  1. Even with a small amount of savings, Turner's position should be pretty easy to replace. Our depth on the OL is probably the best of any position we have. Nijman is probably as good as Turner at LT/RT. They could probably get Kelly back in the interm until Jenkins returns. Might not cost a lot, but we can use that $3m savings too.
  2. I think they answered that last year when Fry never sniffed the MLB level. And barely even caught at the AAA level
  3. I wonder what the second year option is worth. A great signing of he is anything close to last year.
  4. For my first post in the new website, I thought I'd post something deep and profound. Great googly moogly, look at all those emoticons! Here's to my last time typing, ":laughing"! ???
  5. Does the pitch clock have a maximum AND minimum? Just wondering if Suter should be worried. If they do a shift ban, I wonder how many people will be doing the metrics to figure out which batters are most impacted by the shift D to find the latest market inefficiency...
  6. Here I dropped the "subtle" hint to my wife that she get a job now that all the kids were in school - mainly so she would qualify for SS benefits when we retire. That hint didn't go so well. . But then COVID hit and the kids were all home or dealing with symptoms/testing/quarantines, etc.. and it was Godsend to have her home during that time.
  7. If you have enough people (who previously had average/below average athletic expectations) putting up amazing numbers at a Pro Day, does that dilute the numbers for the others?
  8. I saw this come out and was stunned they were rebooting the series already. I've watched them all since Michael Kean days and thought they peaked with The Dark Knight trilogy (good action, excellent supporting casts, nice plot twists, cool toys). I'm not sure I'm ready for another series... Of course, this seems like the only hero DC comics does well.
  9. I read yesterday that our oil consumption from Russia was about 7% last Nov and effectively 0% in Feb, before the Ukraine invasion and subsequent Russia oil ban. So it seems like the price jump was purely reactionary as it would have little impact on current oil sources (perhaps risk analysis, but little active supplier impact). So price gouging...
  10. With all the QB trades, the Vikings sports announcers are sitting there drooling over the potential of trading Cousins. But I'm thinking they are going to be disappointed and he stays. Granted, I can't imagine a scenario where they'd find a better QB for next year anyway... I wouldn't mind seeing a trade to the Colts; I've actually like Cousins and would like to root for him.
  11. The Nets will be interesting... how much time will their big 3 have to learn to play together? Are their big 3 actually complementary? Will they all be healthy?
  12. You mean there might be a reason to go back to the MJS website again? I haven't been there in years...
  13. My wife and I had made the life-choice before we were married that she would be a stay-at-home mom. Our entire budget was planned off of one salary so we could do that. That obviously limits us in many areas of life (house, were we live, vacations, cars), but it has been better overall for my family. And a friend of mine is a stay-at-home dad, which works for them (so no one claims me to be a 1960's era chauvinist). With all the issues of daycare during COVID, I've wondered if we might see people going back to that lifestyle.
  14. https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/family/should-i-include-a-dependents-income-on-my-tax-return/L60Hf4Rsg Dependents who have unearned income, such as interest, dividends or capital gains, will generally have to file their own tax return if that income is more than $1,100 for 2021 (income levels are higher for dependents 65 or older or blind). A parent can elect to claim the child's unearned income on the parent's return if certain criteria are met. Generally, the unearned income over the annual threshold ($2,200 in 2021) is taxed at the parent tax rate.
  15. Something that just occurred to me on Love's contract. As a 1st round pick, he would have 3 years left on his contract. Since most of the QBs don't sound like they will go in the 1st round this year, they would all be on 4 year contracts. So basically, there is a difference of only 1 year of control.
  16. Can you quote anyone who said tagging Adams was impossible? Being difficult and having to have A, B, C happen for it to be possible isn't the same as being impossible. Let's not rehash it, please. It was bad enough discussion back then, no need to rehash it all for an "I told you so" discussion.
  17. I predict Love will or will not be traded with a potential return somewhere between 3 first round picks and a 2030 UDFA. Take that one to the bank. I still think that it doesn't make sense to trade Love. Needing a good backup for a 38 yo QB and the potential long term QB need outweighs the potential return (unless it really is 3 first round picks...or 2...or 1). Plus, I'd put money down that Love's pick provided a bit of motivation for Rodgers and part of his resurgence. Hard to prove, but...
  18. Ok, so for some levity... At work, we have a social IM (we all work from home) for bad dad jokes. Someone asked this one earlier: What isn't a koala a real bear? My answer: Aaron Rodgers doesn't own a koala! The couple of bears fans at work weren't amused. He isn't koalafied was their answer. I still like mine better.
  19. [sarcasm]But what if they are constipated then what?[/sarcasm] I'm willing to administer the enema...
  20. At this point, I'm just ready for a decision. Trade or re-sign. tired of the drama...
  21. We need some resolution on this whole AROD thing, plus signing the new CBA... could you please take some more time off?
  22. Websites do cost money. Not sure how long the hosting and name rights will last, but I'd imagine at some point Brian would stop paying for it also.
  23. [sarcasm]Come on Brock... watch the language or we'll have to give you a day off...[/sarcasm]
