  1. Adams has statistically declined every year since his first year in Vegas, though admittedly there are a lot of factors at play there. He turns 33 next year. It isn't a guarantee to happen, but he is at the age where players fall off a cliff overnight. I wouldn't be even remotely surprised if he's productive next season, but I am just not interested in 33-year-old skill players as costly FA. LAR makes sense because they already have Puka. We'd be signing Adams to be close to the same guy he was in GB. I would rather explore a non-Packer retread path. Would Packers fans really be that into Adams if he were not an ex-Packer? Godwin has been kind of my pick all year. He's the next level down, won't cost as much, and younger. I don't think the Packers are going to add a WR outside the draft though, which is a bit disappointng.
  2. I'm personally glad Davante is off the board. Pretty much ideal for him getting to be in LA.
  3. This is exactly what I see happening. They post up for a 1st and 3rd, know it's ridiculous, the higher bidder offers a 2nd, but gets a pick(s) back in return as well. #54 and #87 still stings a bit IMO. Those are 2 potentially high-impact players in this class on rookie deals for one dude with an AAV at $30mm. I think it's more likely #54 and a pick swap in the 5th or something. I just can't see GB in particular giving up that kind of value.
  4. I think this thread has veered too hard the other way where people are really understating how good Metcalf is. Seattle hasn't been a truly good team for quite a while and the last time they were he had a great season. Even at his best, Russell Wilson has never really made WRs into stars. Geno Smith is a nice comeback story but they have been a mediocre team for some time now. The dude is 6'4, 235 and ran a 40 in 4.3 territory. He is an absolute freak of nature and he loves to block which has been a necessity under MLF. I am OK if people think it's dumb to trade a 1st for a guy you have to pay $30 million/yr immediately, and I'd agree. But I would 100% trade a 3rd and one of our mediocre WRs for him and not even blink. IMO this whole "wow the Packers have WR depth!" thing has gone overboard. We have 3 or 4 guys who don't scare anybody but are quality role players, and it has led to a misconception among some that our WRs are really good. They're not. A player like Metcalf would be huge not just because he is good, but it allows all those guys to stop carrying a burden they aren't good enough to carry. I don't think the Packers get him though. I am sure they have inquired and stated what they're willing to part with, my guess is a 3rd or 4th, and that's that. They won't get into a bidding war.
  5. They know that isn't happening. Put something insane out there and see which team comes the closest. It at least make it seem like you aren't desperate to get rid of him and won't just give him away. I bet they end up getting a 2nd if they're stubborn enough. I am sure they want this done before the draft.
  6. I will say it: I am worried about the Bears. That team has good pieces in place and their offensive line was really the biggest area of need, and they have drastically improved before even getting to the draft. They are headed in the right direction and appear to have smart people finally running the show. Williams was good behind a bad OL. This is going to be a very good division.
  7. I am hoping the Bucks turn into the teams that have knocked them off early in the playoffs previously. I think they can get out of the first round, but I am not totally sold on the Cavs and I would welcome that 2nd round matchup. I don't think there's any way they beat Boston, but I don't think Cleveland will beat Boston either. Holding out hope we are hitting another gear in the playoffs and not overly concerned about regular season games.
  8. Not a chance Metcalf garners a first going public like that. 3rd or 4th is my prediction.
  9. He made a bunch of appearances on podcasts and shows heaping praise on what a great organization GB is and how great Love looks, what a composed awesome guy he is etc., I believe he started doing that last year. And I think he kept saying something like "you never know what could happen." He has basically said "I want to go back to GB" without saying it. Don't know if it's going to happen, don't know if Gute wants him, but I think it's probably the #1 place he wants to be. It makes a lot of sense. If you were him, why not end your career in a place you know, you're comfortable, they are close to the top, and you always liked?
  10. He seemed pretty darn interested in coming back when you read between the lines on his latest comments. I am pretty meh on it. I much rather we bring in somebody younger.
  11. Exactly. And just some mediocre teams in general with "eh" QB play.
  12. That 1994 Finals with HOU and NYK was one of my all-time favorites. It really got me into the NBA. Seeing the Bulls took the Knicks to 7 games without Jordan, I'd say it's more than a maybe. Probably more likely the Rockets never win a championship if he doesn't play baseball.
