  1. Yes! This is a great deal for the Brewers. I had posted last season that I hoped for a 4/25 deal, though as time passed I was losing hope. People have mentioned how the deal is a gamble based on hopes of continued progression, however I believe that he is worth the money no matter what. The exciting part of the deal is that he could end up being a star for a cheap.
  2. Wow! I was at that game and probably not more than 20 yards from you and this story. I remember telling the friend I was with "not to worry about ever seeing a perfect game--you'll be able to tell your grand kids you were there when Craig Counsell hit a grand slam!" That was a fun game.
  3. Nori is in the booth?
  4. Career highs in: HR: 19 (previous was 8) AVG: .260 (.258) OBP: .303 (.296) SLG: .464 (.403) SB: 37 (33) His sabers even more impressive: wRC+: 114 (91) wOBA: .342 (.307) And a BAPIP of .295 suggests he was even a bit unlucky. Tremendous improvement across the board. If ONLY he walked more. I really think we should make a small extension offer. I believe he has a lot left to show us and I'd love to have him as a Brewer from age 27-30.
  5. 7-0 over the last seven games and have the Cards go 3-3. That's what I would do!
  6. Wow gang, this team keeps proving to us that it's not the same team from a month ago. Clutch hitting and a reliable bullpen. They won't quit!
  7. What was the better DM off-season move? Aoki or Ramirez? He's pushed all the right buttons this season.
  8. I think they need to go 6-4 and with the way things are going, that should be attainable. Split with the Nats, win the other two series and the Brewers should be within striking distance for the final home stand.
  9. We are better than the Phillies. Have had a better roster from day one.
  10. 2-2 split Could argue either way for Cards or Dodgers depending on which team you think will win more games down the stretch. Rooting for the Dodgers to sweep. They have the hardest schedule in the NL the rest of the way and the Cards have one of the easiest. Plus, always root against the Cardinals, right?
  11. baseball is a lot of fun when your team is playing with house money. i just hope i'm not too crushed when they pull the chips back.
  12. Cardinals and Dodgers both lose. Four games now separate five teams for the final NL wild card spot.
  13. the padres helping out. what fun it is to scoreboard watch in september.
  14. can we scoreboard watch in this thread? the cards are in a jam up 2-1 in the 4th. mlb.tv fired up for moi.
  15. Fighting for a chance to get into a one-game playoff to be the last team in the postseason is definitely not a pennant race. I realize this is the optimism thread, but the Brewers are fighting to finish with the 5th best record in the NL. while true, this is baseball in 2012. you can win a pennant a number of different ways now (just ask the cardinals). semantics.
  16. hi, i'm brewerterp and my team is in a pennant race.
  17. Aramis Ramirez is on pace to have as good of a season as Prince ever had. I'm cool with Rammy.
