  1. Maybe there is a catching Mouton.
  2. The Sounds could have a lot of fun with this. Maybe get the singer Corey Hart to perform after a home game and give the first 1000 or so people to the game a free pair of cheap sunglasses.
  3. Butler's future is definately not at third. He isn't a good defensive thirdbaseman at all. I am surprised Gordon would be moved. They must feel like Teahan there. Of course, this is Gammons talking so it is just as likely Gordon won't be moved.
  4. If Weeks signs, if we sign Hereaud, Babineau, and Allar we will have signed all of our picks from rounds 1-15. Very nice.
  5. No they didn't. They are signing him today. They agreed on the deal last week. He is supposedly getting a $1million signing bonus.
  6. Still having weird problems. One of SoCal's posts is dated 6/17/05 and when I posted in that thread my post showed up before his. Weird. Not to bad though. Just weird.
  7. SoCal is posting from the future. And why is my post before his when I posted afterwards?
  8. Swwweeettt debut by T.O.!!! And check out his pitch count. He threw just 98 pitches.
  9. T.O. to debut with a CG shutout? This would be Toooo Swweeeetttt.
  10. TO has been very good tonite. Very good debut. To think, this guy is our fifth starter. We have come a long ways from the days of Jimmy Haynes and company. Now we just need an offense to go with this good pitching.
  11. Tomo Ohka. Our T.O. Lets go T.O. Make us proud.
  12. 3rd rounder Inman is likely the other. He agreed to a deal before the draft. All that was left after the draft was for him to sign the deal. edit: The article said "topping the list" when referring to Gamel so maybe Inman wasn't the other top 10 signed.
  13. I noticed Z was leaning away from HS players but I didn't think it would end up being this drastic. Only a little bit more than a third of the players we drafted are out of high school. A far cry from last year. He also went with a good amount of juco's. In the first 10 picks 5 are from HS and 5 are juco/college. After that, we took 12 HS and 27 juco/college.
  14. "this unknown comes outta nowhere to lead the pack, at Augusta, he's on his final hole..."
  15. It's kinda fitting Team Canada's last pick this year is a Canadian.
  16. Ulrich Snijders, like Kjeldgaard, has a pretty cool name.
  17. DFE or do we sign him this time around?
  18. Page's not a top safety prospect? Almost all of the draft sites and scouting services have him listed among the top 100 prospects for next year's draft. He is a good safety prospect. He will probably go on the first day of the NFL draft next year. www.profootballdraft.comhas him listed as the 58th best prospect for next year's draft. They rate him as the second best safety. Sporting News also had him in the top 100. Page won't sign with an MLB team as he has an NFL career ahead of him. I have seen Page ranked anywhere from the second to the fifth best safety available.
  19. According to MLB.com the Nationals have already signed Zimmerman to a contract. He signed a minor league deal worth $2.975mil with $800k up front as a signing bonus.
  20. Congrats Brian. That is awesome and well deserved.
  21. Just think, if we can get Lou Palmisano and Jemile on the same team we will have The Captain and Jemile.
  22. You also have to factor in the exchange rate.
  23. I would love it if Upton or Gordon fell to us but I can't really fathom that happening. I think it would be too good to be true. Weirder things have happened, of course. If it happens I will jump for joy. I won't jump high or far though. My knees aren't great and you could have measured my vertical in centimeters in my prime. My guess is this: 1. Ari: Upton 2. KC: Gordon 3. Sea: Clement 4. DC: Zimmerman 5: Milwaukee Brewers: Maybin. Jack Z loves his high upside highschoolers. I don't think he can pass Maybin up. If not Maybin, then I think he will go Braun. Tulo will be better defensively but we have a bunch of middle infield prospects and Braun could turn out to be very good offensively. I personally would love to see us go with Maybin. I love his upside and his high character. edit: Formated it better.
