I disagree. After we burn this year, he could be flipped for the final two years to a contender. Assuming he plays ok and we don't backload the contract.

I'm not 100% opposed to Korver as the contract would be fair market value. So, he could be traded (for another 2nd-round pick!) if he plays well. Also, Korever would stop us from doing anything with JR. That is a good thing. If I'm correct on this, the Bucks to have to spend some $ to get to 90% of the cap. As I understand, there is a floor on payroll. I'd hope that Korver would come off the bench.

I actually would not have cared too much if they got Butler. He expires at the end of the season and if he actually would have played decent, the Bucks could have flipped him before the deadline and gotten at least another pick. They might have accidentally won a few more games, but lottery odds wouldn't have been moved too much by that. What a crazy league that NBA teams either have to be close to eliete level, or they are better off just to stink as much as possible.

Fair point. I do like that Drew has done it before. When the Bucks went with first time guys before it didn't go so well, so I did favor Drew a bit

Drew will do fine. Scott did fine. NBA coaches have some influence on the concepts a team takes to the floor, but after that we know its the players who decide games.

I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see how 2014 is going to be much better. Maybe 2015 if the youth movement of starting pitching can come thru. 2016 might be more viable. Get what we can get on the market from the big-league roster now I suppose. I do want to put a clause in here that I tend to be rash when it comes to the 'crew.

I'm late to this party, so I'll just add that I agree with Nottso. Additionally, if we survived 2001-2003, we can live thru this. We all knew that a year or two like this season is heading was coming. So, here's to Kyle getting on a run, Am-Ram smashing a few and DM dealing before July 31. It would seem that targeting 2015 would be a viable plan.
