I am no expert and just a fan, but I will say that John Dewan's number always seem off to my eye. Granted I don't get to watch every team or have any insight as to plays that "should be made", but to my eye UZR has correlated more to what I believe to be true. -
My guess is Macha had CV slotted for the "8th inning"guy with Hawkins out.

Maybe a few starts and if he fails Cappy? We would have to see how Cappy does in AAA of course.

I have to admit this had me laughing pretty well.It may be funny... but shouldn't we be giving him some credit? We are so quick to bash Macha (and Melvin) when things go bad, but when it turns around, they get ignored. I'm not saying I'm a Macha lover, but we should at least be fair in how we treat him. I thought rluz's post was suppose be in blue. I was confused for a second. To be honest I don't know how much Macha should be to blame in the first place, other than Hawkins in the 8th inning cubs debacle. Most of the bashing tends to be from an emotional/frustrated response. I noticed in my time that when a team goes bad it is the manger/general manager/coaches fault, when a team does well it is the player's doing. I would like to know if anyone is aware of way to statistical measure of how many games a manager can win or lose versus a norm or an expected?

All I can say is that in no way should Paschke every be associated with the Brewers again. He was absolutely horrible. The day he "chose" the Bucks over the Brewers was, for me, equal to the last game of 2008. Ok a little exaggeration! But since i don't watch the NBA that was a great move for me. -

Lets not forget that they were 24-10 in 2007 and ended up with only 83 wins. The Astros, I believe, were 15-30 and won a wild card. 5 games under in April does not end the season.
