Oh, I know it is about the clicks, but even the article titles are so bad it isn't even enticing. But it goes beyond the normal writers too. I see them on FB feeds for groups that follow WI sports. People proudly post their sim draft and say, "Look at who the Packers got!!!" I think this might actually make it worse for the GMs because people think that is all it takes to get Player X. Well, I moved up and took the #1 player on the board, why couldn't Gute???

The draft sim tools that have come out in the last couple years are really cool.... but the articles on every Tom, Dick, and Harry's simluated drafts are getting ridiculous. I even saw one article that blasted Gute because he could potentially do this draft the author did.... Really??? This is what "jounalism" has come to?

Holy double posting batman! Seems like a systemic issue here! But for the article, it would've been good to note how many groundballs the Brewers also incur on defense compared to others. Seems like we have a pretty high-K rate group so there are simply fewer GBs to go around. Especially if Houser ends up in the pen this year.

My college years would've been much more fulfilling after moving to Milwaukee and actually seeing some games... if Molly had been there. Would've been great to have him on the team when Yount hit his 3000th, too.

Yeah, Ax-man doesn't make this list IMO. Also, I'm surprised there was no shout out for Trevor Hoffman. His numbers with Milwaukee don't compare, but he did achieve his 600th save as a Brewer and retired after 2 seasons with the Crew as the all-time saves leader.

I wonder how much the transfer media buzz of players flocking to WI has helped with the HS recruits. Certainly has to perk up a kids ears to see all sorts of 3 and 4 star recruits suddenly transferring in...

Burnitz was #1 in helicoptering bats into the stands and was certainly a nice find on a bad team, but Yellich's peak as MVP give him the edge, IMO. I forgot how good Hart actually was....

Frankly, I'd expect it to work just like that... I mean, the advertising agencies aren't dummies. They know what works. Not a drug example... but back when I bought my first computer (a sweet 25MHz x486 with 250MB HD and 2MB RAM), my dad wanted to give me whatever advice he could in making this $1000 purchase. My dad is very blue collar and loathed technology. So mustering all his knowledge of electronics, he asked me, "Did you get Intel inside?" When someone is struggling with something and it is in an area they aren't comfortable with (i.e. medicines), yes they will default to TV ads.

I'm rarely recent on my movie watching so bear with me... Saw "Knives Out" and really enjoyed it. Daniel Craig's Kentucky drawl was bad (especially early in the film), but the plot and the twists were excellent. I figured out the how, but not the who of the movie. I had both of Kenneth Branagh's Hercule Poirot movies figured out before the end (Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile - still good movies), but this one had me guessing to the end. On the opposite side, I saw Wonder Woman 1984.... ugh. How bad can a super hero movie be??? I can't think of a single redeeming aspect of this film. It just kept getting worse and worse. Pedro, this is not the way!

Digging into his past a bit for a few nuggets: His career minor league numbers are 261/339/416/755. Making it seem that his 800+ OPS years (at age 26 and 27) were his upper end. His career MLB numbers are just about the same: 256/341/410/750. Despite the decline in his bat, his bWAR was still positive the last 5 years (3.0, 3.3, 1.8, 1.3, 0.3). His defensive bWAR is normally slightly above average (0.4-0.8) until last year when it was minimally below (-0.4) 2021 - Left Shoulder subluxation- went on IR twice for this, including the 60 day to end the season. 2022 - Hit IR 3 times, including a left Shoulder strain. So if healthy, I'd guess he'd give us a 750 OPS with decent defense and 1.5-2.0 WAR. That would be a slight offensive improvement on Urias with about the same D.

Yes, more likely the later and of course extentions can still come.... but not signing is a leverage tactic if the Brewers and his agent are currently in discussions.

Might Corbin's lack of contract indicate they are trying to sign a longer term deal and buy out a FA year or two? Or does it mean Corbin is playing hardball on arby numbers...indicating we don't have a prayer for his FA years. Just a guess but I think Rowdy will end the year at 2-3WAR.

