  1. I think the NFL would love a Brady/Rodgers Super Bowl, but not so convinced that a ton of fans would love to see Brady play in the Super Bowl. A lot of people are bored of it. The matchup the NFL gets is going to be really good no matter what. Buffalo getting its 5th shot with a young star at QB, or the new vs. old in Mahomes vs. whatever. They have to be pretty happy with the final four they got.
  2. I think the Packers are a better team and should win, but there are so many NFCCG demons for me at this point, that I am fully prepared for a crushing loss. One we lose at the end, or get crushed from the start. I'm just conditioned for something to go wrong.
  3. The pizza did change as I noted, but honestly, usually it's you that changes more than the food. I use strong words with food sometimes but really, I've had maybe 1 or 2 pizzas ever that were so bad I wouldn't want to eat them. There are all kinds of things I used to enjoy, like Egg McMcMuffins and Dunkin, that I find almost totally devoid of any flavor if I eat them now. Pizza Hut, Papa's, whatever, most of it is "fine" to me, it's just that once you move around and have authentic pies you start to realize your opinions on pizza from high school weren't especially well formed.
  4. If action guaranteed results, I could understand, but it doesn't so I guess don't see the point of making it the defining aspect of my fandom. People were ready to trade Cain in year two of five, Brewerfans spent the better part of a decade complaining about Braun's salary, some want to dump Yelich after 60 games because he makes money. Sure, last year's offense was bad, the other half of the team was pretty exciting though. Either way, it was 60 games in a pandemic, people are giving it way too much weight in my eyes. Just like projection systems & MLB front offices will use multiple years of data (& weight 2020 less than usual given its abbreviated nature) to set median expectations for future outcomes, so do I. Here's how I look at the results of 2020...we were lucky to have any at all. Guys were risking the lives & long term health of themselves & their family members/loved ones to play a game for my entertainment. I guess I just can't bring myself to say, "Thanks guys, but I was bored" after all that. Action doesn't guarantee results, but a regression after two strong playoff type seasons guarantees the fans to call for action. That's all I was saying. Fans are fans. I don't begrudge any fan for wanting to see a new corner infielder.
  5. It's based on him not really having the kind of "this is all I want to do with my life" attitude that other athletes have. I really don't think Braun wants to relocate for half the year again to Toronto or Kansas City and acclimate to a new clubhouse for what is most likely one season. They just had their third kid and he's made comments in the past about not wanting to miss out on that aspect of things. I don't see him wanting to come back unless it's on terms that are ideal for his family. I never got the impression that Braun loved baseball the way that some other guys do. At the end of last year he said he felt physically capable, but had to soul search as to whether he wanted to play.
  6. If you like Rocky's, you'll probably love Motor City Pizza Co frozen pizza. I've seen it at Walmart and Costco. It's the same style of pizza and probably about as greasy.
  7. I agree with the above but you can't fault the fans for wanting to see some action. That was one of the worst groups I've watched last year, despite that they were basically .500. They were incredibly boring to watch, and less fun than worse versions of the Brewers.
  8. I doubt there is any real market for Braun's services. If he wants to play, whatever deal he signs will be "cheap". What do you define as cheap? $2 million? $5 million? Huge potential variance there, especially for a team like the Brewers this off season.... I'm not so sure he wouldn't get a decent amount of attention. The market for DH salaries is kinda wild, probably much more than what people think, if both leagues go that route, I think he'd have plenty of options and some for decent money. I think the bigger issue is that he would only be willing to go through the rigamarole for a handful of places. San Diego, LA, Anaheim, Milwaukee.
  9. I fully agree that they changed something and it doesn't taste the same. Pizza Hut was my favorite growing up and I have had it probably 4 or 5 times in the past decade. Dominos seems to be better than I remember as kid, but not enough to become a staple in my family rotation. I'll also say that I think Little Caesars changed for the better. They make a much more respectable pie and haven't increased prices much. Even my picky, German wife likes them, probably more for the crazy bread. At the end of the day, if I'm getting pizza its usually something local or Costco if doing a larger gathering. Hard to beat the value and quality of a Costco pizza I worked at Pizza Hut in high school. A couple of years ago though, they changed the sauce, cheese and the pan in which the "pan pizza" is made. It was ok in high school, I avoid it now. If I have to do a chain, I go to Domino's, but I find that if I have that a couple weeks in a row I get sick of the taste as well. They are far and away the closest (among chains) to an authentic Neapolitan but still pretty far. I recently bought an Ooni Fyra, so I'm pretty much strictly homemade from here on out unless traveling.
  10. Who though? Other than Justin Turner (who is 36), the free agent 3B market is pretty bad. Many believe that LeMahieu wouldn't be an effective everyday 3B. You are looking at guys like Gyorko, Todd Frazier, Maikel Franco, Tommy LaStella or Marwin Gonzalez. Last I checked Gyorko was the third best available, so, yeah, this is the reality. I'd rather give the job to Urias, which, yeah, I know.
