  1. Yep, I think that's what the plan has to be to stay cost effective. Can't overdue it with the big contracts. Should be fine though with just 2 high paid pitchers and 2 high paid position players. At least long-term that is. Short-term there's still Ramirez and Hart.
  2. Everyone pretty much knew Lesnar was coming back when he was spotted in Miami over the weekend. I knew he'd be on Raw once he didn't show up at WrestleMania. What they needed to do was hide him better, but he walks around with a big entourage, so it's kind of hard to do. People saw him, so that caused some people to do some digging. They found out he was talking to WWE, and then they found out he signed a contract. Wasn't much WWE could do to hide him at that point anyway, so they posted a picture of him on their twitter to get ratings most likely. Might as well since everyone knew he was coming.
  3. There's no way we trade K-Rod unless we are out of it at the deadline. And I don't see that happening. It's too enticing to have the 8th and 9th shut down all season.
  4. Man, I forgot about Yost. Make that 4 straight legends with the #3. Seriously, they better not give that number to a top prospect in the future. It seems to be cursed.
  5. Basically what will happen if Greinke walks if we'll re-sign Marcum to contract for more than he's worth, and exercise Wolf's option. I'd much rather just have Greinke long-term, and go with Peralta and Fiers in the two open spots.
  6. These are great. I love them every year. The one with Gamel and Aoki made me LOL. Especially at the end when the sausages run by, and Aoki just says HUH? Good stuff.
  7. Another thing though about tonight. The crowd there was absolutely fantastic. I haven't seen a crowd that pumped for Raw in a long, long time. It was great. They popped big time for Brock too. That's one of the biggest return pops I've ever heard. Speaking of Lesnar though, I heard his deal goes through WM 29. And it requires at least 2 appearances a month, with a total of 30-35. And that doesn't include the road to WM next year. There's also options for more appearances if mutually agreed upon. So he should be around quite a bit, which will be nice.
  8. Basically Vince realized that Rock, HHH, Taker, and HBK are gonna be off TV now, so he panicked and brought back Lesnar immediately. I'm personally glad to see him back, but I agree that long-term it doesn't help business. New stars need to start being pushed. Also, I love all the "Yes! Yes! Yes!" chants. Good stuff.
  9. Apparently this number can only be worn by legends. First this man, to the SS who shall not be named, and now our super bench player Cesar Izturis. http://www.millerparkdrunk.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/felipelopez.jpg
  10. That's a good point. Might as well go all the way if they are willing to shell out that amount of cash. They might be able to get Greinke for slightly less than Cain though, but the price has definitely gone up.
  11. It really doesn't surprise me that the Reds jumped to sign Votto to this deal. I honestly believe that this and the Cain signing were triggered by the ownership change for the Dodgers. Both teams felt they needed to do something or they'd lose their stars. I think they may regret the contract down the road though. The have more money than the Brewers, but this will still cost them a few key players in the coming years. Starting with Brandon Phillips.
  12. I'm encouraged by the report from Jon Heyman that Greinke doesn't wanna leave Milwaukee. He'll still get paid, but I'm hoping that it's not for more than 5 year $100 million. That's about the limit for me.
  13. From my experience, it usually gets harder and harder to get players to sign as Spring Training goes on. The very beginning is easiest, and it becomes very hard by at the end. I think players just become more focused by the end, whereas at the beginning they leave games earlier and such and are more open to it. Might be different for others, but that's what I've found myself.
  14. Yep, they really need to work on improving their other PPVs. The buy-rates have been abysmal on most of the PPVs they put out there. Not sure we'll see any improvement though.
  15. Can never have enough bullpen depth. Claim him and send him to AAA.
  16. Yeah, if Attanasio was willing to shell out the cash for CC, he'll do it for Greinke. 5 years $100 million is very possible.
  17. Reports are that Matt Cain is getting a 5 years $110 million deal from SF before Opening Day. That's bad news for the Brewers. Price for Greinke will only go up after that deal.
  18. Well, the Reds can kiss all of the other top free agents they'll have in the next few years goodbye.

  20. As for the rest of the show, all I can say is it was mostly confusing. Bryan gets squashed, Show wins, Kane wins, Miz actually gets the pinfall after being buried. The HHH/Taker match did the job. It was good and told a story. It really was the end of an era, and I enjoyed it. Also enjoyed the Punk/Y2J match, and I think we'll see a few more good ones from them coming up here. The Divas match sucked, and Brodus Clay coming out was pointless. I'm curious to see what happens after this now with most of those outcomes. Cody probably got the belt taken off him so he could be elevated, but why did Kane win? And are they actually going to push Miz again? We all know Johnny will reward him with a title match or something. The thing I'm most intrigued by is where they will go with Cena. Also, I have no idea what they'll do with Bryan.
  21. If Cena is ever gonna turn heel the perfect time is now. He went to mock Rock with the People's Elbow, and it backfired and he lost. I know it won't happen, but it gave me a glimpse of what could be, and I like it. I hope they at least give his character some more edge going forward because of this. That's what I thought would happen all along if Rock won.

  23. Yep, would much rather have Hart's bat in there than have both Gomez and Morgan in the lineup.
  24. This is the best we get on April Fool's this year? It's hilarious, don't get me wrong. But I was expecting a fake Greinke extension announcement or some bogus trade.
  25. I thought about it, and another possibility if that after either Cena or Rock win, doesn't really matter who, Brock comes out and attacks them. Then the next night on Raw he says Rock/Cena has to beat him before they can proclaim themselves the best. It fits in well, since neither fared well against Lesnar in the past. So that's another option that would also avoid having interference in the match.