  13. I'd personally be happy to get rid of one our vastly overrated WRs for Metcalf. Like I get it, people aren't wrong when they say we have good WRs. But that's just it, we have a bunch of OK WRs and the fanbase has drastically overstated their abilities. But getting Metcalf and getting to keep Reed, who I think is the best one we have, is good. The first still sounds really steep to me. He's 28, you've gotta pay him $30 million AAV for the trade to even make sense. I'd do a third in a heartbeat, and some soul-searching over a 2nd. But you could use the pick on a WR for a lot less.
  14. Ah, I am seeing SEA would be sending a pick back, which does make more sense. Looks like a 4th.
  15. If Metcalf is getting a 1st and a promising player times have really changed. There was a time players like that got traded for 4ths. Doubs is better than Wicks but I'd rather keep Wicks with the concussions and possible malcontent stuff. I can't see the Packers agreeing to a trade like that. He's under contract for only this season. I have seen "high pick" but I haven't seen that it's 23. I can't believe it is.
  16. I wanted Metcalf right out of the draft. He is an animal. It is going to be pretty funny if that happens, handing Love that kind of physical freak that Rodgers probably would have burned down his house for. I won't hold my breath though. I am sure the next report coming out is about how that report is completely made up.
  17. Their biggest flaw was not winning more titles with teams that were good enough to do it. They could have won in the bubble. If they get past Toronto, they win it. And they were up 2-0. They arguably repeat, at least win the East, if they get by Boston in Game 7 - a huge series to win without Middleton. I don't think the Bucks failures are organizational. We're simply living in what happens to every team, what is necessary to have a championship window. I have said this before, but the title they did win just happened to be closer to the end of that window than the beginning. Their failures are of on-court execution. Not poor planning, IMO. After 2022, it was going to be a longshot for them to get another one. They had a real chance to grab a few from 2018-2022. That was a 5-year window.
  18. I feel pretty confident in saying that Kuzma has made the team better. They're getting a different version of the player that was in Washington. He didn't even shoot well last night and stayed +19 because he has been such a positive defensively, which I don't think anybody saw coming.
  19. That's like $60. I wouldn't want to use a $500 voucher on that. Thus why personally I'd open this up to any teams, because frankly in a 162-game season, it's not that important to me that the Brewers are in this game. I'd be looking for a cool experience, i.e. Yankees at Fenway, Dodgers at Oracle or something - an event that might come close to $500 and I would otherwise never, ever pay for. But that's just how I'd look at it.
  20. I am making the assumption that you only want to use this over a weekend, because some weeknight game isn't going to be a great value. At a lot of these parks, you could do better on the secondary market on a random Tuesday. Given that, there are only really two choices that make sense to me after looking at the schedule. Dodgers Stadium on 7/18-7/20 or the Phillies at the end of May; I actually saw a game there last summer and thought it was a great park. I would personally lean toward the Dodgers, and I'd also want to go to a night game. Personally, I think I'd use it on a non-Brewers game to get the most value. My favorite MLB park I've been to is Oracle in SF.
  21. I never really thought this was a claim Frelick was making. It's just BSOML fodder that we get from reporters EVERY year.
  22. Literally every headline about this is that he "added 25 pounds of muscle." However the silliness of the whole thing is also evident in this: "Frelick noted that he had already lost three pounds between when he left home and reported to camp." That's one trip to the bathroom and a light breakfast. The inference that he lost 3 pounds of muscle already is this silliness at work.
  23. Yeah that's not how it works. It would actually be a lot harder for someone already in some measure of shape to do this, than it would be the average out-of-shape person to do it if they took their training seriously. If this were the case then NFL players would show up bigger and stronger every single year. When you are 210 pounds of rippling stone, adding mass becomes very very difficult to do. If you have been sitting at a desk for 10 years, transforming your body is simple - not easy - but simple with dedication.
  24. Kuzma is looking like a very good addition for swapping a guy who never played. It is looking a lot like his heart just wasn't there in Washington. He has looked like a superb on-ball defender and is making contested shots at the rim. I don't think the Bucks are a championship team but they are giving me hope for a 1st round win and at least pushing the Cavs a bit.
  25. It is likely he does get tagged but it will probably only be a short-term thing until they sign him to a larger deal.
