I think people need to give Tampa a bit of credit for being an annoying, pesky lineup to pitch against (familiar?) and appreciate that Miz has largely battled to keep them from scoring.

Yeah...it's hard to argue any of this. I thought they knew something we didn't. Like they worked him out and thought wow, we could use this. Then he enters a 10-0 game it sure feels like a lifetime achievement award. You can't have both he and Woodruff on this roster if that's the case. Yes, even Patrick, the human BB is a better choice.

It's also why I wouldn't have considered him to close. He's never done it. It's not the same thing as starting. He isn't getting the strikeouts that he was and he's been laboring, I completely understand Murphy's logic in almost everything he did last night. There's a question to be asked of what made Harrison/Woodruff better than Chad Patrick. That's my only gripe thus far.

The question of "Why do you have Harrison and Woodruff on the roster only to throw meaningless innings?" is a FAR more valid critique than "How could you not let Miz close Game 4 with a 3-0 lead?"

I think Tampa is going to take tonight. I think Miz is running out of steam. The hot takes are going to be nauseating as far as him not being "the guy" but I just think he's battled past capacity. I like our chances to close it out on Friday. Just that Tampa is a good team and I think they'll protect their turf on life support.

I'll believe it when I see it. I've seen this "they burned through their pitchers" schtick before and sometimes it ends with Buffalo Wild Wings Mahoney throwing 7 shutout innings.

I mean, kinda? The flow of things definitely matters, but I think everyone would have been ecstatic with 3-2 flying back to MKE. I would still feel like we're going to win if that dreaded scenario unfolds. Anxiety goes through the roof, but I'd still like the odds. All that said, it's time for Miz to play like a Cy Young winner.

In this scenario things are not going great and they absolutely have to start setting up how they want the MKE games to look. So yeah, I would probably guess that's exactly what happens. Can't burn good arms chasing a deficit tonight. Would be a lot easier to watch them go down 7-1 than a repeat of this.

The downside of that going south is just so significant that you trust someone else to protect a 3-run lead, highly probable they will. Using Miz in a blown save is as close as it gets to losing 2 games in an inning. To me, the justification is easier with 1 run than 3, but I wouldn't do either. Not up 3-0.

You can think that, but he has not pitched in a month and his September was yikes. I think I still probably would have used Drohan between the two, but those were the only two realistic choices imo. That or just letting Senzatela ride it out, which I think would have been my personal move. What people aren't saying enough is that 12 IP 4 ER loss isn't putting enough blame on the offense. FWIW, I was advocating Drohan off the roster for Woodruff before the playoffs even started. He wasn't awful this season but he was trending the wrong way at the wrong time. Patrick had a good year. The walks were bad, but he was the last guy on. Wonder if he watched last night with a smile in his head.
