  1. Hilarious the ump just gave Morris that call but didn't give the same call to Wily in the top half of the inning.
  2. 1-2-3 Inning. Let's put this one away boys. I will be at Miller Park this weekend and I can't wait.
  3. Judge not lest ye be judged. It is what it is. Forgive and forget. At the end of the day none of us know Braun on a personal level. He plays for our favorite baseball team and is providing entertainment. Baseball is not, ever was, nor shall ever be a "pure" game.
  4. I completely agree. An odd strike zone to say the least. Garza doesn't seem comfortable at all, and the strike zone not being consistent isn't helping matters.
  5. Even the play Segura made - that was challenged and won - didn't have to be that close. Just very frustrating. Positively no reason this should be 3-2 right now. None.
  6. I agree with you and so does Peter Gammons in his article today. That's a nice read and good to see Lucroy getting some national pub.
  7. He's being squeezed. I'm not being a homer either, I have no idea what the ump is looking at.
  8. I know this is Captain Obvious, but this has been a really frustrating game to watch as a Brew fan.
  9. Wish I had said it this way. ^ BRAVO! It is a truly bizarre statement to make. Can't tell if you're being sarcastic in response to what I said. I love Braun. I love him entertaining me the same way I love Jim Carrey entertaining me, or the same way I enjoyed Heath Ledger or Layne Staley. Not quite sure what part of that is in any way a 'bizarre' statement. I can only infer that perhaps someone of your magnanimity and perfection would find it difficult identifying with those who are possibly not as pure and good.
  10. Important to keep in mind that Pleskoff very accurately predicted, prior to this season in a similar feature, that Jean Segura had a very real shot at being a star. It's very reassuring to see that Pleskoff sees Delmonico as a third baseman. Was thinking that too. Pleskoff writes about Delmonico so assuredly, and given Pleskoff's past pieces I tend to read them a little more weight.
  11. I agree with Bruce. If you don't idolize and worship pro athletes as super heroes this really doesn't come as a shock or provide some great outrage as a crime against humanity. I actually almost feel empathy for those that exhibit such delusion. These guys are just providing entertainment. Pro sports is just entertainment with little to no meaningful consequence to any of your real lives. Regardless of wins and losses ALL OF YOU still have to get up the next morning and go to work. I still love Ryan Braun. Sure I'm going to miss him the rest of the year. But get the time served and move on. He made a mistake, he screwed up. Nobody's perfect. We all fall short of the glory.
  12. It is hard to say. In the middle of 2010, were any of us thinking that we would win 96 games the next year? It really depends on the new players we bring in, but we certainly don't have the talent to go get some good arms. I think it is a per game basis when they pack it in. I see the players pack it in after they see the starting pitcher give up 9 runs in the first 3 innings. The players spend the rest of the game going through the motions to wait until tomorrow. I don't blame them. They don't have the option that I have taken and leaving after 7 innings. Agreed on both points.
  13. I was parroting what was in print, not providing as my own opinion. My opinion part of that sentence was that apathy is a clubhouse killer. That said, neither you or me are in the clubhouse every day.
  14. Completely agree with this. I've been a Melvin homer and apologist for years, but I'm over kidding myself. As for whether or not the team can compete next year...hard to say. It's troubling to read scouts say things like 'the Brewers have already packed it in' as has been posted here and other places several times this year. In baseball (and all sports for that matter) the worst thing that can happen is a culture of apathy setting in clubhouse or lockerroom.
  15. And one other thing I found interesting was that Attanasio's quotes regarding the finances seemed to contradict the prevailing previous tone. The takeaway (for me, anyway) was that things are in good shape, financially. Obviously not major market robust, but also not Houston Astros either.
  16. Knowing everything we know about Melvin's philosophy of 'uncommon patience and resolve' coupled with Attanasio's fundamental belief of building a core of players for fans to grow and identify with, I'd say there's a less than zero chance Gomez is traded any time soon...especially with the level of success he's having this season.
  17. It's frustrating not capitalizing on having Weeks @ 3rd and 1 out. Against a pitcher like Kershaw you have to take it when you can get it.
  18. My annoyed, irrational fan post: Khris Davis ANNOYS the sh*t out of me. Ok, I feel better I got that out of my system.
