  1. You know what's sad? I figured I was wrong and typed it anyway. Shame on me. Shows you what can happen when you get caught up in someone's unwarranted reputation. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  2. I still can't believe you can say "piss" on the board.
  3. Sell what? Outside of Big Z, who is unstable enough to kill his own trade value, what do they have to sell? They have too much money sunk into their key players to get rid of any of them. And they can trade Big Z for all I care. It's not like he had anything to do with what happened today.
  4. I follow the Twins closely enough to remember last season and know that this statement is absolutely false. 10.5 games looks like a lot, but it isn't if one team gets hot and the other one chills quickly.
  5. How big was the wild pitch? Or the leadoff walks that led to runs? The guy who said it's one game is right. They'll regroup and we have Sheets throwing tomorrow. The Cubs don't make much headway even with a sweep, as the lead doesn't even get cut in half if that happens. And they probably owed us one after that game in April where they led 4-0 and we came back. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. As long as Bush and Vargas are staying in the rotation, I don't see this changing anytime soon.
  7. Thought it was going to be easy. Just like the rest of us. I'd love to blame the bullpen, but it's ridiculous that we let them off the hook after slaughtering Hill in the first inning. Then again, if Cordero had missed Estrada's target on that last pitch by any more, Estrada would have pulled a muscle trying to get to the spot the ball was going. You just can't miss by that much against major league hitters.
  8. That's the problem. It wasn't a strike all day. Typical Froemming. He picks and chooses what to call. I can't believe we lost this game.
  9. That call was a joke, considering the stuff he hasn't been calling today. I can see why players get so dadgum mad at umps with floating strike zones. How do you know what you have to swing at with someone this bad behind the dish?
  10. I'm glad Graffy got on base and all, but are we saving Jenkins for a rainy day or is he just not available? I don't get it. If I'm choosing, I'm taking the guy with an .899 OPS against righties ahead of the guy with a .673 OPS against righties. But that's just me.
  11. FTC-- I was thinking the same thing about the strike zone. It just seems like this guy's been all over the place today, and it's sucked both ways. CoCo's up. Unless this game gets moved to Arlington before it's over, I like our chances. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. It's gotta be nice to see the other team warming up the bullpen while you bat before you've thrown a pitch. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

  14. Anyone got visual? What's the crowd look like? Is it raining down there? If not, why is the roof closed?
  15. When Geoff Jenkins gets a day off, he gets a day off, dangit. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  16. This is a good point. Hadn't really thought of it. That said, it doesn't make much sense to me to burn Villy AND Turnbow, and then burn Wise when the game is out of hand. Maybe it's a good thing that I just can't figure out the bullpen usage by Ned. He uses mop-up guys in strange situations, and then he uses our good guys in mop-up situations. It's all very odd.
  17. 1. I was okay with Turnbow in the 8th. Hart's home run to make it a five-run lead came with two outs. Even though Ned should have had either Spurling or Capellan warming up once they started getting baserunners, I'll give him benefit of the doubt. 2. Wise in the 9th was unacceptable. Capellan and Spurling need to work once in a while, and blowouts seem like the best time. Oh, well. I'm just happy we got insurance runs and put that team away last night. The offense really stepped up after Suppan tried to blow the lead in the fifth.
  18. I was tucking my son into bed. What happened?
  19. Give Suppan a two run lead, and watch him give it away. Then give him a FOUR run lead, and watch him do his best to give it away with a bunch of two-out hits. What can we do? Just suck it up and let him be practically an automatic loss until he works whatever the problem is out? Hypnotize him into thinking it's the 2006 playoffs all over again? ----- Continued from: viewtopic.php?p=165080#p165080 Original Lead: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=382
  20. Cripes. I know we're paying him like $53 million this season or whatever, but can we put Suppan in the bullpen when Capuano is ready? This is getting ridiculous. Maybe try skipping a turn next time around or something.
  21. I hear this Ryan Braun guy is pretty good.
  22. Nice DP guys. Now let's get to JDLR early. You know, the opposite of how we handled Obermueller when he pitched in Milwaukee.

  24. Oh, well. Why would you pinch-hit for Counsell? What sense would that make? If CoCo blows this save, you're going to need some bench players for the 15th inning.
  25. Yeah, but that one's a little much. Unless you're putting Jenkins in to pitch, you can't leave him in the game without taking someone else out (a position player, that is). The only way around it is to have the pitcher hit for himself, and I'm guessing a few more of us would have had a problem with that.
