  1. I'm not a negative poster whose name only appears when we play bad. In typical fashion the Brewers played extraordinary baseball while I was away from all forms of electronic media. Awesome game it sounds like. We had a heck of a practice today for Brewerfan.net softbal but no radio to listen in this time. Leave it to the Brewers to choose that time to play a near flawless game.
  2. Thank you, I count as 1 of the 29,000+. The last game I attended was the 7-0 shutout to Arizona, the game that gave us our first loss of the season. Now tonight I attend the game where we score 1 stinkin' run and fall below .500 for the first time all season. I'm thinking I shoould stay far, far away from Miller Park. Not only do they lose whenever I go, it's almost always very boring and very ugly.
  3. Good thing Ohka made a contribution with his bat otherwise we're down 5-4 right now.
  4. Yikes...now two on for Dunn...cmon Ohka.
  5. All this offense and just think, Lee is 0-2 with 4 LOB. Nice to see others pick up the slack.
  6. That's called helping yourself...essentially Ohka's hit plated two. http://img397.imageshack.us/img397/428/kazoo24du.gif
  7. I know this is extremely early to start an in-game thread, but this is my first one and Tomokazu is on the mound... Dave Williams, LHP (0-2, 8.00 ERA) http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/400063.jpg vs. Tomokazu Ohka, RHP (1-1, 3.00 ERA) http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/219594.jpg MLB.com scouting report Williams, acquired in the offseason from the Pittsburgh Pirates, threw well in his first start but took a loss after allowing three runs (two earned) in six innings. Williams' second start did not go so well. He allowed six runs (all earned) on six hits, including two home runs, over three innings in a loss to St. Louis on Saturday. Ohka picked up his first victory of the season on April 15 at New York, pitching seven strong innings against a red-hot Mets lineup. In seven innings, Ohka allowed two runs (one earned) and five hits, walking two and striking out five. He is 4-2 in his career against the Reds. Brewers hitters vs. Dave Williams Brady Clark: 2-10, 1 2B, 2 BB Chad Moeller: 2-4, 1 2B Geoff Jenkins: 3-9, 1 3B, 1HR, 2 RBI Carlos Lee: 1-3, 1 2B Bill Hall: 1-4, 1 HR, 3 RBI Reds hitters vs. Tomo Ohka Adam Dunn: 8-18, 3 HR, 3 RBI Javier Valentin: 5-9, 1 HR, 3 RBI Austin Kearns: 1-11, 5 SO Rich Aurilia: 4-20, 5 SO Ryan Freel: 3-15, 1 SO http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/7316/kazoo13ft.gif
  8. Glad to get the toughest roadtrip of the entire season behind us and the Brewers stand here today with a winning record. Now let's flash some talent on this homestand.
  9. I've got egg on my face and it feels so good. Ned looking like a genius with Cirillo in there. I thought maybe Hall could have sat instead of Prince but Hall has been $$$ tonight as well. And last week I was calling for Capellan to be sent down to find another pitch. His line since: 5.1 innings pitched, 1 hit, 0 runs, 6 Ks.
  10. Baby steps...we've held the lead for 1 inning!
  11. Here's a novel idea...we hold this lead for the duration of the game. Nice job getting the run in Damian, now let's get it done.
  12. Prince is arguably one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball right now. I hope we win so we can forget all about the potential "what ifs".
  13. I don't think the issue is giving Prince the occasional day off. It has everything to do with his hot bat and a team that's lost 7 of 9.
  14. Hall is 1 for 8 with 2Ks against Pettitte. I'd rather see him sit and let Jeff play 3rd.
  15. Prince is 5 for 16 with a HR in the bigs versus lefties.
  16. I hate seeing Fielder benched. He's one of our best hitters right now, regardless if it's versus a lefty.
  17. Lineup: Clark Hardy Jenkins Lee Hall Weeks Cirillo Miller Capuano
  18. Hmmm...is tonight a sign that we're about to break out and get back on the winning track or just a case of guys hitting when the pressure is off and we're down 9 runs? I will say this... I think this has to be the toughest road trip of the year. Cards are tough no matter where you play them. Mets have the best record in baseball and a killer lineup. And Minute Maid is our personal house of horrors. If we avoid getting swept in all 3 places with a win tommorrow and get past this road trip with a record above .500, I'll be able to put this all behind me real quick.
  19. Lee and Jenkins are about as hot as you can expect them to be, and at the same time no less, yet we're still losing. That's not a very pleasant thought.
  20. It's hard to get the timing against a guy like that when you don't even swing until you have 2 strikes against you. Hall made a nice recovery to draw it full but he took that "hit it 500 feet swing" and was overmatched because of it.
  21. There's nothing I despise more than watching the first two pitches right down the middle and falling behind 0-2 without even swinging the bat.
  22. This is the kind of stuff that makes the hitters stats look nice at the end of the year. We sure can hit when the pressure is off. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Note: the wink means I'm being facetious and I don't need to be bombarded by the stathounds with numbers that show we are a decent hitting team when it's close and late.
  23. Putting the ball in play is such a wonderful thing.
  24. Wow...Brady is such a horrible baserunner. Thank goodness it didn't cost us.
  25. I think all of us have gone through stretches where we've voiced our frustration. Some of you seem to be upset that all of us aren't venting to the same degree you are. But I know in my case, it's just a matter of coming to the realization that nothing I say or do is going to change the outcome. And minus the whining, complaining, and throwing fits I find that I'm able to put losses like these behind me much quicker. Edit: See now isn't that a 100 times more constructive way to speak to someone who is venting and complaining?
