Just got back from the game... I liked de la Rosa. Much less painful to watch than Hendrickson. Threw one slow curve that clocked at 70mph (not sure if that was accurate or not). Not afraid to throw his changeup. Wasn't too fond of the lineup. It was funny, when Willis came to bat the first time his BA was .235 and the guy next to me said "If we had a pitcher hitting over .235, we'd use him as a pinch hitter." A little later, here came Wes to pinch hit.

Will Sheets win more than 11 this season?

I was at the game last night. There wasn't much to cheer about.. but plenty to wonder about... for example: Next time Po decides to bunt for a hit, will he do it against Jim Kaat?

The way the Brewers are going, the next run for Houston was going to make it "too out of hand". I don't agree that Ned HAD to make the move there but I understood why he did it. It seems to be contrary to his earlier stated philosophy of letting these guys work through situations instead of avoiding situations, however.

"at least we're not the Cubs"?? At least the Cubs fans saw a laugher the right way today.

The only thing to be happy about (for me) is that Counsell stayed on the bench, giving me Bill Hall in the Pick a Brewer contest for today.

    What CAN Bennett do?

    ALWAYS with the double plays.

I don't think Prior's arm has been "abused" this season, they've kept him on a pretty strict pitch count and were VERY cautious about bringing him back after the injury. He hadn't even thrown 100 pitches in a game this year. Meanwhile, I read somewhere that Zambrano asked to throw 150 pitches in a game.. I'm not sure of the context.

Bill Hall batting, two strikes. There are only two possible outcomes: 1) Pitch is a strike, Hall looks at it for strike three. 2) Pitch is outside the zone, Hall swings and misses for strike three.

I love how an "8" followed by a close paren ")" gets emoticonized...

Another possibile reason for Wise's start... they may be showcasing him for a trade. According to a guy in one of my fantasy leagues, he heard the following rumor on a Boston radio station: Brewers get BK Kim, Anastacio Martinez, and Luis Terrero....D'Backs get Matt Wise, Chris Coste, and Scott Williamson...Red Sox get Randy Johnson....

Well at least it lasted shorter (I think) than that inning during the home opener...
