This is definitely the most tournament-built team the Badgers have had since playing in the Final. Doesn't mean they won't lose next round, but it does really feel like they could go far.

Hendrickson is never happening. I don't know why people are even entertaining it. You'll be lucky if the Packers first round draft pick isn't a "raw" DL with "upside" that plays 14% of the defensive snaps.

I've said it before and I will say it again. The offensive line was not holding the Packers back last year. They ran for 2,500 yards and Jordan Love threw a lot of just absolutely awful throws that cannot be explained away by pressure, there were plenty of times he had no one in his face and just threw bad passes. I think he was hurt all year, personally. Maybe their offensive line is better, maybe it had a bad moment here and there, but it wasn't impeding then from going anywhere. They didn't want to retain those guys and went in another direction, that's fine, doesn't bother me at all. But when it comes to addressing weaknesses on this roster they haven't done it. Well I guess Hardman probably means I've watched Nixon take his last kick back, which is something.

I am not sure we regressed much if at all. I just think the NFC was drastically better last year than the year before. Perhaps if you're not getting better you're getting worse, but I think we were pretty much the same with the biggest difference being that Love regressed. Our defense was better, but overall kind of a wash.

I think he's going to retire. It's not insurmountable, but the narrative that he didn't want to be in Pitt/NY, once they lose a couple games and that he really wanted Minny, would be insufferable. Minnesota was a very real chance to win a Super Bowl. The other two aren't there.

We signed 2 guys out of necessity because we let the same 2 walk. We did jack to improve our weaknesses. I will always hold out hope that there is development of rostered players so yeah, it's possible we show up better. I do not however see the talent necessary to win big along the defensive line. It's much more believable that a WR has a strong season and emerges.

I couldn't agree more. They really talked this off-season up like it was time to make moves and we got the Ted Thompson treatment. A no-name scrub WR today is the cherry on top. They are not a lick better than they were to end the season, arguably worse because Watson and a few others are gone. And I guess we are supposed to hope for the draft to put us over the hump. Incredibly disappointing. I really hope Rodgers goes to Minnesota and beats us twice.

The college crowd would be DJ Shaq, as the concert follows one of the college night promotions, Thursday is a going out night, and they will probably see it as a funny gimmicky thing that costs nothing extra to do. It makes sense. Nelly attracts a different group of people but for the same reason. I was dragged to Nelly at Summerfest free stage a few years ago because my wife wanted to see him. Is she a huge Nelly fan? No, but she thinks it's a fun show and it's what she listened to in high school. That is exactly what they're after. Non-baseball fans or irregular attendees having a reason to go. Both of these acts likely cost way less than a giveaway.

It's ridiculous. Nobody has any idea what the supposed hold-up is. Rodgers could want 2 years and they are sticking to 1. Rodgers could have a personal minimum wage which he is completely entitled to, and his agent is working it out. Or he is weighing relocating from NY (if the Giants are an option). It could be literally anything. And you've got even respectable guys like Schefter acting like he's doing something wrong by not declaring his choices on March 13.

Am Fam lots are 12k vehicles at capacity. If we are to believe surveys, roughly 40% of attendees consume alcohol when attending an MLB game so give or take on that. I would like to believe that when it comes to drivers, substantially fewer are consuming enough to leave the game legally drunk (plus there are rideshares, bar shuttles). My total guess would be under 1,000 vehicles. I think far fewer are getting inebriated than a casual observer would think just because, for one, people don't actually drink as much as we think (the US has one of the highest alcohol-abstinent populations in the world), and two, the drunks just stand out.

I know it wasn't the point of the post, but that is a massive exaggeration. Yes there are drunk people at the games, but it really isn't the majority of fans, they're just loud, and I would hope that the majority of those aren't driving. I have no doubt that a few hundred .08ers are driving home, but I don't think (hope) it's that many.

It's Wednesday, FA opened Monday, Aaron Rodgers has only just now been released, and he's "holding teams hostage." Nothing must sell better than "Rodgers is a jerk." Good grief.

It's a play to get people who otherwise wouldn't go to a game. Then hope they have fun and come back. I am also willing to bet the Brewers have seen diminishing returns on giveaway promos as the suppliers have gotten more expensive and there are still empty seats on those days. They used to be automatic sellouts or very close.

