Lets not forget that salary probably had a major role in this decision as well. -
Agreed. Gomez still has value. Its not like Hardy is doing anything anyway. The bats are still strong, and Escobar was supppse to be a good defender from his minor league defensive stats.

Villy historically does this. Has a great 4-6 week span and then just loses it. The problem is when he blows up, it usually means a close game or lead that is lost.

Of the expendable guys, I think Bush is the best to trade. He is a FA after the year and pitching better. He is the type of guy a team in a pennant chase might want to add that would only cost a lower level prospect. Parra and Narveson have upside that the Brewers would want going forward. Bush is what he is at this point.

FWIW I thought the slide was a little late and I am a big Casey fan and believe he is the not even close to being a dirty player. I do believe he was a little miffed about being hit though.

Angels seem to position their defense like the Twins. It seems like a lot of balls are hit to players in positions I wouldn't expect.