Clark played quite a bit of DE with Slaton in on early downs and then moved in for pass rush downs. Given TJ's improvements, I wouldn't be surprised if that continues. I'm not banking on Ford or Slayton for much except maybe one of them stepping up enough to be a backup. If you go into TC with Ford, Slayton, a vet minimum, a mid-round draft pick, and a couple UDFAs, you will likely find two decent backups to the starting 3.

QB - Rodgers, Love, Etling - I'm guessing only one of Rodgers/Love will survive this offseason. I could see a mid-round selection happening in that case. RB - Jones, Dillon, Goodson, Taylor. Jones is the playmaker. Dillon is a starting caliber RB, but not overly dangerous. Group is solid as a whole. There is a short term risk that Jones is cut for salary cap reasons and longer term risk in his health. If cut, a higher playmaker pick could be necessary. If not, a lower level development RB would be good. WR - Doubs, Watson, Toure, *Others. Cobb and Lazard are FAs. I can see Lazard coming back as he is more valuable to us than to other teams. I'm guessing Cobb is gone. There is good upside in what we have but also risk. We also have zero depth (*not even worth mentioning the various players we churned through on the PS). Using our 1st round pick wouldn't be surprising based on need...except we normally don't. TE - Deguara, *Others. Tonyan, Lewis, and Davis are all FAs. I think Tonyan is going to be a hot commodity as an upside TE (got better the further into his recovery). If Rodgers is here, I see Mercedes coming back otherwise retired. Davis could probably return, but is that good? Pretty bad situation as high draft capitol often doesn't produce year 1. But still need to invest here. OL - Bakh, Jenkins, Myers, Runyan, Tom, Newman, Jones, Tenuta, Walker, Rhyan, Nijman* - Pretty solid starting 5. Myers plateaued, but still ok. Runyan showed some limitations and could be a target for upgrade. Might need more G depth, but honestly we are pretty solid at T depth. Assuming Bakh stays, I'd be ok standing pat here (but 4th round T/Gs are so good to us...). Nijman is an RFA, but after losing his spot to Tom, will we offer? DL - Clark, TJ Slaton, Wyatt, Chris Slayton, Ford - Decent starting 3. Development depth. Could use a vet backup in case our development players flat-line. Or maybe a mid-round DL. OLB - Gary*, Smith, Enagbare, Garvin - Gary will be out for a while and possibly not overly impactful on early returns. Smith and Enagbare brought pressure, but few sacks in his absence. Hollins was decent as a backup and could return. Using our top pick (#15 ) wouldn't shock me here. ILB - Campbell, Walker, McDuffie. - Actually the best ILB depth we have had in a long time. Barnes was almost a luxury (and as a FA will most likely leave). Grab another mid-late pick with a UDFA or two and we are probably set here. CB - Alexander, Douglas, Stokes, SJC - I wouldn't be opposed to moving Douglas to safety, but he was much better at outside CB than in the slot. Will be interesting to see what they do next year with the first 3. Hopefully Nixon returns. Was surprisingly good as a slot CB and returner. Seems to be more vision on returns than pure speed. If Douglas goes to safety, I see a higher pick at CB necessary. S - Savage, Carpenter, Gaines. In the first half of the season, the thought of these three being our only safeties was terrifying. Gaines proved to have some value in play and Savage did make improvements in the second half. But still this is a glaring hole. Bringing back Ford shouldn't be too hard. But a high draft pick here is probable unless Douglas moves over. ST - Coco, O'Donnell - Will this be the year Crosby hangs it up? I think we could bring him back cheaply. Accuracy is still good, distance is ok, but waning. Coco was a forgotten man, which is ideal for the LS. O'Donnell had a good year. I could see a 6th/7th round draft pick at K if Crosby retires. 1st-3rd round pick priorities: OLB, WR, TE, S/CB 4th-7th round pick priorities: DL, RB, QB, CB/S, K

With Clark, Wyatt, and TJ Slaton, I'd say our starting DL is pretty solid. We also have Ford and Chris Slayton as development players. A vet FA like Reed or a lower (4th/5th) round draft pick with an UDFA or two is probably all we need.
