  1. This team under Yost has no edge. Players may love playing for him, but smiles and giggles don't drive runs in in clutch situations. The Cubs are a talented team with no edge except for Zambrano and almost damn near impossible to have less edge than. Yet somehow we manage to have even less of an edge than the Cubs, a team full of whiners and excuse makers. Hell the Pirates have less to work with but at least have an edge to them, Some of that has to be due to McClendon. Carlos Lee come here with an edge to him. Its time for Yost to direct these guys to follow Lee or else his talent will be squandered here. Mr. "It's Time for Results" and "I'm Going to Manage with My Head not My Heart" better live up to his own words.
  2. Yost's managing style has created a bunch of wusses. He coddles Helms into a big wuss and now it's starting to rub off on everyone else. We have turned these guys into a bunch that get hits left and right in non-pressure situations. But when the game is on the line they all take until two strikes and then flail away for strike three. What the heck happened to managing with your darn head, huh Yost? Did he play a hunch with Jenkins there? They guy is slumping, and even more important has been pressing in tight sitations for 2+ years now, and you don't have him drop a bunt. You'll take the bat out of Branyan's hands to drop one down but not Jenks. Branyan's a better hitter than Jenkins right now. When you coddle these clowns and don't humble them once in while they become a bunch of wusses. And wusses don't get clutch hits. You can bring in new talent but when your manager coddles egos until they become Wes Helmsesque, you get too many friggin' losses like this one.
  3. Looks like Ned's trying to make Jorge think he's still in AAA with that lineup he threw out there.
  4. Perhaps a countdown to the day Wes Helms is no longer a member of the Brewers organization.
  5. Yeah, but I'm not sure she's happy about the win. If we win games fans might continue to show up at the gates. And if attendance doensn't drop low enough, Wendy won't be able to move the team without first needing approval from the stadium board. Whereas if she can put a team out there crappy enough to keep the fans away, it will trigger an obscure clause allowing her to break the lease and move the team without needing anyone's consent. Oh wait...
  6. Thank you brettac1...thank you Bill Hall!
  7. MLB Game Tracker had Clark going up into about row 5 of the RF stands to catch that sac fly. Did we have a 3-run bomb saving web gem or are their graphics that off?
  8. Podsednik and Jenkins both 2 for 3 in the same game? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif Did someone knock me out and send me back to 2003?
  9. Bill Hall must play! 6 for 9 versus Harang with 3 doubles, 1 homer, and 5 RBI. If he doesn't play tonight it's a traveshamockery.
  10. If I were a betting man, I would put a large sum of money on the Cubs today. It pains me to say that. Good thing I'm not a betting man. At least not today. Perfectly executed reverse jinx. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/glasses.gif
  11. If I were a betting man, I would put a large sum of money on the Cubs today. It pains me to say that.
  12. Well, we go into the break with one less Wes than we started the season with. It's the one we're still stuck with that I wish we'd get rid of.
  13. C'mon Hall get on and let's get a 3-run jack to tie it.
  14. I really, really dislike Wes Helms. I can't wait until his days as a Brewer are over. Wow was that Helms batting LH? Grieve you pulled a Wes.
  15. I resigned myself to get positive about halfway through this thread...BUT Wes Helms is not even a major league calibur player at this point. He can't even field a grounder anymore. Yes, I know it took a tough hop but major leaguers make that play once in awhile. Please replace that stiff. And let's rally...I haven't given up on this one yet.
  16. Ouch...the bullpen is failing us today. Kolb gives up runs, extra base hits in the form of home runs, and all of the sudden looks human. I's a damn shame we couldn't handle this Red's lineup today. It's gonna take an effort as of yet not seen from the bottom of the lineup to pull this one out today.
  17. Now we're gonna need Kolb to work out of it. Still no extra base hits vs. Kolb thanks to Pods error. Let's get positive fellas and steer this thread towards a Brewer win.
  18. Allright Kolb...let's get through this without a sweat mmkay. It's gonna be tough with the bottom of the lineup coming up for the Crew. Especially since Hall has already been spent pinch-hitting earlier. It sure would have been nice having him in Helms place all game. Is it too much to ask for Helms to make contact and have the ball find grass in the outfield somewhere? It would be nice to get the leadoff man aboard to start the 9th.
  19. YES LYLE!!!! I cut off my post above as just after I finished typing it...YOU DID IT!!!!!!!!!
  20. Ouch...1 pitch and 1 out. Might need Lyle to jack one out to tie this up and pray for the bullpen to Edit: And he does it! The rest of my thought was that with the way our bottom lineup hits we might have to go extras to win it so hopefully the bullpen is up to the challenge.
  21. Nice job Vizzy...this is the inning to get it started. Score a couple and then turn it over to Kolb and get into the AS break on a major high note.
  22. Hopefully Vizzy can get us out of this unscathed and then Jenks gets to lead off the inning...something he's actually had success with. And then with Overbay, we have a shot to get something going. We probably gonna need to get something out of the bottom of the lineup in order to win this thing. The 8th inning is gonna be key...maybe we'll see Grieve.
  23. And Wes Helms had no business being in the lineup today. He is more lost up there than Bennett. It's time to swallow the pride and admit that the Wes Helms pet project has failed. People look for a spot to get better...there it is. Get us a 3rd baseball who can hit.
  24. Yeah I had a good look at it. It was just a blinking stab at it and the ball found his glove. Ginter even seemed surprised to have come up with it. But hey, chalk it up to fast reflexes.
