  1. At some point, this team will start winning at home, right? Please, top of the order, make today be the beginning...
  2. Yo got squeezed a bit again. Seems like that happens at some inopportune moments.
  3. Ugh. Edit: Since this is post 100, it should probably be more substantial. I appreciate that Gregg Zaun has been hitting better lately, but these DP's are just killers. So frustrating.
  4. Not celebrating until after Zaun hits...please don't clear the bases, Gregg. At least, not in the bad way.
  5. Needed quick inning there. 81 pitches through 5 means he's got a reasonable shot at seven if he can stay strong. More important, though, is run support. We don't have Braun. Someone needs to decide that winning is fun. Let's go bats!
  6. Wow, Jody, that gets any further outside it's up the third base line. Patience, fellas.
  7. Thanks for the Yo info. I think Fielder gets on the board this inning.
  8. I'm stuck on Gameday, and it's behind. Did the liner look bad? Is Yo leaving? That would not be good.
  9. Gallardo is clearly the ace, and I'm in no way complaining about his pitching so far, but it would be really nice if he could start controlling his pitch count a bit more and getting deeper into games. He's got the stuff to attack hitters.
  10. Alright, Fielder! Almost doubling the number of pitches in one AB. Good job.
  11. I'll chime in here with the obligatory, "And 50,000 will claim to have seen it."
  12. Good work, Ken Macha. Better work, Mitch Stetter. Best work, Dallas Braden. Top it all, offense!
  13. Agreed, obsessed. Macha takes a lot of flak (often rightfully), but that was well-handled. He didn't let a still reasonable pitch count and the fact that the pitcher was coming up 2nd trick into pushing Narveson any further. That was the right call, and it worked. Some insurance would be lovely.
  14. Ouch. Good AB from Kennedy. I don't like where this is headed. But I'm holding onto optimism.
  15. Ryan Braun is unreal sometimes. Is there anything he can't do on offense? Homers, executes, and can steal bases. Wow. I'm glad he's got a long term deal. He's a joy to watch.
  16. Kennedy with only 41 pitches through 4 and looking sharp. Narveson might have to be very good over the next couple frames for the Crew to get the W. He's been up to the task so far, but the offense is asking a lot of him right now.
  17. Going to Target Field on Tuesday (provided the weather is good), and I'm excited. It's tough to compare stadia in such different locations. Target Field has a real downtown vibe going for it, which is great, especially if you don't have tickets and just want to enjoy the atmosphere. Miller is great in that regard as well because you can tailgate in the parking space, or catch one of the shuttles from the local bars. And, yeah, the roof is awesome, but one good thing about postponed games: double-headers.
  18. Gameday had the Edmonds pitch in the gray surrounding the zone. It was a very close pitch that fooled Edmonds. Just the way it goes.
  19. In a clutch spot, no less. What do you say the boys get him a "W"?
  20. It is unreal how frustrating this team can be night to night. Long way to go, though. Holding out hope for a big 7th. And for Vargas to make it through unscathed.
  21. The triple was a bit fluky. High fly ball to left center, hit well, thought it was out off the bat. The left and center fielders converged on it in the gap, and there was some confusion about who was going to go after it. They both ended up about 3 feet from the wall. The ball hit the base of the wall on the fly and bounced past both of them. Aside from being in the air a long time, the ball ricocheted really far away from the fielders, and it was still a moderately close play at third. J.J. is still not fast.
  22. April was terrible. I'm as frustrated as anyone. Both the pitching and the offense have had some terrible streaks. That said, this team was going to have a .400 month at some point. It just happened sooner rather than later. I don't think the standings at this point really say much about how everything is going to play out. This team needs to put together a good month, certainly, but it's just too early to get really worked up. Five under can turn around in a week, not to mention how much good a month can do. If this team continues to stink and eventually puts up a significantly sub-.500 May, then I think I'll be "demoralized." Until then, one game at a time. Get the next two series. We're not at the point where the Crew needs to put up 4 and 5 game winning streaks, but it would surely behoove them to start taking some series.
