  1. Do you think he'd rather be an NCAA HC or NFL DC?
  2. Frankly, this is the perfect place for him. No pressure, 3pt-&-drive offensive focus, play behind GA and KM... if he can't make it here, he probably won't make it.
  3. Jimmy will be interesting. $3.7M for his potential as a SP is interesting. But given some of the goings-on to keep him at AAA, the team might move on. But it will be interesting to see what the team does here as the behind the scenes info (health, attitudes, etc) will be critical. The money isn't that much for SP depth.
  4. I'm still not a Detroit believer. I didn't really see them do anything special to turnaround their season from last year. Stafford can be as good as Rodgers ever was but often doesn't sustain it for a whole game or multiple games. I'm not crazy about the coaching scheme either. I'm just waiting for them to fall back to the middle or bottom. I just don't think it's sustainable for a full season. Change my mind.
  5. It was the roughing the passer call where Aaron threw the ball and the Cowboy came in after 1-2 steps and clothesline him across the chest (not the hand to Dak's helment call). Stating "I hate to say it" is how a team's fan responds to a call (like how I would respond to King thumping Gallup before intercepting the ball; I hate to say it, but that was pass interference on King). I'm left scratching my head thinking..."Why do you hate to say it? Because you want the Cowboys to win of course." Buck just says weird and dumb things at times. I thought they did better earlier in the season (Vikings?) when they called a Packer game. But this one had a bunch of fan-boy comments from Aikman. That one was just the worst one.
  6. Taunting is the only thing I hate to see (though I did laugh when Jones did it). If you hit a home run, score a touchdown or pick off a pass, you should have some right to celebrate it*. If you don't like it, don't let them make a big play. *The Nick Barnett Samari celebration after tackling a runner 12 yards downfield should be banned.
  7. Aikman should be barred from calling Dallas games. Just when I think he is tolerable, he calls a came like that. My "favorite" line was (after a roughing the passer call on Dallas), "I hate to say it, but that was roughing the passer". Why exactly does a color commentator hate to agree with a blatant call?
  8. Auburn beat Kent state 55-14 earlier this year, so 48-0 is on par with them (and they were ranked at #8 then too).
  9. I have a feeling some of those Vikings fans are also Twins fans. [sarcasm]Not to mention all of the Gopher national championships in football... [/sarcasm] I live in MN and the fans here are certainly doom and gloom. It's not about the WS titles the Twins have won, it's the constant losses to the NYY. Oddly, they are more proud of the Vikings than they should be (to the point of one fan being completely clueless as to why I'd want to be a Packer fan over the Vikings...).
  10. There is something to be said about playing the game under pressure too. Crowds, real competition, game situations... it is all easier in practice than when the lights go on.
  11. Woodruff of course Davies - consistently decent. Houser - earned it Lyles - earned it (assuming he will resign at a decent $$) Gonzo - why not?? Sign him for depth and use him in the BP. He seems to like it here too. Anderson - like Gonzo, depth/BP Burnes - world-beater pre-2019; 2019: excellent-AAA/Dumpster fire-MLB. A lot of people will be digging into what happened, but he will be in consideration for 2020. Nelson - one more chance. One very good starter, 3 decent options, two BP/depth options and two boom/busts picks. That isn't horrible depth. If Burnes/Nelson bounce back to former glory, Woodruff, Nelson, Burnes, Lyles, and Houser is a really nice rotation. But I wouldn't bank on that happening either. Certainly an option to pick up one or two others for upgrades.
  12. Domingo batted 280/357/400/757 on Sundays in 2019, but 279/395/529/924 on Fridays. His mother should've named him Viernes instead.
  13. So is this the first good defensive team we played? Whole 4th quarter and we had 6 very unimpressive offensive plays (not counting the knee downs).
  14. I turned on the game in the early 4th. I've only seen 3 offensive plays by W. Wierd game.
  15. Not to mention they won't have to put Davis on IR in 2 weeks and find a PR/KR replacement anyway. I'm surprised he stayed healthy this long this year.
  16. And Savage limping after the game... Time to trade for Fitzpatrick. Yes, I know he isn't a safety, but that will allow more flexibility with Williams. or claim cornerback and kick returner Tremon Smith off waivers from the Chiefs...

  18. But a big part of the deception is who is rushing and who isn't, right? So the pressure is more on the OL (with some QB audibles) to cover the pass rush. For the Viking OL, that could be interesting. Don't give Cousins time in the pocket and he is a bad QB (as are all QBs).
  19. Two points: 1) This is the Green Bay Packer thread. Brown doesn't play for us... there is an NFL thread for that. 2) Please take it down a notch on the discussion. This isn't a forum to vet out his legal defense or prosecution cases.
  20. I remember when Sterling Sharpe was considered a diva because he wouldn't talk to the press... Ha. He wouldn't even make page 3 anymore compared to some out there.
  21. Hoping the RB screen is queued up this week (I actually hate the WR screen). Need some quick pass misdirection plays. And Rodgers needs to hike the ball with 5-10 seconds left so the DL isn't jumping at the zero point of the clock all the time. Frankly, I'd love to see one or two plays where Rodgers mosies up the the LOS and hikes the ball on the first sound with 20 seconds left on the play clock. Just go quick and stun them.
  22. So, who does he sue when someone smashes the watch on a helmet? Or does he just alligator arm any ball when defenders are near enough that he can't run out of bounds?
  23. [sarcasm]Maybe just keep the Brown stuff completely off the site?[/sarcasm] Man I hate drama queens.
  24. I was surprised to find out how little offense the Vikings actually had for a 28 point win. 98 yards passing and 172 yards rushing (ok, that is a lot of rushing yards, but still under 300yds total for 28 points). Matt Ryan had 304 yards passing. So obviously turnovers were the key to the game. Also interesting was the Packers Wire recap of that game that showed the stretch running play. Often the TE was motioned to the left and the team ran right (where there was no WR) on a zone block scheme. Thus, it reduced the defenders on the right side. Given some of our TE's lack of blocking prowess, that might be a decent idea to "steal".