  11. Easily? Why wouldn't that be easily possible?
  12. The players on a roster haven't spent their entire lives in their host city, I'm sure many if not most have played football in the cold and find it minimally annoying, much like most of the Packers probably do. There are some advantages, like knowing the ideal cleat to wear on a specific field, but as far as catching a cold ball and things like that I really doubt that there's any kind of huge advantage. I've watched enough hot-weather QBs dominate in cold-weather cities. Plus, the whole notion that cold weather teams are used it when they realistically play 2 or maybe 3 games in it per year, and visiting teams have likely been in the cold already this year, is sort of overblown. So, I think the weather can be a factor for sure, but affects both teams, and I would hesitate to call it a major impact to really anyone other than kickers. I think HFA is a substantial edge, but not really because of weather. Simply because it's really nice to be around "your stuff" and not in a strange environment. Franchise playoff records in weather really you next to nothing. How many of those games were they favored to win? I am sure there are many factors contributing to those losses more than it just being cold. His hand already being hurt is probably the most significant thing when it comes to weather.
  13. I don't think the weather is really all that big of a difference to professional athletes, it's that he's nursing a bad injury, which you always want to do in a climate-controlled environment as opposed to 30 degrees. The only way I see the Rams winning this game is if the Packers revert to just getting gutted up the middle by the run. That will slow things down and play into their hands. If the Packers go up 2 scores at any point the game is basically over. They are just not built or in the condition health-wise to come back from that.
  14. I hate basically all schedule stats. It's easier to just go down the line and see when a team played a bunch of flower lilies, like in the case of Pittsburgh. It doesn't indicate when you played a team, how they were playing at the time, who was hurt, etc., and NFL teams go through such ebbs and flows that I find it more fruitful to just look at who is playing hot at the moment. I'm slightly biased, but I think the Packers will win the Super Bowl. There is a good mix of talent on both sides of the ball and Rodgers just looks like a man on a mission. I just don't think anyone will get in his way, and they have so many complementary players to help. They're sitting right about where I always thought they had to get to win another title: Rodgers playing lights out and making their offense legit, with a defense that's teetering around top 1/3 in the league. Much like in 2014, except this year I think the competition isn't as good.
  15. I think something's gone wrong if Veldheer plays. Someone got hurt or manhandled. They don't want their run dashed by one lineman having a bad day.
  16. The thin crust is quite good for what it is. The pan pizza is prepped by putting about an inch of oil in a pan and baking it. It is literally a donut with sauce and cheese on top.
  17. TBH if the Packers were going to have a catastrophic injury, it couldn't have happened at a better spot. There are far worse scenarios than a backup LT with 50 career starts, not to mention they lost him already for 1/4 of the season and dealt with it.
  18. Just don't think the Packers will lose in the NFC unless Rodgers has a very bad game. I feel a little bit better about things given that he had such uncharacteristic moments in the first game with Tampa. I just don't see that sort of disaster unfolding again. I do hope that if they do face Tampa, AJ Dillon is part of the plan.
  19. Titans have a routine of stomping on logos.
  20. Yes, that was the infamous Favre 6-INT game.
  21. It's an airborne virus, they were in the same house & rooms for extended periods of time and they had masks off for extended periods of time. None of this is surprising at all. To further add anecdotal stories, I was exposed to the virus for nearly 2 weeks straight in close quarters from my MIL and then my wife. I had 2-3 days where I didn't feel very good (felt like a head cold and then some drainage into my lungs), but never tested positive through 3 rapid tests. I don't know if that means I am immune or if I got it and recovered between tests, but this is definitely a strange virus. That isn't all that strange. No virus ever gets to everybody even if they are in close contact with it. The hysteria over this has naturally led people to assume if they're around someone who had it, they have it, but even if nobody took a single precaution, there would be millions of people who never get infected.
  22. It'll be a catastrophic failure if the Packers don't win the NFC. If they were waiting for everything to fall in their favor, it's now. They shouldn't lose to any of these teams at Lambeau Field even if it can't be packed to the gills.
  23. The Steelers sucked. They played nobody. They got the NFC East and and a bunch of other scattered doormats, including the AFC South which got them JAC and HOU. I thought they'd win tonight, but had them out next round. Oddly, I'm starting to think Baltimore wins the AFC.
  24. I guess I don't see them as all that different but yes, if I had to pick, I'll take the Rams and let Tampa/New Orleans go at it. Playing the Bears would be ideal
  25. I expect the Packers to win by 10+, but let's not forget they were crushed in an NFCCG in which the opposing QB went 4 of 6. Edit: He was 6 of 8.
