  1. I wonder when we'll get to the point where we start to question the validity of these tests. I find it hard to believe someone who has no symptoms, tests positive and then negative, actually has Covid. Just seems like the vast majority of healthy young people react very differently to it. There's certainly COVID19 in kids but not sure I've even heard of a kid with symptoms, and I KNOW the media would love for that to happen to breathlessly report on it. Really a virus that attacks older people with severe health issues. Didn't mean for this to be political. Can't believe a few sentences about a virus can even be thought of as political these days haha. Sighhhh.
  2. Yep. Really botched handling of this by both sides. NBA was pretty seamless. Or at least they did the work behind the scenes.
  3. I support what you're saying. And the risk isn't Incredibly low, I think it's basically zero unless one of these guys somehow has an unknown underlying condition. If it is known, then maybe don't play. The statistics for these players' demographic combined with outdoor transmission rates (basically zero unless you sneeze in someone's face) support my zero risk comment. Perhaps a tag play at a base with a collision where someone else's saliva gets in a mouth?? If you've heard of different statistics, I'd love to hear them but don't just scream at me.
  4. In theory I like this idea, but I have to imagine it'd be pretty difficult to moderate. I can definitely see lots of shenanigans going on if you're allowing people to pipe their audio/video into a live event feed, lol. I think technology would be the bigger problem? It'd be more just "noise" that would react to the events going on. With so many people being piped in, couldn't distinguish...at least in my vision haha. Now a hack that takes control of all feeds? That would be a problem.
  5. Are they doing anything technology-wise to replace the crowd? Speakers with fan sounds? I'd like to see the NBA develop something tied to a phone app. Groups of individuals can connect via phone or video, then that group's sounds can be pumped into stadium along with thousands of others. I for one would watch a game on speakerphone with a group of friends and give permission for the audio to be used in-stadium.
  6. When World War 2 broke out, Roosevelt ordered baseball to continue playing for the sole reason it provided those working long days in the war factories with a needed diversion. That saved lives and kept morale up while families across the nation worried about their sons and brothers. We have a serious mental health crisis in this country because of these stay at home orders, that in the long run might be more devastating than the disease. There have already been cases of those on the front lines taking their own lives. I wouldn't be the least offended if major sports used widely available tests, bought privately so they could resume or start playing and providing this country with a much needed diversion. I'm more offended by rich athletes who are in top physical condition being locked up in their 6,000 square feet mansions telling me to stay home in my 1,200 square foot ranch while they sit out the season. The PSA with NFL figures telling me it's going to be all right from their palatial palaces is deeply offensive. Easy for them to say when millions have lost jobs. Amen.
  7. Humourous...I hope.
  8. Glad we didn't sign moose for $60 mill.
  9. We have known this since September 2018. Well, I don't think most fans realize this. Gonna be a tough moment when he's gone. Baseball sucks that way.
  10. Not to sidetrack but looking at what Betts wants to get in his age 29 season... No way the brewers resign yelich
  11. Woof. Don't know what happened in 2019. 2017 and 2018 pretty average to below average as well (depending on position). Big meh.
  12. IF we are competitive next year, Stearns will have really earned his money. Just don't see any likelihoods ANYWHERE. Rendon isn't signing here, no TOR SP is signing here. There are no sure thing 1B or 3B. Yeeesh. We'll see.
  13. AGREED. Shaw had an incredibly long leash. I wanted him gone early on. His bat just had gigantic holes in it.
  14. Good riddance Cards.
  15. I thought Thames toe was still on first when he caught that throw but they weren't even reviewing that it seemed.
  16. Absolutely. When his stuff is working it is so funny.
  17. It'd be on brand for this season to not take care of business going forward after inspiring victories against the Cubs
