Not even close. There are 130 games left. The season is never on the line in the first week of May. I know we're not in a position to be giving up wins, but let's not overreact here. -
I know it'll hurt later, but I firmly believe you have to give the pitcher a chance to finish one.

I don't think many really hate Gomez. It is Gomez hitting second that people hate. I can live with a crappy hitting center fielder who plays good defense hitting 8th. A crappy hitting centerfielder batting 2nd, not so much.

I really have a hard time believing Braun would be willing to move from the outfield. In fact I'd bet that was made clear before he signed his contract. In LF he's pretty much a guaranteed All Star starter and Silver Slugger favorite. At first base he wouldn't have much of a chance against Pujols (and he'd also have to compete with Votto, Fielder(?), and Howard). I do think Braun is most interested in winning, but I think the personal recognition is also quite important to him.

This is awesome. To watch a Hall of Famer from the draft to the end of his career as a Brewer, I love it. And watching the Phillies series I was thinking about how well Braun is playing and wondering when he'd start asking for more money than we extended him for. Nice to know that's settled.

Seeing as the team is in Milwaukee, plays at Miller park, and is called the freakin Brewers I think beer in the clubhouse is only natural. And I think that the Adenhart backlash is really stupid. It's not like he was drinking in the clubhouse and crashed his car, a drunk driver hit him. It's very unfortunate what happened, but there's no correlation between alcohol in the clubhouse and his accident.

I think that we all fear that if he pitches well someone else is going to sign him away from us. If we can sign him to an extension, I like this trade a lot.

I'm not sure what to make of trading for a guy with only 2 years left. Do they think we're going to be able to make a run? That's a small window for how many pieces we're lacking. Especially with Fielder about to hit free agency, that gives us this year to try and do something. Don't really like trading a high level prospect for two years of a pitcher that's not going to take us anywhere.

I think a reason Braun would have for not wanting to move to first base is All Star voting and post season awards. He's started the All Star Game the past three seasons, and he's pretty much a lock every year as long as he's decent. Now think about if he's at first base; he's certainly not going to be beating out Pujols. When looking back on players' careers the number of all star selections is always brought up, and Braun definitely seems like a guy who would care about that. -

Wait, does this not go against NCAA regulations in some way? He was given stuff from a pro team (tickets to that game he was like 5th row and such), isn't that a violation of NCAA policy? That's how it is with football and basketball, why is baseball any different? I know this happens often, but I don't understand how that flies.
