  1. The Bucks ran the Warriors out of Oracle in the one game this year. They did split with them. Maybe this goes without saying, but if it comes down to those two teams it's very likely going to be decided by who is the hotter shooting team at the moment. I understand why the Warriors are the favorite and it's hard to feel any other way, but this also sort of has the makings of the season DET was a large underdog and went up with an aging powerhouse Lakers team and dominated it. Very, very different teams, just a reminiscent vibe. I don't expect the Bucks to dominate the Warriors, I'm not even sure I'd pick them to win. But I absolutely think they can compete with that team and have a chance. Another interesting note is that the Raptors were a dominant team in transition team all year. Second in the NBA in transition %. The only problem? The Bucks were first, and it's a distant first. The Warriors are an even more distant third. If you're Toronto you've won games all year out-running people, except now you have to do it against a team that's done the same thing, only better and with more legs.
  2. Any team that tries to outrun the Bucks is playing right into their hands.
  3. Gasol has been outstanding for the Raps defensively prior to last night. They aren't playing the Bucks without him. Offensively he's been really bad. But the switch defender role he is playing leaves Lopez wide open for threes.
  4. I'm Paul Piercing this one. Toronto doesn't have the depth to last a series with the Bucks. They have enough star power to beat them once or twice, but there is no way that 7-man rotation has the legs to do the 130 points thing the likely four times they'd have to do it. Giannis was manageable last night, they scored 100 and lost because Lopez dropped 29. Everything fell in place for the Raptors and they lost. Still kinda feel a split in the first two, but I just can't see that team playing at the Bucks pace for that long when they already look tired.
  5. Yet, down 4 before that one. That's kind of alarming if I'm Toronto.
  6. He is, but be bricked two big ones when the tide was really turning and had a chance to give us the lead. That was followed by a 9-0 TOR run.
  7. Giannis bricking those throws was big. Not really feeling this one. Just have looked flat.
  8. They take away easy shots and force teams to out-3 them. That means leaving some easy three attempts. Teams can't do it about 80% of the time. If you were watching them give away the paint half the game like they have in the past, that would be a lot more annoying.
  9. Bucks are getting outshot by almost 10%, by 25% from three and still are very much in this game. I just don't think this is a pace TOR can keep for 4/7. They just don't have that kind of offense. I'm not concerned with anything yet.
  10. Since you asked first, then edited...$200 is steep for an offline deal. The $200 it CAN go for on eBay doesn't include eBay and Paypal's cut...one of the perks of going offline for buyer and seller is avoiding that fee. If you can get it, good for you, but probably tough to get $200 offline.
  11. Ken Macha would have made him wait a week to pinch hit
  12. All that crap is so dumb. I wish some commissioner would just issue a 2 month suspension for the next guy who does it and finally put an end to it once and for all.
  13. I don't think Game 1 is all that important. I think the exact same thing could happen again and then Bucks rail off 4 or 4/5. I fully expect it to be 1-1 after these two anyway. When the teams are even close to evenly matched the first two are usually all about adjustments. It's get harder to hide flaws after that and that's where the real separation happens. I'll still feel confident in the series if the Bucks get smacked around tonight.
  14. There is a tendency to discredit guys in the midst of suckage. You had Braun getting DFA'd, Aguilar has to be abandoned RIGHT NOW and now Shaw is the guy. I also have a lot of issues with the "track record" argument with Shaw. He's at least been a "good" player for the duration of his time in the majors. I'm not sure he's the answer at 1B or 3B for this team but statements like it's a lock that Hiura will be better from now on than he's ever been...seem a little extreme
  15. Give the #1 pick a mandatory max contract! That'll make people think twice about tanking.
  16. He has been pretty damn good. A 100-RBI 3B who has OPS'd well over .800 for both seasons with MIL. But there's a huge amount of wiggle room between 17-18 Shaw and 19 Shaw though. He could still be a big part of this team without being that good again. For now it's a pretty good problem to have. I would rather attempt to work him through it than write him off. Talk to me in late July and I might feel differently.
  17. Shaw is too good a hitter to just be dismissed all year. I know a certain someone wanted Thames out right now and a Hiura call-up, which would have been insane with how bad Shaw has been. But with a long-term view Thames is probably the odd man out. There's regression and there is hitting .160, which just seems impossible for Shaw to pull off all year.
  18. With weather this nice parking is pretty easy to get free if you don't mind a hike. There is a good amount of free angle parking on whatever street I don't remember that's probably less than a mile away.
  19. Miller Park is such an advantage in this division as long as rivals have open air stadiums.
  20. Don't think markets really matter anymore in the NBA. The superstars do. If the league is fixing anything they probably want the international appeal of Giannis in the finals to groom the next generation of fans for a must-see superstar. Pitting him against the evil GSW empire is probably best for them.
  21. I don't think anybody thinks some team is liable to pay him what he wants, just that it's his prerogative to say "nah I'm good" if it's not what he wants. I kind of liken it to a contractor that gives a ridiculous quote for a job he really doesn't want to do. People will look at it and go "This is a rip off," well if the guy doesn't need the work, that's what an annoying job is worth to him.
  22. That overturn was fine. Fingers looked in there pretty clearly before tag. Problem is tomorrow night the same level of evidence will result in a different outcome.
  23. With Shaw batting .160 I'd have expected people to have pitchforks out by now. Those voices are definitely out there but not as loud as I'd expect.
