  1. I tried to avoid Anc as much as possible when I lived in AK. Its sort of dirty and isn't very "Alaskan." Individuals who live outside of Anchorage describe it as "a suburb of Seattle" or say things like "you can see Alaska from Anchorage." I would drive down the Kenai if I had a day to kill. There is a lot to do there.
  2. Why is the game blacked out? It's not being shown on FSN or wmlm.
  3. Per MLB Trade Rumors The Giants designated infielder Bill Hall for assignment to open a roster spot for newly-acquired Carlos Beltran, tweets Hank Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle. Hall, 31, hit .158/.220/.211 in 41 plate appearances for the Giants, playing mostly second base. He'd been released by the Astros previously after signing a $3MM contract in December.
  4. Are you flying into Whittier or Anc? If you are flying into Anc, I'd suggest arriving a few days early and heading to the Kenai (Homer or Seward) or driving north to Denali. Southeast AK is very different than the rest of Alaska so this would allow you to see some different country.
  5. I was at the game tonight, and I wasn't even able to enjoy it after Rickie got hurt. When he was helped up and couldn't put any weight on his foot I couldn't help myself and shouted a naughty word. The people seated in front of me (Cubs fans) actually jumped out of their seats. I'm so bummed out right now.
  6. I think Bill Hall makes a lot of sense. He can play anywhere. He can even pitch.
  7. Hopefully serious and involves the Brewers getting Alexi or Beckham.
  8. Beltran + 4m for Wheeler. Could the Brewers have gotten the same deal for Thornburg or Peralta? Not saying I'd want to do it, but I'm curious.
  9. Brwrsfan - Thanks for sharing your story. I've been checking out the website and youtube clips on TM. From the clips I've seen it appears that you have time to catch your breath at each obstacle since there is usually a bit of a logjam so you are only running 1/4 mile or so before an obstacle. Is this the case?
  10. Smasdfl;kadsfoihasdlfkh is up in the Cubs pen. Time for some Badger Mutual insurance runs.
  11. Pretty awful time for a rain delay in NY. CC is perfect through 5.
  12. I think laying in a tanning bed and bleach blond hair adds about 11 years.
  13. It's hard to believe that ESPN is showing the Braves v Pirates since both the Yanks and Sox are playing at the same time.
  14. I live in Madison, and I understand that people love riding their bicycles. I loved riding mine too, but then I turned 16, got a drivers license, and ditched the bike. Attention bicycle riders (I refuse to say bikers as that conjures the image of tough guys; not people pedaling a bicycle wearing spandex that matches their helmet). You cannot have it both ways. You cannot be a vehicle AND a pedestrian. If you want to be treated like a vehicle and ride in the road then you need to obey traffic laws and pedal faster than 4 mph. People would throw things at my jeep if I was driving 4 mph in a city. The other day I saw a group of bicycle riders pedaling around carrying signs that said something to the effect of "bicycles have equal rights," and they were intentionally riding slowly and taking up an entire lane to prove their "point." I couldn't honk though because they would run me out of Madison and take away my liberal card for daring to disturb these champions of bicyclists rights.
  15. Probably just a leverage move, but I hope the Brewers don't reach this stage with Jungmann, Bradley, or Lopez. Does anyone actually go play in the independent leagues? Would the Astros still retain his rights since he'd be playing professionally?
  16. Kenny Williams stated that he might "turn over the entire roster" if the White Sox are unable to get back into the race in the Central. Any chance the Brewers have the ammo in the farm system to land him? His .270/.332/.402/.734 would look great in the Brewers lineup. 17. COBrewerfan- Please troll somewhere else. JSOnline would be a perfect place.
  18. Going 5-6 after starting the road trip 0-2 works for me. Time to beat up on some scrubby teams.
