's Vargas or McClung. In which case I'd rather just have Parra start.
  21. I guess they decided to save the bullpen, which is fine. If they do end up giving Thornburg a shot it'll be nice to see, but I'd like to see him get more than just 1 start. I would've rather just seen him fill Estrada's spot if he was an option to be called up all along. Either way, it would be cool to see him pitch. Better than seeing Manny Parra. It just seemed like a typical Brewer move to go with Parra, but I guess they are thinking this time. If it ends up being Vargas or McClung I might puke.
  22. Most likely yes. It went pretty far. I initially thought it was going to hit the NYCE Club.
