  1. Alright, not our night. Am I crazy to think the Crew still has a shot to take this in St. Louis? Carpenter-Gallardo is now a huge pivot game, but after that it's Wolf-Lohse and then Greinke-Garcia again. None of those matchups is too scary to me. This series is just getting started. I don't think many people thought there would be a 4-5 game set going on here. This thing is ticketed for 6 or 7, so get some runs, see some pitches, and get the heads screwed on straight for Wednesday.
  2. To revive a mantra from August: Just. Keep. Winning. Go Brewers.
  3. Tomorrow's game just got huge. A win there, and the Crew is kind of playing with house money a bit in game three. All the pressure on the Cards with Carp on the hill, and Milwaukee answering with Yo. Hope Shaun brings his May game to the ballpark. Get some ice on that arm, Ax, need you sharp tomorrow.
  4. Nice work, ZG. 23 pitches in two innings after a 24 pitch first. Go get him a nice little cushion, Big Boppers!
  5. Well, what is it they say? Gotta score one to win anyway, right? Lots of pitches for Zack, but it didn't look like anyone hit it real hard. Hopefully he can have a couple quick innings, and the offense can come out roaring.
  6. Nope. Ueck called the tenth. He's earned it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I think he was so excited it came out all non-sensical, but maybe that was my excitement distorting everything I heard.

  8. Just. Keep. Winning. Brewers. Keep winning one game at a time, and keep this ride going!
  9. Haven't read through the IGT...was too afraid to look. Can't believe it. Tony Bleepin' Clutch. And how about Go-Go and Yuni tonight? Everything bad I've ever said about either of them is forgotten! Go Crew. Pennant Opportunity!

  11. Here we go. Biggest game of my life as a fan. Really proud of this team, and hopeful that there will be a bunch of happy Brewers at around 7:00 (or probably more like 7:30).

  13. I don't know...that seemed like it was Antonio Picante? Not sure Plush can really be blamed for that one http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. Play hard, Brewers. Be patient at the plate, and make smart decisions in the field. Yovani has been your man since 2004, and he's been my favorite Brewer for about that long as well. May he make the leap today. This is where you find out what you're made off. Braun, Fielder, Yo, Rickie, Corey, Yuni, Hairston, McGehee, Green, Hawkins, Saito, Narveson, Lucroy, Kottaras, Wolf, Marcum, Greinke, K-Rod, Ax, Gomez, Plush, Counsell, Estrada, Kotsay, Loe. Total team effort this afternoon and evening. Either way, I'll remember you for a long time, but a win today and you could emphasize the latter half of bittersweet. GO CREW!

  16. Hawing, thanks for linking to that thread. What a great read, and a great way to relive the anxiety of the final day of the season in 2008. I still get chills even thinking about Ueck's "Swing and a DRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE." May we be blessed with more of the same this afternoon (though, as others have pointed out, I'd be pretty cool with a 10-0 Brewers romp). GO CREW! Third biggest game in franchise history today. Who'd have thought we'd be saying that back in 2004?
  17. That is true about noise. Maybe the sound alone will be able to open it up.
  18. Everything I've read indicates that these kinds of things are MLB decisions. They want game conditions "as uniform as possible." No fun, obviously, but I don't think it's the Miller Park folks' call.
  19. Yo is OUR man! Drafted by US. Skills honed by US. Getting his first playoff start with US, his first playoff win with US. This is who WE want on the hill. This is guy who is going to take US to the promised land. Braun, Prince, Rickie are career Brewers at this moment. These are OUR guys on the field, and they are going to all out for US. WE are going to celebrate, and all this anxiety is going to be worth it. Brewers, Brewers, keep turning up the heat....
  20. I'm nervous. Can't think of anything but the game. But this is what the playoffs mean. Who performs better under stress, fear, and anxiety? I will be watching, scared to death, and just hoping to let all the pent up nervous-excitement out in one huge celebratory shout. This is what fans are supposed to live for. I am caring way more than I should, and there is so much on the line. What is it they say? No risk, no reward?
  21. Dear Brewers, Win it for all of us born after 1982, the ones who have only distant memories of the American League and whose young fandom was subjected to a 12-year losing streak. Win it for Ueck, who deserves a pennant opportunity more than anyone I can think of, who needs to have the chance to celebrate a victory that hasn't been scripted. Win it for the city of Milwaukee, the best baseball town there is, a place where you'll be legendary for just one championship. Win it for the small markets, the Pittsburghs and the Oaklands, win it for the teams that would kill to be where you are right now. Win it for the 45,000 that will be there on Friday, waving towels like crazy and yelling at the top of their lungs. Win it for me. Because I don't think I can take coming this close. Because I can't stand an offseason without a series win. Because we've all been waiting a long time for a team this good, that's so much fun to watch. Because I'm not ready for this to end. Not Friday, not yet. GO BREWERS!!!!
  22. Okay, boys. Pennant qualifying win take two. Stay sharp, Wolf. Work the count, hitters. Be smart, coaches. Go Crew!
  23. Agree with Schlitz. At this point, IF we can find a way to win tonight (or Friday), we're going to have to beat either a really, really good team by winning at least one game on the road or a ridiculously hot team that happens to be a major rival. There are plusses and minuses in both scenarios, I think, so why not just enjoy Game 5 and let the baseball gods decide what happens. The good news is that a Brewer win tonight means Gallardo-Greinke avoiding Halladay or Carpenter, and that's big. Really, really could use this this one in a half hour or so. Let's get it and then scout the Phils-Cards pressure free.
  24. I don't want to be blindly optimistic, but I do think that, psychologically, it's probably better to lose a game like this than it is to go down after a walk off or a late inning comeback. This way, everyone can hit the reset button, and Arizona doesn't get the added emotional bump that comes with pulling out a dramatic victory. I think the Crew is going to come out ready to roll tomorrow night. I just get that feeling.
