  1. Anyone else notice that the infield dirt has changed this season? I first noticed it yesterday. Last year it was the same as the dirt on the warning track and around the field. This year it's a different color. Anyone have any info on this?
  2. Definitely had an easier time on AT&T on Sunday than I did on Friday. We'll see how it is going forward I guess.
  3. I've been very impressed with Gonzalez and Gamel. I now feel at ease with certain balls hit towards SS and 1B that I would've cringed at last year. Ramirez is like McGehee basically. I don't really see much difference overall. Weeks has had some shaky moments as always, but he's fine. The OF hasn't been a problem at all yet. Gomez and Morgan still help cover some of Braun and Hart's weaknesses. But those 2 are good enough out there. At least they have good arms. Braun's already made some great throws from the outfield. Lucroy will be good as always. I'd like to see how some of the bench players do in he field, but at the same time I don't really care if they play or not.
  4. This is a really good point. That's a good reason to save Estrada. Now it'll probably be Parra as the main option to back-up Marcum.
  5. Exactly, that was in no way a long relief situation. Going with Estrada and Dillard made it into one, but when Estrada entered it was a 3-1 game in the 6th inning. That's not a long relief situation at all. I don't see why 4 different relievers couldn't have been used there to cover the last 4 innings. Could've went Estrada, Loe in the 6th and 7th. Then see what the score was after that, and if it was close then go with some combo of Veras, K-Rod, and Ax depending on the situation.
  6. I agree, it just wasn't a necessary move. Didn't really end up mattering much, but it was a good point to bring it up. Could've just used a different pitcher for that inning, or simply just used Estrada for one inning. But yeah, lots of managers make that move. It is what it is. I can't really hold it against him, even if I would've done it differently. It wasn't necessarily a bad move.
  7. Yeah, he could've just not done a double switch and only went with Estrada for one inning. Especially since it was only a 2 run game at the time, and it was only the 6th inning. I would've rather seen Estrada for the 6th, and then stronger pitchers for the last few innings to try to keep the game close.
  8. I'd attribute the bad reception today to the big Opening Day crowd. Mainly because it seems like people on all carriers had problems.
  9. Well, AT&T worked pretty badly for me at the park today. Didn't notice any improvement.
  10. Today is the day! http://www.roemerphotoblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/10-Milwaukee-Bucks.jpg Everyone get excited! I know I am! http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/307365/6a00d83451b84f69e20111686adc0b970c-300wi.jpg
  11. I'm pretty confident the Brewers will get a deal done. It just seems more and more likely with all the other players getting extended around the league. Greinke wants to stay, Attanasio is willing to pay for him, and I think Melvin will be able to get him on a reasonable deal. Maybe 5 year $100 million or something like that. I think it gets done sometime near the beginning of the season.
  12. 0, because Ishikawa isn't a natural OF. Kotsay was an OF, and used to play CF. The same can't be said for Ishikawa. Playing him in a corner OF spot would be bad enough though. I'll believe that that's not going to happen when I don't see it! I mean, unless one of them gets hurt, you have literally two backup elite/very good CF/OF defenders on the bench every single game. Ish should play zero games in the OF this season, but knowing good ol' Ron, he'll find a way. Yep, and his explanation will be that he needs to find somewhere to get Ishikawa at-bats to keep him sharp.

  14. Great news. No more crappy WMLW when the Bucks are on. Brewers are now #1, as they should be.
  15. Yes! This is fantastic news. I've been incredibly frustrated in the past. I'm glad that's finally over with.

  17. Johnny was talking about Lord Tensai, because his name means "natural disaster".

  19. So say Izturis has already entered the game at 2B, SS, or 3B. Then someone gets hurt at one of those positions. Who the heck is gonna come in and play the IF? I guess they'd have to move Gamel or Braun to 3B or something.
  20. I just came here to say the exact same thing. This move makes absolutely zero sense. Either go with the versatile Conrad or the good hitter in Green. Either way it makes a lot more sense to carry another middle IF. Izturis as the only backup at 2B and 3B on top of SS is a horrible idea. To me the choice should've been either Conrad or Green. Ishikawa just doesn't have the versatility.
  21. That would be pretty sweet. I hope it happens.
  22. Cesar Izturis is our only backup at 2B, SS, 3B. We need help, ASAP.
  23. This scares the crap out of me. Mainly because it leaves Izturis as the only backup at 2B, SS, and 3B. I'd much rather have Conrad on the roster than move that happen. What also scares me is that the Kotsay comparison Roenicke made in explaining the move. I agree, if this was gonna be the move I'd much rather have Taylor Green. At least he can play 2B and 3B. Ugh. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/146050165.html
  24. I agree radman, gotta start by getting people to watch the show. Then worry about pushing new guys. Or better yet use the guys who draw ratings to get people over. Cena didn't really need to be put over by Rock as much as some people think he did. Guys that could use the bump are guys like Ziggler and Rhodes. Have a big name put them over to really get them to the top. Foley is a guy always willing to do it, and I think Rock and Austin would as well. Rock put over Lesnar back in 2002 when he was an up and coming star, so clearly he's willing to do it. Austin has always said he'd come back for the right match too. It's always been rumored to be Punk, which would be good too. Maybe it would get him over the edge and finally to the star level where he actually draws ratings. He's not there yet.
  25. Honestly, I think all of those things you listed will happen whether Greinke signs or not. The only thing I could see is maybe Hart is retained if we end up with Marcum instead of Greinke. Wolf's option would be picked up, but he'd be off the books after 2013 anyway. I think Schafer will take over CF, and Peralta and Fiers will get their shots. I'm not sure how sold they are on Gindl, which is what would determine is Hart is retained or not. Although, I guess Gamel's success would also be a factor. This team will have to rely on young players stepping up no matter what happens. It's what small market teams have to do. A lot of young players will need to step up big time for this team to stay in contention for 2013 and beyond. That's just how it is. Only so many big contracts can be afforded, and Greinke would be the last one.
