  1. Does any adult like the Christmas season? Seriously? I hate it, and I don't have to organize presents and kids and relatives. Thank God for New Years!
  2. RIP Patrick, you were a man amongst boys, as depicted in the classic, "so bad it's good" Roadhouse. I hope that Chris Farley is one of the first people you meet in Heaven. That Chippendales sketch always made me feel good.
  3. What the hell. Hardy should not be getting a start the entire rest of the way. This team needs more speed, Escobar provides that, Hardy doesn't. We don't need any more 20 hr guys, we need 40 steal guys.
  4. Hardy is getting a start tonight? Fire Macha, fire him now. If this was Melvin's doing, fire him. There is absolutely no reason Hardy should be starting. None.
  5. I would go back to 1922 and watch Rogers Hornsby put up his gaudy, ridiculous season. Stat line: 250 hits, 141 runs, 46 doubles, 14 triples, 42 hrs, 152 rbis, 1.181 OPS, .401 average One of the greatest individual seasons in MLB history, especially because he played 2b.
  6. My TV here in my room is from 1989, its still quite a good TV, for the most part, besides the fact it sounds like a wire or a capacitor is loose in back. It makes these weird electrical sounds when it's on. Its quite distracting and loud. If someone knows anything about TVs and could explain what I can do to fix the thing, please let me know.
  7. I'm betting that the market is going to crater, we're in for a double dip recession/depression. You thought March was bad? heh, what we're seeing right now is the bounce, and its about to peak and fall further back than before. Gerald Celente says buy precious metals, and I wholeheartedly agree. Silver is around $15 dollars an ounce right now, buy $150 worth. If it goes back down, so what, you only spent $150, if it goes up, into the stratosphere, as Celente says, that $150 could make quite a handsome return. We're talking massive returns here, in the absolute worst case scenario for the conventional markets. Don't believe the crap the MSM says about the recession being over. Tell me, what is a recovery without jobs to replace the ones that left? Is anyone else on here aware that the next wave of ARM rates is going to peak next year? This "recovery" is pure BS, hedge yourself accordingly.
  8. Just imagine if someone put Joe Buck and Kornheiser in the same booth. Ego explosion. I hate Joe Buck, in all circumstances. I love Kornheiser on PTI, but keep him very far away from a broadcast booth. Theismann is an ass.
  9. I feel like Gamel will eventually end up in the outfield, so lets get him in left, get Braun accustomed to right, slot in McGeehee at 3rd. I think this would work very well.
  10. What a beautiful first inning, Yo looks good, the bats look great. This should be a fun game. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. Its beyond absurd to me that Rivera doesn't get more starts. I don't mind Kendall, but I never want to see him bat leadoff, ever ever again. Tuck him down in the 8 or even the 9 holes. I thought the experiment with kendall batting 9th worked pretty well last year, its a shame we didn't keep going with it because Hardy whined and whined. Sorry Hardy, you don't have the proper speed to score enough runs when you're batting in the 2 hole and you're too streaky a hitter to move the runners over, you belong at 7 or 8.
  12. I'll take Counsell on my bench any time. Guy gets on base and plays great D, he's an excellent value and a sound player.
  13. Way to go Sanchez! No matter what else you do in your career you will always have this night. Congrats!
  14. Jack Z makes a killing. Way to go. I wonder what the Royals GM is thinking, if he is even thinking.
  15. Milton Bradley could give Hannibal Lecter a lesson in angry crazy outbursts. Lecter has the decency to keep his face eating in private.
  16. This list seems far fetched, I doubt it's veracity. But, if I entertained that it was plausible, this would be devastating to MLB. Lots of major names, would they all be given 50 games for this, or not?
  17. Good for Gwynn! I love following our previous players. Overbay is a having a good year, so is Pods. Good to see our trades work nicely.
  18. These "rants" are not silly or irrelevant, they are quite serious, this is a serious topic, because there are MANY people in jail for nothing else but simple possession, or selling it, or whatever. Some laws are meant to be broken, just as Alcohol Prohibition was unjust and unrealistic, so is Cannabis Prohibition, except Cannabis Prohibition has been going on for 70 years and is far more crazy. Who the hell gets to tell me or anyone else that I can't put cannabis in my body? Coke and Heroin, sure, those are demonstrably bad for you, addictive, and WILL ruin your life, but weed? Weed? If weed ruined your life, there wasn't much there to start with. The only thing foolish about this entire debate is the energy spent by the anti-drug side to imprison, harass, and badger anyone who gets their rocks' off differently from the mainstream alcohol culture. Saying cannabis should be illegal is like saying God made a mistake when it made the Earth. "Woops! I just left all that pot lying around, growing big and beautiful buds. Hmm what should I do, what should I do?" "I know! I'll create Republicans now, to offset my mistake!" Anyways, this is a debate this country needs to have. We make the safest drug illegal, while promoting tobacco and alcohol as the "acceptable" drugs of choice. The proof is the in the pudding, how many people died last year because of chronic tobacco and alcohol use? Now how many people, in the last 10,000 years, have died from chronic cannabis use? The answer is 0.
  19. Our entire society has come a long ways from where it used to be, about Cannabis. It still has a long ways to go. This story about Jeremy is an example. Of anything a person could do, weed is the least of anyone's worries. It was stupid of him to keep smoking and smoking, after he was suspended the first time, but this is rediculous. It was ridiculous the first time he was suspended. How many unrepentant alcoholics have been allowed free reign in baseball? How many Goodens and Strawberries were coked up all the time and let loose? This country disgusts me, throwing stoners in jail, for any reason; growing, transporting, possession. Cannabis should be the least of anyone's worries. The Drug War is nothing but about growing the prison population, creating a police state based on no knock raids and militarized police, and worst of all, trying to foster complete ignorance and fear of something that is natural, safe, and wonderful. Sorry to get political on everyone, but as I say, the War on Drugs is a War on YOU. And now Jeremy Jeffress is a victim amongst millions.
  20. Of anything an athlete could put in their body, marijuana is the least of them. This isn't a big deal, in fact, I actually like Soto more for this. Better then him being a drunk or using PED's.
  21. Our expectations have all been shaped by Braun's meteoric offensive year in 2007. I like Gamel at 3rd, and I'm willing to let him have his lumps. Let him bat low in the order, and to lay off the low outside breaking stuff.
  22. The Cubs and Milton Bradley belong together. They reflect each other's image perfectly.
  23. That would be the sweetest kind of poetry, and justice.
