  1. Looking ahead to 2010 season and the $$$ committed to players Suppan- 12.5M... Thank you very much for the last year of contract w/ club option for '11 Hall- 8.4M... Last year of contract w/ club option for '11 Riske- 4.5M... Last year w/ club option for '11 Braun- 1M Fielder- 9.5M... Assuming the reach the 2 year deal Total of $$$ committed= 35.9M
  2. The Brewers are closing in on a 2 year deal with Prince Fielder probably in the 18-20 million range. That would put our payroll at 78 range. 3 Million to spend if we get to last season's opening number. Hmmm
  3. Very nice! I see Melvin waiting and making a move on a FA pitcher worth around $5M, trading Hart, or keeping the roster (WORST move ever IMO) and saving the money to carry over to next season.
  4. I think the difference is 25 man vs 40 man. If you take the total of the salary page, it has 38 players. Take off 13 salaries at $400,000 and that subtracts $5.2 million. I had the figure around 76 million as well. Gives us around 6-7 to spend. Also, I believe the Brewers were expecting 9-10 for Fielder and when they heard 8 they knew they had a steal. I think they were set on paying him at least 8 million. Coming in with an offer of 6 is a smart move by Milwaukee. Now they can negotiate somewhere around 7 and the Crew would be saving at least 1 million.
  5. We need to talk to Dunn and see if he is interested in Milwaukee first, then if he is we need to talk with SF about doing the trade.
  6. With the Arb. raises and figures coming in on the players I have the payroll around $76 Million. $81 Million was last year's opening payroll and with the 1 million tickets sold already and price increase I don't see a reason that are payroll should not be around $83 at least. Attansio bought the team and it was around $40 million and that was in 2005 Now it is double that in 4 years. That means we have about $7 million or so to spend this offseason to get to the $83 mark. Here is an option for Hart that has been discussed. Trade Hart to the Giants for Jonathan Sanchez Hart is due to make around $3.3 this season and Sanchez would be about $500K. We save the nearly $3 million in saving and add to it the $7 and we have $10M to sign Adam Dunn. Sign him to a 3 year/$27-$30 Million deal. If we can pick him up for about $8M this season we have 2 in reserve. Plus, Randy Winn is a free agent next season and is making $8.25M this year.
