  1. Is talking about salad in a Pizza thread a bannable offense?
  2. Blasphemous! It's a pizza pie! When I was in college, Eduardo's was our favorite celebration place. A bit too expensive for regular visits (in college), but loved it for those special occasions. Unfortunately, they've closed. A couple of years ago, we tried Giordano's in the Twin Cities and it just wasn't the same.
  3. I typically link my smart TV as a wireless display from my PC, so everyone can see it easily. If you have a streaming stick, any WIN10 PC should be able to do the same (not that I know all streaming sticks, but I'd assume they can).
  4. For Jackbox games, you can also get a Steam account (they are free). It runs on a PC and maybe other platforms (I use a PC).
  5. I'm glad to hear that! But I'm not a fan of RR pizza...and I can't resist a good pun. I hope there was no offense. I joke with my Viking fan friends about them having lost their taste, too. .
  6. That's just because you have no taste!
  7. Ok, so I had Jets pizza last night and I found it oddly excellent and bad at the same time. The edges were excellent - no wasted crust, special flavorings for the crust. BBQ chicken pizza was really good. But I found the regular sauce to be very bland. So if you were eating the middle of the pizza, it was really missing good pizza flavor. Toppings were fine, but they really need better sauce. I ended up adding some Italian seasonings and it was much better. Certainly better than Pizza hut or the like, but with the premium price, too.
  8. A friend of mine owns several Papa Murphy's pizza stores. They are early/mid-50s and "retired" to AZ a few years ago - still worked the store's finances from AZ during the winter. Just recently, they sold their summer home on a golf course ($1M+?) and live full time in an RV now - AZ in the winter, MN in the summers.
  9. Many homes that aren't dumps in that $300-500K price range are often sold or have offers/inquiries before they every actually hit the market around here - even during dead of winter. I should've clarified where I live too... I'm about 25 miles south of the metro (Lakeville/Prior Lake). Probably in the last "suburb" heading south of the cities. When I moved in, my neighbor had goats. So the price range I mentioned was for here and south of here - which becomes farm land. I wouldn't touch anything close to downtown or the nicer suburbs (Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, etc...) for the prices I mentioned. For reference, brand new cookie-cutter 3-4 bed room houses on a 1/4 acre lot run $400-500k in Lakeville, which is why the cap on used is around $350k.
  10. The Twin Cities is nuts. I moved here 4 years ago and houses were being sold the day they were put on the market. I was able to extend up into the $400k range so there was less competition, but the $200-$350k range was fierce. Anything less than $200k and you are buying garbage. And that hasn't changed in 4 years. A friend of mine just sold their place (to move somewhere warmer like Texas...). They had their house on the market for 2 days - they had 22 showings and 6 offers.
  11. Wow, even Shazam and Aquaman made the list....
  12. Agree. Wish they would have cut out one. I didn't really like the series at all until towards the end of the third episode. I would have been ok if they had made that the first. I actually liked the first three episodes. Very campy -yes, but an interesting tip of the hat to other old TV shows (i.e. Dick Van Dyke - separate beds, Bewitched, Brady Bunch, etc..). My family was amused by them while waiting for the plot to develop. I've only finished episode 4 or 5, so its interesting tying certain events back into the newer episodes.
  13. The trade to get Hader feels a bit like this too with Carlos coming unraveled in Houston (even knowing what pitches were coming), although Mike Fiers ended up being a good player. These trades are always in the back of my mind as we talk about Hader trade deals.
  14. Yeah, this is a good point also that I've been concerned about. If our taxes look more like Germany (45% on a friend of mine that works a similar job I do), my 401k (non Roth) will be worth much less obviously. That point and because I'm actually doing pretty well, has me considering that a Roth will make more sense for me. A couple years ago, my company started offering a Roth 401k option, so I've been converting my contributions over to that bit by bit and have considered converting the whole thing over... but that is a big tax hit to take suddenly.
  15. Yeah, I'm here also. Thin crust is good when it is good, but it is also easy to be BAD (overcooked). I prefer hand-tossed or Chicago style pie. Also, the US really misses out on wood-fired stove pizza. In Europe it seems like every pizza place (or even regular restaurants that have pizza) have a wood fired stove. That also makes the plain crust taste great.
  16. If you go this way, look at Vanguard index funds. They have one to follow the S&P500 - extremely low fees and a simple online interface for managing it. I'll second what homer mentioned... if your company does a match of any sort, you are missing out on free money. That would trump ANY tax level decision. But secondly, you need to reconsider your future tax situation - and I'd recommend talking to a professional in this area. If you are in a higher tax bracket now than you will be in the future, you are better off letting it grow tax-free and pay lower taxes later (noting that the income you would pay in taxes NOW will be growing interest over the years). If your future income is low enough, you won't have ANY taxes to pay later... If you have a tax situation now where you are in a low tax bracket, but will jump later (i.e. high dependents now, none later, expect to have a huge nest egg that will outproduce your current income - putting you in a higher tax bracket), then you are better off in a Roth IRA (and pay taxes now). But the considerations are complicated - thus my recommendation to talk to a professional.
  17. Yeah, I love doing this. And doubling the mozzarella to boot. But I don't do it that often as my wife normally has them cooking when I get off work (and she hates mushrooms, so she doesn't do it).
  18. For taco pizza yes. Not other pizza. I eat plenty of spicy foods, but I like pizza the way it is. But I've heard people like Siracha on pizza too. Eating the spiciest food doesn't show manlyness...it shows a persons stupidity. Your tolerance for spicy foods is a function of how often you eat it. I have friends from India and Thailand that would kill you with what they eat.
  19. I figured it had something to do with who did it. My only real interest in seeing them is the tie to the main group. Personally, I preferred the Toby Maguire movies.
  20. We got Disney+ in December to watch the Mandalorian, but are currently burning through the 20 MCU movies (in chronological order) to get to End Game. Then I figure to pop over to Wandavision. Anyone know why the new Spiderman movies aren't considered part of the MCU End Game canon, despite him joining the fight in Civil War and some carry-over from the Spiderman movies (i.e. his and Tony Stark's relationship).
  21. I've heard of NY style and Chicago style... but what is Detroit style? Tastes like defeat? It's pan pizza, Rocky Rococo style. Odd. I've been in Detroit many times and never heard this. When I think pizza, I certainly don't think Detroit...
  22. But the recipe is unwritten... There's just a certain way pizza is supposed to be made. Anything else would be disrespectful to pizza. If my son is hungry, what am I supposed to tell him? If you make the perfect pizza pie and savor the smell too long, you shall be pelted with a tomato. And for goodness sake...ensure your apron is tied properly. Anything less is uncivilized.
  23. I bet that pizza thinks it's WAY better than the other pizzas, too. But the recipe is unwritten...
  24. I've heard of NY style and Chicago style... but what is Detroit style? Tastes like defeat?
  25. The thin crust is quite good for what it is. The pan pizza is prepped by putting about an inch of oil in a pan and baking it. It is literally a donut with sauce and cheese on top. Mmmmm... donut pizza... We tend to like Jack's Rising crust for cheap freezer pizza (it reheats well too). Kwik Trip and Papa Murphys is probably our second for take-n-bake. I used to do Pizza Hut buffet years ago and it was good - if they kept enough pizza out. Pizza Ranch is our normal now - and my wife's favorite. If I'm going high end, I tend to go for deep dish. Eduardo's in Milwaukee was our college celebration spot. Either deep dish spinach or SMOG was my all time favorite. Overall, I'm not too picky - top it with everything and a ton of cheese - the crust is just the edible fork to get it to my mouth!