If we're going with 32 year old WRs that are clearly sliding downward, I would rather just let our young guys play. Those are valuable snaps they are missing with more Randall Cobbs in the lineup. Once we're out on Godwin, Metcalf, Adams...it's not worth any of these other guys. Their biggest problem is catching the ball, no "mentor" is going to achieve that. I am unimpressed by what the Packers have done. I am trying not to be a sourpuss about it, but it is feeling like we're running it back and hoping for different results. The draft hasn't happened yet, but I don't think this team was a rookie away from a championship. Gute's speech about it being time to compete for titles got me excited and their moves thus far have been a wet blanket for me. I am just slowly joining the ranks of fans wanting this team to take a big swing. It's been 15 years since we were in the Super Bowl. I don't think they're going to suck or anything, and it's likely they DO get better as these guys develop, I just think they really needed a veteran addition to the front 7. There is no Reggie White, no Charles Woodson, no Clay Matthews on this team IMO.

Rasheed Walker only fell to the 7th round because of doubts about his knee coming out of school otherwise he was a 2nd or 3rd round projection. He is a monster and there are reels of him last year just chucking dudes with one hand. The Packers already started moving Morgan to guard last season. I don't think you take a guy who has performed really well at RT and start getting cute with him. Maybe it's true they can't pay all of them, but I feel pretty confident that Walker is the tackle and it's Rhyan/Morgan to fight for the guard spot.

My point is that how significant can it be when Love was barely sacked and they ran for 2,500 yards? They fortified a position of strength, that at worst, struggled a bit when hit by injuries. But all they really achieved was a mild upgrade on swapping players. It doesn't address need. I don't think OL was really holding the Packers back last season on a large scale. Jayden Reed disappeared for half the season, Doubs, to be harsh, I'd rather ship off somewhere because I think he's got mental issues, and Watson who would be great if he could stay on the field. They are banking on a major leap from one or more of those guys. One is going to miss most of the season. We have a draft. I am just not really excited about our WR upgrade being the 51st pick in the draft.

I think they "overvalue" relative to the market players with specific skillsets that they think fit what they do. Just in the little Googling I've done with Hobbs he seems to play very aggressively at the line and is a strong tackler. I think they see a use for him in which he'll flourish. Hafley has been pretty good at getting a lot out of players that others have looked past. Banks is weirder to me but I trust them. Guard is generally seen as a secondary position and he doesn't really grade out exceptionally well but I don't trust those grades too much. I am guessing it had more to do with getting 5 guys playing at their strongest position on the line. Like I've said I don't have big issues with the moves. I was just hoping for one of the A listers. Oh well.

Free agency is always an "overpay" because the market resets every year. That label is pretty much a joke to me because there is no comparison with prior years. It's apples to oranges. An overpay can't exist. The market is what the market is. I don't have a problem with the players or the financials. But I would push back that no, a left guard is not a needle mover, you were already one of the best rushing teams in football. He's fine, he's good, whatever, but it's not making the Packers incrementally better from last season. I'm sure the Packers will be ok, and be a winning team. I am just pretty meh on entering the season with Houdini Reed, Wicks, head case Doubs and Watson out 3/4 of the year. If they couldn't improve there, I was hoping for defense, but it looks like we are relying on the draft to get us over the hump, which sucks when you're picking late and haven't been good at it. I'm not remotely surprised, but I was really hoping for a big splash in the veteran pool. This is paradise compared to Ted Thompson, but I think this team really needs a superstar. They must think he's already on the roster.

Are they? Because the two biggest needs are a pass rusher, a distant #1 need IMO, and probably a receiver. They needed an offensive lineman after today so I have zero issues with that or depth at CB. But those aren't needle movers. I have a feeling that Gute thinks the WR room is fine. I'm sure we'll draft somebody in the 4th round. I hope that come August I'm not left praying that Van Ness turns into something.

These guys are fine. I don't mind either one. But if I'm being honest I really felt like the Packers are missing a top tier player on both sides of the ball. I was really hoping they'd be in on one of Crosby, Garrett, Metcalf, Bosa, Baun, Hendrickson. I'm aware some of those guys re-signed and were never going to happen but that was the dream. It doesn't look like we are really getting a transcendent piece in FA like we did last year with Jacobs and McKinney. I hate going into the season expecting the draft to provide that. It just doesn't work. Moves can still be made from March 10 and forward but I see our division coming back even better.

I would assume it's Jenkins to C. There will be a competition with Rhyan/Walker and Morgan, and at least one guy is going to get hurt so hopefully they have 6 good OL. Who knows what Morgan is. Packers like their swing OL. I personally think Walker is going to be a mainstay and the competition is at guard.
