  1. The reason they did it was just to acknowledge CM Punk so the chants wouldn't be worse than they actually were. It was only done because the show was in Chicago obviously. It was also a good way for Heyman to turn it around on the fans and get good heat for Lesnar. It didn't mean anything as far as Punk coming back.
  2. Sometimes the internet is wrong. I was really hoping for Bad News Barrett to come out after Punk's music played. Would've been an epic troll job. "Oh, you were expecting CM Punk? Well, I'm afraid I've got some bad news!" Would've been hilarious. If Punk won't come back for his hometown crowd, then he's not coming back.
  3. Then explain why a guy like Dolph Ziggler got buried? There are plenty more examples, but the fans have always been behind him and they buried him. Vince and HHH push who THEY think deserves a push, and bury who THEY want to bury. They don't care who the crowd wants pushed. Sure, there are certain cases where they listen to the audience, but really they just go by whatever the hell they want. The crowd loves Daniel Bryan and CM Punk, but Vince doesn't think they can draw so he pushes someone else. Guys like Cena, who the majority of people hate draw money. They go by who they think will draw, and make knee jerk reactions based of small sample sizes. If they really gave certain guys a shot they would be able to draw. Like with Bryan, he's never given him a legit chance to be the headliner. I think it's headed there, but it's taken way longer than it should have.
  4. As of right now, this is my prediction. 1. Weeks 2. Segura 3. Braun 4. Ramirez 5. Lucroy 6. Gomez 7. Reynolds/Francisco 8. Davis 9. Pitcher
  5. I like how people think that WWE cares about how the crowd reacts. They couldn't care less. If they did, then there would be plenty of change already. They don't listen to their fans. I mean sure, they probably don't want CM Punk chants the entire show, but in the end do they really care? No. They'll stick with what they've had planned all along. Chanting CM Punk or Daniel Bryan really makes no difference. The only thing that would make a difference is if everyone stops watching and going to events completely. The fact is that no matter how the crowd is reacting, they all bought tickets, and that's all that matters to WWE. No one is actually making any kind of a statement. If you don't like what's going on, then don't go. It's as simple as that.
  6. Mat Gamel just has unreal bad luck. Unbelievable. Feel terrible for him.
  7. What's with these 47 pictures? 47 is tomorrow. Today it's 48. http://i62.tinypic.com/23lkk9.jpg http://i60.tinypic.com/2hhhwxs.jpg
  8. Ended today, announced Monday at 11 am.
  9. Bullet dodged. Now it's time to gear up for the return of K-Rod.
  10. If he Doug wants a pitcher with closing experience, I'd much prefer that he just bring back K-Rod. He's a much safer option than Marmol.
  11. Stuff like this has happened before. Stone Cold even walked out in the summer of 2002, because he refused to job to Lesnar on Raw. He was gone for a solid 8 months until he finally resolved things with Vince. Then he had his match at WrestleMania 19 with The Rock and called it a career. He says now that this was the one decision he deeply regrets in his wrestling career. Can't say I blame him though, or Punk. Batista coming back and getting to headline WrestleMania when he's clearly not in wrestling shape yet is ridiculous. He was clearly winded after being in the Rumble match for 5-10 minutes. Him being on WrestleMania is fine, but the guys who have been there for the whole year busting ass are the ones who should be main eventing WrestleMania. The Rock crapped out conditioning wise about halfway into his match with Cena when he first came back. The same thing will happen with Batista. Then there's the fact that the crowd will be completely against him too. If Batista/Orton goes on last, it will be an absolute disaster.
  12. I definitely understand you not wanting to trade for Ike specifically, but I just don't understand the thought of having another player who hasn't played 1B, be our regular 1B. Haven't we learned our lesson with Francisco, Gonzalez and Betancourt? The difference is that Ramirez isn't a middle IF or a butcher at 3B like Francisco. I feel that he could be a decent fielder at 1B. It wouldn't be my first option. I was just saying if a trade was going to be made, I'd rather pick up a 3B than a 1B. Ramirez will hold up better health wise playing 1B too.
  13. As far as trading for Ike Davis goes, it's just not gonna happen. They were talking to Garza for weeks, and obviously knew before they signed Reynolds and Overbay that they had a great chance at signing him. Melvin wouldn't have bothered making those moves if he was planning on trading a SP for Ike Davis after signing Garza. Reynolds was told that he had a good shot at starting too. They made those moves trying to avoid giving up anything in a trade. It's just not gonna happen, and I'm glad that it won't. I like Roderick's idea of trading for a 3B and moving Ramirez to 1B a lot better if a trade was going to be made. That makes a lot more sense to me. The 1B options out there are just incredibly underwhelming for their price tag in a trade.
  14. I love Mick Foley! Here are his thoughts and frustrations after watching the Rumble. I think he speaks for EVERYONE here. https://www.facebook.com/RealMickFoley/posts/766587886704685
  15. I think he would've been trade bait at the deadline even before Garza was signed. This doesn't really change that, other than the fact that Garza will help the Brewers win more games. Will it be enough to contend? That's the question. But given the fact that Yo was involved in rumors at last year's deadline, I don't see why he wouldn't be made available again if the Brewers end up in the same spot again.
  16. Still haven't signed that veteran RP with closing experience that DM said he wanted. I still think that move will be made to fill the 7th inning role. Henderson is closer, Kintzler setup, Gorz and Smith as lefties, Thornburg long man, and that leaves the Badenhop type role from last year. I think Wooten wins that job. Leaves a bullpen of Henderson, Kintzler, vet RP, Wooten, Gorz, Smith, Thornburg. I think guys to watch for are K-Rod, Gregg, Marmol, Francisco, and a few others.
  17. I'm excited about Lepay. I was getting worried that Coshun was in line to take BA's job when he inevitably moves on. Lepay should be a big upgrade over Coshun. Coshun is good in his pre and post game role, but he just isn't a good fit in play-by-play. I'm excited to listen to Lepay.
  18. I bet the deal gets finished tomorrow, and he gets introduced at Fan Fest as an added attraction.
  19. Yep, this club lacks grit right now.
  20. We now have @BrewerNation, McCalvy, Haudricourt, and Rosenthal all saying it's not medical. So that makes me feel better for sure.
  21. Rotation: Gallardo, Garza, Lohse, Estrada, Peralta Bullpen: Henderson, Kintzler, K-Rod (or some of vet), Gorzelanny, Smith, Wooten, Thornburg Outfield: Davis, Gomez, Braun, Schafer Infield: Ramirez, Segura, Gennett, Reynolds, Overbay, Francisco, Bianchi Catcher: Lucroy, Maldonado
  22. My guess is Weeks gets traded. That clears one spot.
  23. YES! Love this signing. Reasonable dollar figure for a good pitcher and no draft pick compensation. Like the look of this rotation now. Very solid.
  24. Man, I would love this signing if those are the numbers. Would've preferred 3 years instead of 4, but I'll take it.
