    NL catchers are starting to be smart by not completely blocking the plate when Prince is coming home. It allows them to make a glancing tag while still retaining their lives.

    Did Braun and Bailey ever play together? FSN's shot before the commercial showed Braun appear to joke around with Bailey as they left the field.

    Besides Phillips, everything else is on the ground so far which bodes well for Suppan. Granted, it means nothing if the Crew gives him no offense.

    I just read Buster Olney's blog on ESPN and it looks as if Prince did have a private conversation with Manny after yesterdays game, so that's good. Olney also points out the clubhouse atmosphere was lighthearted as they laughed at the USA Today picture of Bush being crushed during the brawl.

    I wonder if Hardy's shoulder is still bothering him and Yost is trying to keep him fresh. If not, there's no reason to sit Hardy as he had two hits last night and Counsell had none. Plus, JJ is better defensively. As for Kendall, the only explanation is that he is holding one of Ned's children hostage and Rivera is chained to the clubhouse water heater. ^^^^You beat me to it SoCal.

    I am worried about the same thing. Manny is young and nearly in rookie status so something like this could really fracture his confidence. Look at how he handled being hit hard in the game after throwing a no-hitter. He went from complete control to zero in about one batter. What I hope happens, or has already happened, is that Prince and Ned talk with Manny and assure him that things are over and done with and there should be no hard feelings. This is something that could stick in his head and linger for a while if the team is not careful with him. His next start will be the test.

    Given the previous days action and the two brush back fastballs, that home run was the best of the year, imo. The reaction was a perfect slap in the face to the pitcher and on the very next pitch nonetheless. Prince could have taken the bullpen car around the bases and it still would have been appropriate.

    I was only able to catch a few innings on Gameday tonight, but I'm glad I did. Looks like they finally started to manufacture some runs and Prince took his aggression out on the other team instead of his starting pitcher. Also nice to see Bush pitching well on the road. Remember this game, Crew, and replicate it over and over and over................

    For what it's worth, Counsell is 5 for 12 in his last 3 games with 3 strikeouts. As a comparison, Branyan is 3 for 12 with 3 strikeouts and Hall is 2 for 12 with 4 strikeouts. Maybe Yost is going with the luke warm hand considering how cold the offense has been lately. As for hitting sixth, I don't think it makes any difference unless Cameron starts to hit more. As for Kendall, I cannot believe he is in there today.

    I guess it all boils down to preparation of a team before a big series or game and how they cope with the pressure of these game. As we saw in the Cubs series this year and the Cardinals series last year, the entire team seemed to choke under the pressure and did not seem to be prepared for their opponents. Is that Yost's fault? Maybe it is or maybe he only has a little to do with it. I threw this post out there as games on the national networks (even though some games are only shown regionally) are generally against better teams at important times during the season. I'm positive the team knows when the important series and games are, and some of these are likely televised by a national network, which may also add some pressure to perform well. Seeing the stats on these games, although a small sample size, can give some more insight on a manager's potential impact on managing pressure games, or at least the response a team has to pressure games. So far the numbers given are better than I expected as it felt as though the Brewers lost many more of these games than they won. It would be interesting to compare the big game tv numbers of the so called greats like LaRussa, Sparkey Anderson, Lasorda, etc., to the average of all managers to see if it even makes a difference.

    I would still love to find a way to get Roberts this offseason for Weeks +. After that, the perfect move imo would be moving JJ to 3rd, having Escobar at SS and keep Hall as a utility player to spell Hardy and Escobar when needed. I don't think Hall will have much value this offseason, and dumping him would be a mistake as I do feel his offense will be better than what it is this season.

    ^^^^^^ Even if Manny was being a baby and tried to leave the dugout, Prince was the true child as he threw a major temper tantrum in front of everyone. It would have been fine if he got in Manny's face and yelled a bit, but his reaction was a major overreaction. I still think this can help the team in the long run as long as they don't dwell on it and pick sides. Everyone needs to make up and start taking their aggressions out on the other team.

    I would actually be ok with that as it would mean the Brewers were winning (assuming they respond positively).
