  1. Three errors in one inning, and I assume the scorer is only going to count one of them. Ridiculous. He took an awful angle and HAD IT RIGHT IN HIS GLOVE.
  2. Same ol' Brewers, I guess. Can't hit and can't field. Good thing we can pitch. And I should emphasize the word "pitch", because we got two rocks atop the rotation for however long we're in this thing.
  3. FYI I am 90% sure that TNT will be used to cover overlaps. No worries.
  4. They also blew a four-run lead in the ninth against the Cubs, lost twice to the awful Reds, and continued to hit poorly and play poor defense. Yeah, Sveum pushed a couple of correct buttons with the lineup (Ray Durham comes to mind immediately). But many of our complaints went unaddressed. Counsell was out there way too much, Branyan was still buried as if he had slept with someone's wife, Mike Rivera didn't see the light of day very often, and FREAKING COREY HART (sorry) played every day, despite the fact that he has been made to look worse than Ben Sheets at the plate lately. (NOTE: By "our", I'm referring to complains I've lodged, as well as others I've seen more than once around here. The list is not meant to be a complete one by any stretch.) I'm not here to rip Sveum, and I do think the change had a positive impact. And I do think he did a pretty good job overall (I really like how he handled the pitching staff and the issues with the rotation as Sheets struggled with his health). I'm just not sure how much of an impact it was, and I don't think it's fair to give him too much credit for this team making the playoffs. They were technically in playoff position when Ned was let go, so it's not like Sveum had to pull off a miracle here.
  5. I'd like to feel sorry for him, but I'm too busy celebrating what this team was able to accomplish. I won't go so far as to say they wouldn't have made it with him. I am not sure that's fair, because it's not like they've been lighting the world on fire without him.
  6. Thinking about this quote made me think of a different quote: Harry Doyle: You know I used to hate Parkman when he was with the A's. It's amazing how a new uniform can change your attitude about a guy. [covers Mic[/i]] Harry Doyle: He's still a (bleep).
  7. No one even cares that the Packers played like garbage and lost today. Doesn't matter in Wisconsin on this day.

  9. You mean there isn't one hitter who would have been a better option there than Corey Hart?

  11. I'm getting this sinking feeling, and it gets worse every time I hear Brian or Bill mention the playoffs.
  12. Shoot, she's probably better than him.
  13. Let's just eat Suppan's stupid contract this off-season, okay? Absolutely pathetic. So much for him being a big-game pitcher. He's getting crushed.
  14. Brian's microphone is wonky again tonight. I may have missed a memo: Why aren't the Brewers wearing the retros tonight?
  15. Worth every penny of that $10 million or whatever. Just take the rest of the night off, Cammy. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  16. Three batters. Three hard-hit balls. I'm so glad Suppan was available.
  17. I'm apparently in the minority, but I give Gagne a ton of credit. He could have taken the money and taken off. Instead, he's worked through his problems and tried very hard to become a reliable bullpen option. Shows me that he still has a burning desire to play, and if he is motivated, he could be a huge part of this team should something good happen this weekend.
  18. Well, don't I look like a dope. They're sucking me back in. I hate baseball. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif
  19. I battled this in my mind. I really don't like the idea of "quitting on your team". In the same breath, however, I don't feel like I'm quitting on my team. Had I not already endured 20+ seasons of having my hopes dashed, I'd think I was quitting. If I didn't know that I'd be around again next season with the same hopes, I'd think I was quitting. I just can't take any more kicks in the teeth, punches in the stomach, or slaps to the face. Not now. Maybe again next year. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. That'll be all for me. I made the mistake of coming back after Ned got tossed. I kinda figured it wouldn't be the rescue the club needed, but I was also optimistic they'd play better for a new guy. Instead, I get the same old dumb(bleep) baseball that's been the calling card of this team for so long. Guys swinging out of their shoes at terrible pitches, letting flat pitches down the middle of the plate float by when it's already a two-strike count, third-base coaches who make really stupid decisions, pitchers and catchers who do insanely dumb stuff, and just the general inability of this team to even make contact with the baseball when that's all it would take to get a run home. We have to be the stupidest team in baseball, and I'm tired of it. I have better ways to spend my nights than watching this team crap all over themselves in September. Just another baseball season in Milwaukee. Bad baseball mixed with fun, intelligent, articulate, loyal fans who deserve so much better. Maybe someday we'll actually be rewarded for our loyalty, instead of getting (bleep)ed on. (If the self-censorship isn't kosher, I apologize. I'll freely admit to being too lazy to look up the rules right now. If it needs to be toned down, I will gladly do that. If it doesn't, I'd prefer that the message stay intact. There is a genuine frustration that I think this conveys in the best possible way without saying really naughty things.)
  21. I didn't see the first eight innings, but Rapuano has been pretty consistent with the outside pitches since I've been watching. The one to Braun was within the framework, and so were these ones to Edmonds, who is acting like a freaking two-year-old. You'd think someone as experienced as Edmonds would know better than to behave like that.
  22. Who the hell did we sign to put in Seth McClung's uniform?
  23. Well, I'd like to thank the leadoff hitter and our best hitter for looking at perfectly good pitches, and our fat hitter for swinging at one he couldn't have hit if he had Yao Ming's arms. That was totally useless. Now we can finish losing this game in spectacular fashion, or maybe something good can happen to us for once.
