  1. So when I did nlcs I couldn't find anything other than terrace reserve, gave up, and somehow came back the next day for public pre-sale and found two club tickets. Hoping I have similar luck this time. Couldn't find anything today other than uecker and SRO. I may go insane if I have to click another fire hydrant, storefront, or traffic light..
  2. Look. At. The. Source. Dude is spewing crap all day. Same guy said archer is coming here.
  3. I don't think we're getting either degrom or Thor without Including hiura, but for them I'd entertain the idea.
  4. Any chance that this is a preventative move and shaw goes on to the DL for a while? I know he's been playing hurt for a while (I remember a beat writer mentioning that a few weeks back on Twitter). Obviously wouldn't be ideal, but just throwing it out there.
  5. Ummmmmm. I'm confused. What will moose do for us? This shaw second base thing can't be real
  6. Why are you so insistent on adding a vet, let alone Hamels? Trying to compare Verlander to Hamels isn't going to end up well. Hamels had a Meh 17, and has been having an awful 18. He hasn't been good since 2016. Verlander was having an OK 17, then lights out when he got traded, and has been this year as well. He was also an August 31 trade vs a deadline guy, on a team that had the best positional player roster in baseball at the time. I'm fine giving up prospects for rentals, if they're good. I don't understand adding a vet just so we can say we have one. He wouldn't be starting a playoff game for us.
  7. Cimber has a CRAZY delivery, submarine style. Fangraphs did something on him where his fastball ends up five inches higher than where it's released on average or something like that.
  8. I mean knebel and hand are pretty comparable, but climber is no throw in.. On a rookie contract still, is 27 so a late bloomer, has held righties to a 210/221/261 line this year which he also did in the minors. This is another long term, controlled reliever who would seem to be on his way to becoming great.
  9. Why do you think we would have been able to get Mejia straight up for knebel?
  10. Was this the work of a group of hackers breaking into some long erased series of tweets? Or was it just a guy who left the door to his ugly past open for anyone to see? That's what I'm wondering too. I cannot believe this wouldn't have been unearthed before last night. It isn't like Hader hasn't been a star for roughly a year now. Plus the Brewers market the crap out of him. There is no way someone wouldn't have stumbled on this before now. I don't know ... seems fishy. I get what you're saying here, but remember baseball is SUCH a regional sport. This is very likely the first time a lot of baseball fans (especially casual fans) have seen Hader pitch.
  11. We're serious here?
  12. Wow, way to jump the gun on this one. Rocker, according to Wikipedia: Stated that the biggest thing he didn't like about NY was the foreigners, and "having to sit next to some q**** with aids" in a bus Referred to a curocoan teammate as a fat monkey, and mocked an Asian woman during an interview session Directed slurs towards patrons at a Dallas restaurant located in a heavily LGBT populated area Said that the holocaust could have been prevented in Germany had there not been gun control laws ... And this wasn't when he was 17. Im not justifying what Hader did, but making the comparison to rocker could not be more hyperbolic
  13. I hate this digging in the past thing with athletes. It gets old. I know we all did/said stupid stuff when we were younger. If I'm being honest with myself, there's a bunch of stupid stuff I said when I was younger that I wouldn't be caught dead saying today. With that said, obviously he had to apologize for it, and he did. Like someone mentioned above this it the type of thing that agents should look at when a player signs on to make sure that all of this is gone. Ultimately it shouldn't have been posted to begin with, and I'm sure Josh regrets it and like he said, he'll deal with the consequences. In my opinion I think the PR hit from this is punishment enough, as is the shame he'll have to deal with in the clubhouse.
  14. Man you are coming off as really pechulant here with this. Did you have money on the crew getting him or what? Wait until the deadline passes to judge him as a GM this year. You can't say he made a bad move when nothing has been done yet. What if we get degrom because we passed up on Machado? What if we end up with realmuto? We have a couple weeks yet. Patience.
  15. Manny is a a generational talent that plays infield. He's harper but at short/third.. Or better than harper imo. Why is he a bad clubhouse guy? Because of the thing against the A's when he was 21 years old, or when he got a 99mph pitch thrown at his back by a notorious hot head pitcher and charged the mound? Comparing him to Escobar or Miller isn't really doing him justice. In 15&16 Machado was worth more WAR than those two combined for their careers. He'd have the highest oWAR of anyone on the team by a full win. Defense obviously isn't the best but that bat in this lineup will be one of the more ridiculous 1-6 I can remember in recent history.
  16. I'm not sure if that description of where trades are at could be any more vague However, if we are actually getting in the bidding, this will obviously be huge for us. Allows saladino and Perez to go into super utility roles (where they probably should be used) and if shaw needs a day or gets injured we can slide Machado to third. This would be a big get for the crew.
  17. We're getting closer..
  18. THat is not too tin hat-ish. Maybe the guy has a connection at the agency? That was my thought, but Napoli doesn't go through them. *shrug* Let the speculation continue! I need something to make me less productive at work.
  19. Put on your tin hats.. Lincecum and cobb both go through Beverly hills sports council for their agents. (maybe this should be blueish)
  20. I have liked the idea of cobb for a while. He didn't pitch much in 16, and was ok in 17, but his second half numbers were a good bit better than the first. Fangraphs did a couple articles about him last year and what he's doing. Obviously we're looking at high gb% guys and he fits the mold.
  21. He's been coming to us when he has something, no need to push it. We're all excited for any bit of news but the guy has a life outside of being our resident insider.
  22. Ok, again, this is your opinion.. We get it. You don't like the guy. Unless there's something else you want to say besides the fact that you don't like him, maybe just stay away from the thread? Seems to be causing you lots of stress if he invokes that kind of response from you.
  23. Anyway, let's just take a second and realize that we have created a three page thread because a known parody account posted a picture of Jack Bauer on his timeline.. Edit.. Four pages!
  24. Excuse me, where did you get the idea that Bauer was a close to being a non-tender candidate? He is currently waiting for his arbitration hearing and both submitted figures are significantly under the MLBTR projection of $7.7MM (Bauer's side = $6.25MM, Tribe at $5.3MM).. I was wondering this same thing, so I Googled it.. There was a mention of it that he COULD be a non tender.. But that's about it.
  25. He's a mid rotation starter on a team that had two pitchers in the top 10 of the AL for War. One of which is the Cy young winner. He'd likely be a #2 on most staffs. If you don't like the guy that's fine, everyone has their own opinion, don't let it cloud your judgment of his talent just because he doesn't agree with you on something. I don't agree with his politics, but this is sports; his stance on anything doesn't change the fact that he's talented, and if he was on this team currently we'd be supporting him.
