    Terrible comp... I did say Turang had more range. And I'm pretty sure he could play SS and 3B in addition to the current 2B. Yeah, I wanted to give credit... just couldn't remember. 😅

    I would hope Orlando Arcia is his absolute floor as a player. Turang should have more of a bat than Orlando. Hernan Perez is a poor comp... I don't see any similarities there. Mark Loretta (someone else brought that up somewhere else) is a pretty close comp, IMO. Turang has a chance to be slightly better on offense (power) and defense(range/arm), but a decent comp.

    I do find it odd that you want to trash Counsell for a decision to sit Turang when: His replacement went 1 for 2. Turang still played in the game Turang is not Bryce Harper The Brewers are 5-1 and have regularly been a winning team under CC. Yes, I get it... Turang is hot and we all love him suddenly. He is still a rookie and let's not immediately burn him out. We could also wait and see how often T sits against lefties before we call it a platoon. This also isn't a first. Braun sat more than people wanted him to when he first came up. Burnes and Big Woo started in the pen instead of at SP. AAA to MLB is the biggest step for any ball player. Letting him ease into it is a wise move and CC has shown himself to be a pretty smart manager.

    The Jets get their Packer QB!!!! Oh wait, it is former Packer clipboard holder Tim Boyle. The Jets do know we didn't win the Superbowl in 2020, right??? Seems like they are trying to replicate that team...only 3 years older.

    6 games doesn't change my opinion, but I love the optimism of the 124+ win crowd. Nothing like breaking the MLB single season win record by 8+ games. We will have to check in you during our first slump to make sure you don't ride the lows as much as you ride the highs. 🙂

    I'm really concerned about the downward trend in our offense... Well, I was in staff meeting today with my camera on and taking peeks of the game when Mitchell walked it off... hard to not react and give it away. 😂

    Yeah it was a weak 4 runs (and avoided the term "earned"), but the point was that Burnes pitching doesn't guarantee the W. Hopefully he reads that and pitches mad tomorrow. 😉

    Uke has clearly slipped the last 8-10 years. But I hope to be as coherant and funny as he is in my 80s. He is still a better color commentater than Rock. Yes, if you want someone to give you every detail of the game you'll need to find it elsewhere. Until he retires, I'll be happy to live with assuming the guy caught the pop up (trust me...you'll know if he didn't) and laughing at the antics and stories.

    I'm sure they had it in varying degrees. I'm sure there were a lot of different variants to see how to best collect the data (type of cameras, angles, sensors, etc..) before they standardized it at all ballparks so they can compare the data.

    Yes, I was assuming the same. Hoping someone can confirm. As a SW engineer, I'm amazed at the data collection and AI it would take to calculate such a metric (and many of the new metrics coming out). When will they apply these techniques to traffic patterns and fix something "real"? 😅

    How is xChase% (expected chase percentage) calculated? Do they rate each pitch a player sees based on results of all players on similar pitches??

    Ok, that is a fair point... but having a ready to play backup does make it more likely he is traded when we could use the money to (potentially) sign someone else that doesn't have a backup (Woo/Burnes). Even though signing any of the 3 is probably low. It isn't TB where Adames was traded to make room for another player, but Turang being ready to step in at SS lessens the sting of trading Adames (at least on the field, not as a leader).
